A/N: I have not written a fic in years literally so this probably isn’t the greatest, I am welcome to constructive feedback because I definitely need to improve. I meant this to be fluffier but it's kinda sad!!!
Ethan hated parties. He hates the smell, the loud, obnoxious music, and the number of people fucking everywhere. He loves you though, so when you begged him to go out with you, he agreed without hesitating. Now, he stood clinging onto you like a lost puppy while you talked and laughed with Chad. Ethan doesn’t understand what Chad said that was so funny that your head was thrown back and you wiped your eyes, trying not to ruin your makeup. Ethan loved your laugh, but only when he was making you laugh. He couldn’t stand the thought of anyone that wasn’t him making you feel this sort of way. Chad was an all-around great guy, but his looks definitely outweighed his smarts, which was probably why he didn’t notice the death glare Ethan was sending him. He felt a pang of sadness in his heart when he realized you had barely even looked in his direction since you two arrived at the frat party.
"Need air" He mumbled into your ear, not even checking to see if you heard him as he sped away.
He wanted to kill him; he wanted to make sure Chad couldn’t even breathe in his lover's direction because you were his, not Chad’s. Thoughts of Chad taking you away from him made Ethan clench his fists together so hard that he left marks. He bumped into the dancing bodies as he gasped for air, not caring how Mindy looked at him suspiciously or that you called his name, not understanding his urgency to leave.
Finally, he ended up outside, his back pressed against the car that was parked in the driveway. He tried to slow his breathing by acknowledging the things he could see: couples making out in the grass, the full moon in the sky, the frat house flashing with bright lights, the sliver of blood on his hands from him tearing the skin with his nails, and you.
You stood on the porch, scanning the area, looking for your boyfriend. You barely heard what he said before he left so suddenly, too busy reminiscing about your childhood with Chad, the boy you had known before you could walk. You felt bad for not realizing how uncomfortable your boyfriend might have been in the crowded party.
"Oh baby," you cooed, walking up to Ethan as you saw the pout on his face.
Ethan wanted to fall into your arms and never let you go, but he couldn’t. You betrayed him, you didn’t really love him, you couldn’t love a loser like him. You deserved to be with someone as handsome and funny as Chad, not him.
"Don’t fucking touch me," Ethan said with a wobbly voice. "Shouldn’t you be all over your boyfriend Chad?" You stood in shock and confusion as your sweet boyfriend said those horrible things to you. Why was he speaking to you like that, what did you do to hurt him?
"Ethan, what are you talking about?" You held back tears as your boyfriend scoffed and looked down at you.
"Stop acting all innocent; if you want him so bad, you can have him," Ethan spat. He didn’t mean the things he was saying; he hates the idea of you leaving him for someone else, but the words wouldn’t stop until it was too late.
"Why are you being so mean?" was the only thing you could say before walking away, just wanting to be out of his sight and needing to be alone.
Fuck.
He had to ruin the only good thing he had; he wanted to go after you but couldn’t, not just yet. He was shaking as the adrenaline of the anger started to wear off, and he felt like complete shit. Ethan compared himself to his father; everything he did was something his dad had done to him, the yelling and the ignorance. He hated his father and would lose it if you hated him the same way.

You laid curled up in your bed, your mascara running down your eyes as you cried for what seemed like forever. You loved Ethan, and you thought he loved you just as much—or more than you did. Then why did he say that to you? You wiped your tears with the tissue your roommate Anika left for you before hesitantly going to meet her girlfriend at the party. When you tossed the now black tissue in the trash, you heard a gentle knock at your door. You frowned at the door, knowing it could’ve been ghostface or your boyfriend, and in the moment, you wished and wished it was the brutal murderer. You believed that you could face ghostface before you could even look in your boyfriend's direction. The door slowly opened, and your boyfriend peeked inside, quickly walking towards you when he saw black smudges under your eyes.
"Angel," he started softly, looking into your glossy eyes for approval to sit on the bed next to you. You broke eye contact, looking anywhere but him as the tears threatened to spill. You couldn’t look at him without thinking about what happened earlier, the moment playing in your head over and over.
"I’m so so so sorry." He said, putting emphasis on the sorry, "I’m so mean to my pretty baby; I didn’t even think about my words before I spoke, and I hurt you." You wanted to stay mad at him, but the way he was fidgeting and trying to catch your eyes made you know that he meant it. Relief filled your body as you realized he didn’t hate you, that your overthinking was wrong, and that you would be in his embrace once again.
You made eye contact with him, grabbing his hands and pulling him closer. Ethan knew exactly what you wanted and moved over to the head of the bed and pulled you into his lap, cradling and slowly rocking you like a baby.
"I don’t want you to talk to me like that again," You said quietly but loud enough for Ethan to hear every word, "I thought you didn’t love me any-" Before you could finish that sentence, Ethan gently placed his lips against yours and silenced you with a kiss. When he pulled back, he stroked your cheek, and he furrowed his brows, angry at himself for making you think that God awful thought.
"Angel I will never ever stop loving you; you are mine forever, you understand?" Gazing into your eyes once again as you nodded, making sure you really understood what he meant. Maybe he doesn’t deserve you, but he needed you and he knew you needed him. You were his and his only; not Chad’s, not the frat guys that stared at you as soon as you entered the party, not anyone's but his.
