Can you believe that this session was in the middle of January--it’s a winter session! We were excited to see that our chosen date was going to be in the low 50s but boy, oh boy, was it windy! Flowy dresses are perfect for maternity sessions but the wind definitely did not make things easy for this beautiful mama! But clearly, they did fabulous! Sending so much love to this beautiful couple and their sweet baby that’s on the way!

What I love most about photographing families is capturing the tenderness between parents and their children--big or small, or even still in the belly. This session was extra special because we got to grab a few photos of the mama-to-be with her own mom and I am now convinced that this should be an essential part of every maternity session!

Miraloma Park Family Session | San Francisco, CA

A few years ago, I visited this amazing family in San Francisco for the first time and thought while packing, “Woo, California!! Sundresses and shorts for days!” Wrong. I quickly learned that SF was basically in a state of perpetual autumn and I was sorely underdressed. 

Now that I’ve visited SF a few times, I expertly packed myself jeans and hoodies for my most recent visit in September, only to be met with a record-breaking heat wave with temperatures going into the 100s--yikes!

Luckily, the day of our photo session, the fog (aka SF’s air conditioning) returned just in time for us to capture some memories in their neighborhood without dying of heat!
