An official goodbye.

With the oncoming tumblr apocalypse, I’ve come to the decision that it’s finally time for me to say goodbye to this blog. Many of it’s older posts are nsfw, and it’s sure to be flagged during the oncoming tumblr-apocalypse.

The sims community helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. I took refuge in the stories and characters I shared with you all when things got hard in the real world. The Sims was a big part of my life and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I know that this blog has sat mostly dormant for years and that many of you probably don’t remember me, but I just wanted to say thank you for following me and making my time as part of the Sims community a memorable one 💖

While I will officially no longer be using this blog, you can find me @brandydoll if you’re interested. Maybe sometime in the future Ill rejoin the sims community, but with the resources and time I have right now, that won’t be for a while if at all.

I love all of you. Be good.

thank you so much for this! I recently moved my game to a newer, nicer computer and was wondering why I was running into issues. Gonna do everything listed here that I haven't already!

The Sims 3 | Performance Guide 2017

I will add more to this if i have missed anything :)

Step 1: Making The Game Recognize Newer GPU Models

With The Sims 3 releasing back in 2009 and finishing its run in 2014 newer models of GPUs have come out since then but since the game has not been updated by EA due to no more patch support the game will not recognize newer models and believe it or not make you game run slower. To get the game to recognize newer models (gtx 950 and above) you will need to do some file editing of your own to get it to recognize your newer GPU model. (If you currently have a gtx 750 and under you will not need to follow this step). The videos provided will tell you step by step on how to get the game to recognize your new GPU (gtx 950 or higher)

Step 2: Restricting Store Generated Jpgs

With an update to The Sims 3 back in 2011 EA made it so you could browse the online store in game this feature surprisingly slows down the game a lot.

How it slows down your game is that it generates images of the store items everytime you click on the store feature in game then in a folder were the sims 3 stores all your save files the game generates hundred of jpeg files over and over again. Disabling this folder from updating will increase your games performance. The neutorious folder is called “FeaturedItems”.

This is how you disable the “FeaturedItems” folder,

Step 1: Locate “The Sims 3” folder in your “My Documents” under “Electronic Arts”,

\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Step 2: Once in “The Sims 3” Folder find the folder called “Featured Items” and right click on the folder and select properties.

Step 3: Once selecting properties a little window will appear once it has appeared click on the “Security” tab at the top of the little window.

Step 4: After Clicking the tab you will see this window.

Click on the edit button to the center right

Once clicked tick all the boxes in the rectangle below so that “Deny” is ticked for all options.

and then click apply and close the “features items” properties window.

Step 3: Nraas Mods

Nraas mods will help your game run smoother and less likely to crash To Install Nraas you will need basic knowlegde on how to install The Sims 3 mods if you are new please refer to this Site below on how to set up a “Mods” Folder for The Sims 3. http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files Here are the nraas mods that are needed… Nraas Error Trap - http://nraas.wikispaces.com/ErrorTrap Error trap prevents the game from crashing when the game hiccups on itself and will notify you in game when it has prevented a crash it also leaves crash logs so you can track down what was going to make your game crash (Download the Steam version). Nraas Overwatch - http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Overwatch Overwatch resets stuck sims and puts them back to their home lot safley will also remove unsued cars that slow down the game, turn off stereos that are not in use on non played sims homes ect.

Step 4: Cleaning DCBackup Folder

When installing things through the launcher the path to those files are saved in this file but of course there are a lot of files that are not needed and will slow down the game you can delete everything in this folder except for one file and it is called “ccmerged” this file is required the rest can be deleted without any trouble. The folder should look like this after you are done.

Step 5: Save Game Cleaning

When saving The Sims 3 will actually bloat the save files with unnecessary lines of code slowing down you game when loaded. That is were the tool Save Cleaner V2.2 by Kuree comes into play with a few simple clicks this program will clean your save file ready for a less laggy experience. The Program can be found here - http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUploadsRemote/uploads/1532/ ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR SAVE FILES BEFORE USING ANY TOOL (You will need to clean your save game every time you save and exit the game)

Step 6: Clearing Cache Files

In “The Sims 3” folder under the folder “Electronic Arts” the game will generate chache files every time its starts up if never been deleted before the file size over time will become very large and will slow down the game.

The cache files that are safe to delete after everytime playing the game are…

- compositorCache.package

- CasPartCache.package

- scriptCache.package

- simCompositorCache.package

- socialCache.package

Deleting these files before running the game will make the game run smoother.

Step 7: The Sims 3 World Fixes

This step is only for new saved games already saved games will crash on start up if the new world files are installed. When EA was making the worlds for The Sims 3 they missed a lot of bugs on the worlds terrain and path finding which ends up in sims getting stuck and lagging out the game. Step 8: Enjoy A more Smooth Game Experience

Hopefully your game will now be a more smooth experience. :)

so the game is running, files moved over and all. Albeit a little slow, but I'm pretty sure that's because I hadn't turned off windows search before I loaded it the first time. I also made sure to kill of origin before the game booted up this time so we'll see how this goes.

I'm seriously considering making new save files because I have the sneaking suspicion that the files themselves may just need to be replaced but we'll see. I made sure I backed up the original game files before I moved mine in, just to be safe.

Sooooooo I'm hoping that with my new laptop I'll be able to play a bit more and it'll open up my options for where I'm able to run my game. As of right now I can only really play at home with the AC running otherwise my laptop will overheat and shut off before my game even finishes booting up. Thank goodness for floor AC vents. The laptop I'm ordering hopefully won't have this issue and maybe I'll even be able to play my game at school and stuff if I'm lucky. Fingers crossed!

Nicky: Obviously I still care about Airi, and I miss her. Aside from wanting to make amends one of the biggest reasons I joined Buried Alive was to be her friend again. But I don’t want anything more than that and there’s no way I’d even dream of trying to come between you guys.

Walter: If it’s any consolation I’m sorry you had to go through what you did with your parents. I can’t even begin to imagine what that must have been like.

Nicky: Right before high school started my parents got divorced. My mom up and left Lucky Palms to God knows where and left me with my then alcoholic, now drug-addicted father. I had been a decent kid until then but once that happened everything went to shit. I was depressed and felt abandoned and didn’t know how to deal with it. I ditched my group of friends for the cool kids who tagged the bathrooms at school and stole from liquor stores. The fact that I was still allowed to participate in play production despite being a shitty student and causing trouble is still a mystery to me. I created that stupid “Nicky Nightmare” facade so I had something to hide behind and pretend I was something I wasn’t. I managed to keep up that confident image but the fact of the matter was I didn’t like myself very much.

Then I met Airi... and I don’t know man. You know her. I was hooked. I finally felt like I had someone who loved me despite how fucked up I was and I was terrified of losing her. So... when I saw what you had with her, I just knew I could never compare. So I got really possessive and jealous and tried to push you out of the picture, but we all know how well that went. You won.

I... look, the point is, I was a piece of shit back then and I’m sorry. Both of you didn’t deserve that; especially you. I took my own insecurities out on you and that wasn’t fair. I want to make things up to both of you and start fresh.
