And their cultural attire. Like everything. & I worship Pele and she’s originally from Tahiti. Maybe that’s my ancestor.

Even Tahitian tattoos. I just always liked Tahitian culture more than I’ve liked Hawaiian culture for some reason.

This is why I don’t like saying im just Hawaiian. I feel connected to different polynesian cultures and we come from everywhere in polynesia so to think our ancestors are just Hawaiian would stop us from embracing our whole bloodline and the origins of our culture. Hula wouldn’t exist without Tahiti.

I think the origin of hula was from the wave of Tahitians who settled in Hawaii and Pele is a real person from Tahiti and because of their dancing and religion and power is why they were revered as gods by the Marquesans who were in Hawai’i. And because they apparently brought priests and chiefs and taught the religious beliefs and established the Ali’i. Which means the Ali’i was most likely Tahitian, and Pele could be a real person who was the first monarch. Maybe Tahitians made the first connection of Hawai’i being created from the volcano and that’s why she is considered the volcano goddess. Idk but.. it’s interesting to think about the influence of both Marquesans and Tahitians in Hawaiian culture. We’re all most likely both now but i feel a strong connection to Tahitian culture and Pele, and she was from Tahiti. The establishment of the Ali’i and the fact my ancestors were chief of the Ali’i could signify my lineage being more Tahitian.

they think because they’re POC the word belongs to them when half the time they don’t like black people. You wanna know why the polls went the way they did? That’s your answer.

i had to learn that Mexicans don’t like black people the hard way when my exs friends started saying racial slurs and referring to black hair as “n*gger hair” and in high school Mexicans casually referring to black people by a racial slur. I’ve had to stop being friends with people just because of that

my special interest used to be sharks. & my papa has a polynesian shark tattoo. he was probably reincarnated as a shark like how moana grandma was reincarnated.
