Help a refugee student from Gaza while he’s trapped in Egypt! No support in 24 days!
Ahmed is an art therapist and educator whose research in Gz focuses on developing methods for treating child trauma. He has an acceptance to a Master’s in Europe where he will continue to develop his practice so he can return to healing the children of his country—a need that has unfortunately only grown.
I have been in touch with Ahmed since he was exiled last spring. In Egypt, Palestinian refugees from Gaza have no rights, including to work—meaning Ahmed is reliant on the kindness of strangers & his international friends to cover his rent and other expenses while he waits for his student visa.
We have a modest goal so as to cover Ahmed’s needs monthly. I’m in daily contact with Ahmed who is also my dear friend & family. Anything extra will be given as cash when I visit him in a week.
We’re matching the next $325 to cover his rent this month, so give for 2x impact!
Donate: tinyurl.com/HelpAhmedF
Order my & @gothhabiba’s debut EP: tiny.cc/TheSkySoMuchNearerEP

Spark sent me an operations report a few days ago. They describe that donations are now covering about 35% of costs and the rest is out of pocket by the team, who refuse to stop because of the importance of this project. They write:
“We symbolize rebuilding from the ashes, like a phoenix, igniting creativity and resilience in a generation determined to rise…your contribution fuels education, dignity, and resilience.”
£1,043/1,500 💛
A co-working space for remote workers & students in غaza needs our help💡
I am coordinating with a team on the ground running a co-working space, Spark Space, which provides internet, electricity, and a bit of shelter to workers connecting to remote jobs and students connecting to their classes.
🛜 This has been an important lifeline enabling people to earn an income and feed their families amidst catastrophically increasing prices for basic goods. Meanwhile, students have a free way to continue their educations and build their futures.
🛜 Before the entry of aid was stopped, we were able to secure them a generator and fuel for the generator through your kind support. The aid stoppage has also driven up the cost of fuel, so last week the space had to stop providing electricity, meaning that the workers & students can no longer charge devices and there are no lights on.
🛜 Now, the space is running on a shoestring—the team is using their own money to run it, despite needing those funds to feed their own families, because they know this service is a real lifeline to numerous families. Spark Space is on the brink of closing.
This space isn’t a business—it’s a mutual aid initiative and one on which countless people rely to literally survive.
💡Support will go to:
Securing a solar panel
Paying for internet costs
Paying the team members a wage
💡How to give: Chuffed
If you give $10+, you can use your donation receipt in my ‘shop,’ kurkar.
💡 Want to help sustainably?
If you run a co-working space, tech company, library, student group, or similar and would like to twin with Spark Space, I can send you flyers and more. Email me at [email protected].

The latest update is that the space is now supporting 40+ students who need the shelter, internet, and electricity to connect to their remote classes. The team is still paying out of pocket for internet & electricity and will run out of money soon to keep it going. They said donations are only covering about 50% of what they need to stay open.

Help two 🇵🇸 refugees breathe
This summer, I’m visiting two friends who escaped the g—cide last year, crossing alone and without their families. Now in Egypt, they lack the right to work, which means they’re totally reliant on contributions through fundraisers and friends to pay rent, eat, and simply live, all while worrying constantly for their loved ones while cut off from them.
I’d love to give them some direct aid through cash to not only help with their living expenses, but also so they can treat themselves and get a little relief. I’m doing this informally because I want this to be a surprise and not embarrass them, since they only collect funds for their families, their own mutual aid work, and bare necessities.
I think they deserve to breathe and feel loved and appreciated, even for a second. If you’d like to pitch in:

My illustrated poetry chapbook is part of this bundle 💚 and there are so many amazing things in here. $16 is the starting price for most eSIMs so with every purchase, know that you’re supplying someone on the ground in غaza with internet connection.
Hey all! There's a campaign for eSims again which are in dire need!!!
For donating at least 16$ you can get 237 games in one bundle, valued at almost 900$!
They are donating all proceeds to Crips for eSims for Gaza!! Who have helped donate and top up over 18 000 eSims for people in Ghazzah!!
This campaign ends on May 20th, and they hope to make 20 000$!!!! Please help in whatever way you can. Spread the word, donate, or whatever else!
