On July 6, 2016, 32-year-old Philando Castile was senselessly killed during a traffic stop by a police officer of the St. Anthony police department in Minnesota. Castile was a beloved nutrition services assistant for the Saint Paul Public School District before his untimely death.

In remembrance of Philando Castile, the Philando Castile Memorial Scholarship was established at St. Paul Central High School.

100% agree with @dancingastro. I’ve played musical instruments since I was in 3rd grade, and loved music since before I could talk. To claim one kind of music is “legitimate” while others aren’t? Nonsense. Producing EDM can be just as challenging as any other genre of music. Completely different audience, completely different audience expectations. Rock/pop audiences “need” a star. When I started going to raves, the DJ was mostly behind the scenes. Ravers came to dance, and they knew who the best DJs were by *sound*, rather than by sight. Whether you go to rock, or to dance?
