EMBRACE THE STRUGGLE -That actually strikes at a root of MY musical identity that I'd not considered in depth until now. Learning Music Production/Making with the cheapest & lowest spec gear, as a "shoestring" producer, I'm used to thinking of alternative ways to achieve an end, so I am able to improvise.
Most of my life I've been in a disadvantageous Socio-Economic predicament & the primary barrier to my artistic expression was cost of hardware. It was only very recently that DAW Software became decent & affordable, emulation was adopted (something I very much depend on) as the norm with cheaper hardware - only now can I "Be Me."
I've developed a love for FL Studio cos it's such an affordable option. The "Underdog" (no pun intended) factor kicks in & that appeals to the Kiwi flag_nzsweat_smile. So I've been considering my hardware setup & purchases carefully, well aware that it's not the equipment that makes the artist.
There's plenty of good in my circumstances - learning on the absolute shoestring budget with the cheapest available option in almost every regard means I'm reasonably confident it makes no difference what setup is available - I can get familiar reasonably quickly.
What gear does for me is mostly tied to Live Performance. I can bring my dexterity & physical celerity to bear & alter more parameters with greater precision in Real Time.
I feel a bit like a kid on Xmas Eve, except I've worked for this present to myself blushwink - next week all things going smoothly I'll have purchased my rig.
