okay so wondering if the others will know jim was killed during the day!!! imagine it's night and he just hasn't come back and they think he's spending the night at the RV with a talisman like he did once with randall but then they find him and they realise he wasn't killed in the same way the monsters usually kill and kristi points out he's actually been dead for a while so like going out during the day is not even safe anymore! is staying in the town safe?? were they ever at all safe anywhere? who fucking knows! tabitha's been saying she's being punished from the start so i think she would immediately jump to the (ironically correct) conclusion that this happened because of what they did with the song. i think she might deeply regret everything and want nothing to do with all that they discovered like she would feel so guilty and jade might have to convince her to keep trying for the sake of the kids but also the memoriessss from the past lives are there and omg it's going to be insane

Dudes I know the fandom is starved for content but the human/monster portion is also so starved for content that I've resorted to looking up crow facts to satiate my hunger because the few fics about the monsters have some that headcannon them as crow like or with crow like behaviors.

So far I've fond:

Crows can put of immediate gratification if they know a better option is coming later (reasoning or making deals with the monsters)

they can recognize faces and hold grudges, they spread the word too (they are actively targeting Boyd)

they have family nests and territory held year round they hold but also will go out to eat/sleep in larger groups away from the home (the caves they sleep in)

in the winter they will huddle up in large groups (i just think the image o them all huddling up since winter is coming is cute as hell, specially bc no fluid in em so they gotta generate heat somehow)

they wait for other creatures to open up prey so they can eat later (this one doesn't really connect to the show but the box is the closets example i could think of)

they will mate for life but they are manogamish and will have other side partners form time to time (the human x monster fics could use this one)

very family oriented they have been known to have five different hatches in the nest at a time and the older ones help the younger ones (read a fic where they brough back food for others of the flock who couldn't hunt as well so they didn't feel hungry)

though its a myth that crows like shiny things (unfamiliar things can actually scare them they prefer food items) they will bring unique items and trinkets to humans if they have a good enough relationship and can be trained to retrieve specific things (read a fic with Kenny making deals with Smiley potentially for more talismans & the monsters collect human things, mabey a plot point could be gifting pretty things to impress mates or new members)

Now i understand they oncer were human, poses probably human intelligence, and are not in fact crows but i think it'd be cool to see more cute crow like things pop up in fics about them.

Think a big reason they are related to crows is because of how common they are in the show even having a theory that they are eyes and ears for the Man in Yellow or whatever is the higher being here so it's neet to see people connect them like that.

like the way these scenes paralleled each other was one of the reasons i started thinking jade and tabitha made a good ship and i was insane for this but i was also right

what is your favourite boyd moment!!!!!

there's so manyyy the "let me just go give my worms to a creature real quick and then we can do the transfusion" thing is obviously a strong contender bc he was so insane (/pos) for that but i think my favourite is when he's trying to stand up for tabitha in the diner after she comes back to town because you know everyone's upset about what she did or didn't do while she was outside but boyd was like yall are missing the forest for the trees yall SHE GOT OUT IT MEANS IT'S POSSIBLE. THIS IS HUGE. which like basically only jade also saw. i really like that moment because i think it really shows why boyd had the qualities needed to lead like he can see what's important and not get lost in the details! it's interesting how when all seemed lost at the end of s2 it was jade boyd and tabitha that were still trying stuff out like until the last possible minute

not a specific moment but what i find most interesting about his character is that he's so about the people he's lost you know, not only is he haunted by the ghosts of khatri and his wife but we see him making decisions that are influenced by his love for them, mostly the whole thing with sara like there was the whole thing with khatri thinking that what he was doing was significant even on a literal biblical scale and then being like it can't just end like this right??? when he dies and like. well sara is his legacy!! if he was right about sara then he didn't die for nothing. if sara ends up being the key to getting out of the town then khatri retroactively saved everyone and i think boyd wants that to happen so bad. it's like she's their daughter in a way and like. obviously the whole thing with lying to kenny multiple times to protect sara is ultimately because he really believes it will save them BUT we can't forget it was the advice of ghost father khatri that he was following so it's like ughhh boyd these ghosts are influencing you and you're prioritizing their opinions over the opinions of your living loved ones. he's also asking for/obeying signs from the town thinking it's totally his dead wife because he wants to believe it's her so badlyyyy and the moment where he realises the thing asking him to let everyone die is probably not his wife is another one of my favourite scenes of him. the scene where he has to kill his wife in the flashback is also one of the strongest if not the strongest in the whole show imo that whole episode is so well done. he's just such an amazing protagonist!!!

sorry to everyone who has been nice i really really really appreciate nice anons but i'm closing anons for the time being bc in between the ones i posted and the ones i just deleted or ignored the situation is just so out of control, i don't mind critiques and i'm always open to discussion but it feels as if a group of people has decided that everything i say is with bad intentions and in the end it is doing a number on me to be treated like that. i thought i could laugh it off and as long as it was limited to the jim anons situation i think i could but now it just feels like it is with everything and at the end of the day i think being treated like that by many people not just affects your own perception of yourself but also the way others start to treat you. specially the not knowing if the people sending those messages are people i know who are otherwise friendly with me is something i'm not handling well so i think i have to put an end to it. if you want to send something but don't want it posted with your name attached to it you can specify so in the ask and i'll reply by making a new post instead of directly replying to the ask

to the stranger danger anon: when i say "the myth of stranger danger" i don't mean that it's a myth that a stranger could ever be a threat, that would be ridiculous. even in the example i was using a stranger was a danger (sara). i don't want to talk about this in depth because i'm a victim of grooming and more by a stranger myself so just look it up if you want to know more. i am tired of everything i say on this blog being taken in the worst worst worst possible faith. english isn't even my first language i'm sorry if i word something awkwardly sometimes. i have a soft spot for victor and julie parallels and their uncle-niece antics. she actually starts to understand him and defend him. he also has helped her family in his own way, even when nobody else pays attention to him unless they want something, im glad he has ethan and julie and eventually sara too! hes really making his own little family of “kids” to protect (i know saras not really a kid kid but) 🥺

ohhhhh absolutely omg i had a post in drafts about what FROM did to subvert the expectations of "stranger danger" which is one of the myths that helps perpetuate the structure of the nuclear family because to justify the idea of a man keeping his children and wife under control they have to create this world that is full of threats you know when studies have proven the people most likely to harm a child are by far their guardians or other relatives and friends of the family. and you know victor (and to a lesser extent jade) is pretty much the stereotype of "stranger that's a danger to your children" by being "weird" and "an outsider" which in this case means traumatized and possibly autistic. so we get jim and tabitha initially being very put off both by victor and jade and literally physically pushing them out of their home/the diner when they try to approach ethan and julie respectively. but then the person who is the ideal of someone who society considers harmless and "normal" is the one they let in and she actually tries to kill ethan! meanwhile victor and jade babysit ethan for them and victor ends up saving julie's life while jade risks his own life to try to help save julie too. idk i just think it's really neattt

i'm kind of still processing the updated post-finale family tree but i think julie/ethan and victor could be considered hmm reincarnation siblings i guess??? since tabitha and miranda ended up being "the same person". and yes i love victor's relationships with all the younger characters i love victor so much
