The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
got this from book of the month a while ago. it was fine. easy to read. except if i ever read another book with blatant sex scenes substituting d*ck/c*ck/t*ts/p*ssy with something stupid ever again i might combust. saying his "Goddamn" might be the literal stupidest fucking thing i've ever read in my entire life. there are so many ways to write smut and not be explicit like that without going into complete ridiculousness, appealing to the pearl-clutchers where this is the most risque thing they have ever read in their life. like it's just bad writing IMO.
okay rant over. will not read again.

Ariadne by Jennifer Saint
i love a greek retelling. i think they are so much fun to read and this one didn't feel like i had to be an expert in greek mythology to understand what's happening like other i've read (looking at you stoneblind). and when i tell you i was absolutely bamboozled by theseus........ i was embarrassed for myself. there was not one single cell in my body that was saying he can't be trusted and the way that made me feel the pain like ariadne and phaedra did was the point in the book i keep coming back too. it's what really hooked me in for the rest of the story, waiting to see how that fucker's life gets destroyed
these stories are always so heartbreaking in every way imaginable. it's taken me a while to really process what happened here and collect my thoughts.
would absolutely read again and will be recommending to friends

L.A. Weather by Maria Amparo Escandon
So much happened in this 319 pages. I'm struggling a little bit to organize my thoughts. i thought it started off really strong and i liked the pacing. the ending felt a little abrupt and i wish they could have saved the trees. my only lingering thoughts are about keila and oscar.
overall i enjoyed the book. probably won't reread. i'd only recommend this to my friends who just read for the vibes.
very mad keila cheated.
i didn't really understand the conflict between keila and oscar, especially since it doesn't seem like keila every asked oscar wtf was going on with him. you'd think after being married for so long she would have just asked before going straight to divorce? but i'm happy they worked it out.
the hidden trees didn't seem like big enough of a problem IMO for oscar to go completely silent with his whole family? idk just seemed a weird premise.
overall i enjoyed the book. probably wouldn't reread. i'd only recommend this to my friends who just read for the vibes.

hi hello
i've always wanted to share my thoughts about all the books i read. not really a review but mostly just a place to dump my thoughts (and maybe find some people who read the same things i do). so this is me doing it.
if i feel like it i might add all the books i've already read but we'll see. i've got a busy life
