Something, something, Criminal!Arlecchino x Investigator!Reader... is this anything?

Criminal!Arlecchino, who's entire job is dirty work, managing a network of hitmen, assassins, and spies across the country.

Criminal!Arlecchino, who's used to working from the shadows, who sends subordinates to do the dirty work while she wines and dines their customers.

Criminal!Arlecchino, who gets news that there's been a new face lurking around The House of the Hearth, the upscale, invite-only restaurant that serves as their front.

A customer? Nope, just eats and leaves, no questions asked. A cop? No matching face on their records and their connections don't recognize her.

At first, she decides to leave it. The House has gotten attention before, a rookie getting a bit too loose with their calling cards, a potential customer just scoping out the scene. She's seen it before.

But when Arlecchino begins to hear rumors of a new agency moving into town, an independent organization with no legal ties, her mood changes.

Criminal!Arlecchino has a system. A system that works. She has a hand in everything and everyone, but a new agency meant change. Arlecchino doesn't do change.

Captain Beidou

Biggestest dyke on earth. She doesn't even call herself gay or a lesbian, if you ask she just says a dyke. very loudly.

Technically she/her, but her wife could refer to her as anything and she'd answer regardless.

In her very late 20s, maybe early 30s. Surprisingly amongst the younger half of the Crux's crew.

5'9, but she only wears big boots that add at least two inches in height.

She adores working out and training with her claymore, so she's absolutely huge!!! ★

Because of this, Beidou gives great hugs, (according to her, it's one of her best traits) Unfortunately, she's so fucking heavy and she'll absolutely crush anyone underneath her.

She's so fucking loud. Like almost deafeningly so. Everyone in Liyue can tell the Crux has returned to port because her laugh can carry even past the dock.

Beidou is a HUGE wife guy, she loves her wife so so so so much and she's always devastated when they don't travel together.

Despite what a lot of people assume, she enjoys reading a lot. Her main interest is in history books, with a shelf full of different atlas's of Teyvat. (She'll also pick up a few romance novels here or there, but nobody knows that.)

Modern!Beidou

Is so easily entertained, almost to a fault. Put her in front of one of those baby sensory videos and she'll be there for a while before she realizes. If she ever has babies, she's absolutely the kind of parent that gets sucked into whatever the babies are watching.

Beidou hates texting. She either gets too excited and her typing becomes unintelligible, or she completely forgets to respond to a message. Definitely the kind of person to just call people when she needs something.

Beidou manages a fleet of ships and focuses on maintaining connections between customers and suppliers. Her job can have her working from home one day, and across the ocean the next.

She's a professional situationship-haver. She doesn't struggle with commitment, per say, but she definitely doesn't have a great work-life balance to help with maintaining that commitment.

Before I post any writing, I've decided my first few posts will just be headcanons/interpretations of I've been sitting on.

Obviously, they're not canon but consider it like a character master list of sorts ★

In honor of Father's day, we're starting off strong with the one and only

Arlecchino (The Knave)

I like to think of her as my personal transmasc icon

Uses all pronouns interchangeably, but exclusively uses male identifiers/titles ("sir", "husband", "mister")

Mid 30s, but the stress of managing both a demanding job and their curse has led to her looking a bit older than she is (save me, older butches... save me...)

About 5'11" typically, 6'1" in heels

She has a deep wrinkle between her brows from how much time is spent frowning, but otherwise the rest of her aging is still somewhat subtle.

Probably best identified as a lesbian, but doesn't really utilize any specific terms for himself. Girlkisser.

Really inexperienced in relationships, which makes sense considering how much of their teenage years were spent in training

The nature of the curse makes her naturally warm but she deals with a lot of fatigue at the end of a work day

speaking of which, she sleeps like a rock (trust me I was there ) no movement, no sound, if you somehow figured out where she was you'd think she was dead

Modern! Arlecchino

Would definitely be an entomologist though! While I love the idea of them owning an orphanage and all of that, there's just something about a woman in a lab coat

Mid 30s still, but runs their own lab at some prestigious international university conducting all kinds of research

The twins and Freminet are probably undergrad assistants conducting their own research while pursuing their degrees too

He probably has an apartment not too far from the university and definitely spends most of their time at the lab and only really goes home to sleep for a bit, maybe workout, and then they're back in the lab

Imagine waking up to find that your world has changed in a moment, and you have lost your security and peace, and your home has been destroyed, and you have become homeless and living in conditions that no human being can bear. I suffer from chronic diseases, high blood pressure and diabetes. My medication has run out for some time and I am facing difficulty in obtaining it in light of the lack of treatment in hospitals and health centers. Most of the time I cannot feel my limbs, but I am trying to resist. I do not want to die in such circumstances. I still have hope that this war will end and we will rebuild our beautiful and beloved country again and live in safety. I believe in divine power and justice and that all this pain will go away.

I am trying to endure these difficult conditions that I live in inside a small tent and a bathroom a few meters away from my tent and you know the conditions of diabetics in this case but once again there is still hope. I used to live at the expense of my daughters but with all sadness and regret they have all lost their homes and places of work and they have no source of income left and their situation is like that of any Gazan who is still inside Gaza struggling with death, hunger, diseases and extreme heat each one struggling to feed his children I cannot ask them for help so I have resorted to you and I am fully confident in your humanity to help me so that I can provide food and treatment and provide a better tent than the one I live in because it is torn and the place is full of insects. If I can provide treatment, I want to continue my life and see my grandchildren grow up around me. I don’t want to go now. I know that I don’t have as much life left as I have, but I have the right to live and enjoy this. Please don’t hesitate to help your mother who has come to you with a heavy and sad heart. Every dollar will make a difference in my life. Don’t leave me to live this pain. I appreciate what you are doing for every Palestinian inside and outside Gaza.
