A Jealous Heart in The Neon Glow
Pairing: Jinx x Reader
Summary: In the neon-lit chaos of Zaun, Jinx grapples with her growing jealousy as the reader's bond with Ekko stirs possessive feelings she can no longer suppress.
———
The dim glow of Zaun's neon lights filtered into the small hideout, casting the room in a flickering array of pinks and blues. You sat cross-legged on the couch, a makeshift workbench cluttered with mechanical scraps sprawled out before you. Jinx was perched on the armrest, twirling a wrench in her fingers like a baton. Her signature manic grin was nowhere to be found, replaced instead by a peculiar tension that made the air feel heavier than usual.
"So," Jinx began, her voice lilting like a razor sliding across silk. "You and Ekko seem real chummy these days."
You froze mid-tweak on the contraption in your lap, the question catching you off guard. "Uh, yeah. I guess. We've been working together on that glider project for a while now."
Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly, the wrench stopping mid-spin. "Oh, glider project. Sounds riveting. Is he, like, your new bestie now or something?"
You set the tool down and glanced at her. The playful edge to her voice was thinly veiled, barely masking something rawer, sharper. You knew Jinx well enough to recognize it: jealousy. It clung to her words like oil to water, a dangerous undercurrent you couldn't ignore.
"Come on, Jinx," you said carefully. "You know it's not like that."
She leaned closer, her face now inches from yours. Her cerulean hair framed her features, the usual mischief in her eyes replaced with something more vulnerable—though she was trying hard to hide it behind a cocky smirk.
"Not like what, exactly?" she asked, her voice dropping to a low murmur. "'Cause from where I’m sitting, looks like you’re getting all buddy-buddy with him, leaving little ol’ me out in the cold."
Before you could respond, a knock at the door interrupted the moment. You glanced over, recognizing Ekko’s voice calling out from the other side. You stood, feeling Jinx’s eyes burning holes into your back as you opened the door.
"Hey," Ekko greeted with a grin, holding a toolbox. "Thought I’d swing by and drop these off for the project."
"Thanks," you said, stepping aside to let him in. The tension in the room shifted palpably as Jinx remained on the armrest, now glaring daggers at Ekko. She didn’t bother hiding her displeasure, the wrench in her hand tapping rhythmically against the leather.
"Hey, Jinx," Ekko said with an easy smile. "What’s up?"
"Oh, y'know," she replied, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Just watching my best friend here get all cozy with someone else. Super fun."
Ekko raised an eyebrow, his gaze darting between the two of you. "Uh, okay? Didn’t mean to intrude."
"You’re not," you said quickly, shooting Jinx a warning look. "Ignore her. She’s just being… Jinx."
Jinx scoffed, crossing her arms. "Yeah, ignore me. That’s what everyone does anyway, right?"
You sighed, turning back to Ekko. "So, about that glider prototype—"
Before you could finish your sentence, Jinx was suddenly in front of you. Her hands grabbed your collar, yanking you down just enough for her lips to crash against yours. The kiss was anything but delicate—it was desperate, raw, and filled with an intensity that made your knees weak. The world seemed to blur around you, the only thing grounding you being the warmth of her mouth and the tight grip she had on your shirt.
When she finally pulled back, her eyes locked with yours, burning with a mix of defiance and vulnerability. "There. Now you know," she said breathlessly. "You’re mine. Got it?"
You blinked, your heart pounding as you tried to process what had just happened. Unable to help yourself, you smirked and replied, "Yes, ma’am."
Ekko let out an awkward cough from behind you, clearly unsure of where to look.
"Uh, I… should probably go," he mumbled, quickly retreating to the door. "Catch you later."
The door closed, leaving you and Jinx alone in the electrified silence. You stared at her, still feeling the lingering heat of her kiss.
"Jinx," you started, your voice shaky, "what was that?"
She crossed her arms, her bravado faltering as she glanced away. "What do you think it was? I… I can’t stand watching you with him. It’s like… it’s like my chest is gonna explode or something. I hate it."
Your heart ached at the raw honesty in her words. You stepped closer, gently placing a hand on her arm. "Jinx, you don’t have to feel like that. There’s no one else. Just you."
Her eyes snapped back to yours, wide and searching. "You mean that?"
You nodded, your thumb brushing over her wrist. "Yeah. I care about you. A lot. More than anyone."
For a moment, she looked like she might cry, but then her signature grin slowly crept back onto her face. "Well, duh," she said, though her voice cracked slightly. "I mean, who wouldn’t fall for this?"
You laughed softly, pulling her into a hug. She stiffened at first, then melted into your embrace, her arms wrapping tightly around your waist. The faint smell of gunpowder and oil clung to her, mixing with something uniquely hers.
"You’re not getting rid of me now, y’know," she mumbled into your shoulder. "I’ll blow up anyone who tries to take you away."
You pulled back just enough to look her in the eyes, your hand brushing a strand of blue hair from her face. "I wouldn’t want it any other way."
The two of you stayed like that for a while, the neon glow painting your world in shades of pink and blue. For once, the chaos of Zaun felt far away, and all that mattered was the girl in your arms and the unspoken promise of what lay ahead.

the greatest heist
james potter x female!reader
summary: when james's girlfriend decides to fuck with you, your only other choice is to fuck with her.
warnings: eventual smut! 18+ heavy angst, cursing, wearing, jealousy
a/n: my bad for taking so long.. enjoy & as always, i apologize if you hate this!
part 1 | part 2
SITTING in the Hospital Wing for the rest of your glamorous night was certainly not on your bucket list for the year.
You couldn't believe that while your friends were most likely on their next shot of Firewhiskey, there you were, sitting with an ice pack on your ankle and a yellow, now turning purple, bruise resting below it.
The scowl on your face couldn’t be more defined before a gentle squeeze on your forearm snapped you out of your angered thoughts.
A sweet, warm James sat beside you, his comforting smile as kind as ever. You gave him a shy smile in return, reluctant to admit that his presence made you feel just a little bit better.
"You know, you don’t have to stay here," You said, voice soft but sincere. "You don’t have to stay out of pity for me while the rest of our friends are probably on their fourth round of Truth or Dare." You snorted, trying to make light of it.
James lightly laughed, the sound warm and comforting. "I wanna be here," He replied sweetly, making your heart swell despite yourself. "I mean, I am partly to blame for your injury."
You snickered, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, your vicious twirling of me is definitely what did it."
He yawned dramatically. "Yeah, I’m so strong," He flexed one arm with exaggerated pride, earning a laugh from you as you playfully swatted at him.
"Well, dearie!" Madame Pomfrey exclaimed, appearing suddenly from the patient beside you. "It seems it’s just a deep bruise—nothing a bit of Bruisewart Balm won’t fix," She stated, handing you the small jar of balm. "I’d recommend taking it easy on your feet for a day or two, but nothing too strenuous."
"Thank you, Madame Pomfrey," You smiled as she nodded and moved on to her next patient.
"And to prevent more bruising," Pomfrey added with a sly smile, "I’d recommend staying away from Mr. Potter over here."
James frowned. "Oh Pops, how you wound me!" He said dramatically, making Pomfrey roll her eyes and walk away.
The tension in the room lifted, but as James turned back to you, the air between you two shifted. You met his gaze, and for the first time, you noticed the way his eyes seemed to sparkle, how the dim light of the Hospital Wing made them look even more intense. You felt your heart race in your chest as he cleared his throat.
"Well, it seems like you won’t need to stay overnight," James said, a little too casually, his voice softer than usual. "May I help you hop back to your dorm m'lady?" His hand extended out for you.
You blinked at him, a little surprised at his suggestion. "What a gentleman," You mocked, though your voice was lighthearted as he helped you carefully get to your feet, his hand steady at your waist and the small of your back.
You both started down the hallway, his support a comforting presence as you tried to regain your balance on your injured ankle.
"You know Emma’s going to kill me, right?" You said with a dry chuckle.
James huffed in response, his arm still around you. "She’s really not as deadly as you all make her out to be," he said lightly.
You scoffed, shaking your head. "I think there’s a reason all the girls in sixth year have stayed away from you, and it isn’t because of your looks or personality."
James laughed, but there was a tinge of embarrassment in his eyes. "Well, she’s just really protective, you know?" He helped you adjust your step as you hopped slightly, trying to stay balanced. "She cares about me."
You raised an eyebrow. 'Protective doesn’t mean bat-shit crazy,' You thought to yourself.
"But I am sorry for how she’s been treating you," James continued, his voice turning a little more serious. "We broke up over it, you know?"
You didn’t know how to respond. You’d heard they’d had a fight, but you hadn’t realized it had escalated to that point.
"Over me?" you asked, a little surprised.
"Yeah," He nodded, his voice almost sheepish. "I know we haven’t talked much in the last couple of years, but you’ve always meant a lot to me, you know? So, when she gave me that choice—you or her—I thought it was a load of bollocks, but in the end, I think it was what we both needed. To take a step back, I mean."
You felt your stomach twist at his words. You knew their relationship had always been complicated, but hearing it from him like this was not what you had expected.
"And how did she take that?" You asked, trying to keep your voice even.
James’s face softened, but there was a faint trace of sadness in his expression. "She yelled. Cursed me out for a bit, slammed the door, and I haven’t seen her since."
You nodded, processing his words. You hoped to feel happy and to be excited, but you only felt sadness for James. Despite your dislike for Emma, he had seemed to actually enjoy her presence.
And all you ever wanted for James was for him to be happy even if it meant the literal Anti-christ being his girlfriend.
"Well," You said quietly, "I'm sorry to hear that."
James looked over at you, his lips curling into a soft smile. "Thanks."
The silence stretched between you two as you hobbled along the corridor. You could feel the weight of his words hanging in the air, and something about it made your heart beat a little faster.
"Can I ask you something?" You ventured, glancing up at him.
"Anything," James replied, his voice sincere.
"Why didn’t you ever... you know, talk to me about this before? You’ve been kind of distant, and—" You cut yourself off, not wanting to sound too accusatory.
James gave a small, rueful chuckle. "Guess I was just stupid, huh?" He looked over at you, his expression thoughtful. "I always figured things would work themselves out, and we would get closer in the future. But maybe I was wrong or just scared of Emma." He lightly laughed.
You didn’t quite know how to respond to that, so you stayed quiet for a moment, your mind racing. The conversation felt like it was drifting toward a place you weren’t sure you were ready for, but at the same time, a part of you felt like you needed the conversation.
As you approached the Gryffindor Tower entrance, you could see the Fat Lady’s portrait in the distance, and the familiar weight of the evening was starting to settle back into place.
"This is me," You said, trying to keep your tone light as you stopped in front of the portrait.
"Yeah," James replied softly, a bit quieter now like he didn’t want the moment to end. "But, you know, if you ever anything—"
"I know where to find you," You said, a teasing smile playing on your lips.
James looked at you for a long moment, and for just a beat, it felt like everything between you two shifted again. His eyes were intense, but there was something more in them now, something that made your heart flutter.
"Yeah," he said, voice barely above a whisper, "You do."
You turned toward the Fat Lady, trying to mask the sudden rush of emotions coursing through you. You gave her the password, and as the portrait swung open, you took a last glance at James.
"Night, James," You said, your voice soft.
"Goodnight," he replied, his gaze lingering on you as you stepped inside.
And for a brief moment, you couldn’t help but wonder, maybe there was more to your friendship than you’d ever realized.
--
"He said what?!" Dorcas yelled excitedly, her voice carrying across the otherwise quiet Great Hall. You quickly shushed her, eyes darting around the room to make sure no one was watching. It was way too early for this kind of drama.
You had both decided to wake up an hour earlier than all the other girls for two very important reasons: 1) You didn’t trust Emma, and 2) You really didn’t trust Emma.
A few third-years glanced up from their breakfast, clearly curious about the outburst. You snorted, trying to hide your smile as you took another bite of toast.
"And what did you say?" Dorcas asked, her eyes practically sparkling with curiosity.
"Nothing," You muttered, refusing to meet her gaze as you stared off into the distance.
"What do you mean you said nothing?!" She questioned loudly, banging her hand against the table with enough force to rattle your plate.
You grabbed her hands quickly, trying to calm her down. "Stop doing that!" You whispered, sending apologetic glances to the third-years who were now staring openly at you.
"I just mean you had a perfect opportunity to get back at Emma, get Potter on your side, and you said nothing?!" Dorcas exclaimed, her voice rising with the excitement of her accusation.
You sighed, guilt twisting in your stomach. "I can’t do that to him, Dorc," You said quietly.
She stared at you for a long moment, clearly processing your words. There was a flash of realization in her eyes before she grinned, her voice dropping to a teasing whisper. "You like him!"
You felt your face heat up as you rolled your eyes. "I do not."
"You do," She sang, drawing out the words like she was taunting a child.
"I do not," You said firmly, refusing to let her win.
"But you do—"
"I do not!" You interrupted, suddenly shouting, not even bothering to care about the third years who were now openly staring at you.
Dorcas smirked in victory. "Yeah, sure you don’t."
You groaned, dropping your head into your hands. "This can’t be happening to me. It’s been one day since the plan was made!" You whined, half-exasperated, half-amused.
Dorcas gently pried your hands away from your face, her fingers rubbing soothing circles into your knuckles. "You can’t just hold your feelings in. If you like Potter, then so what?" She said gently, trying to comfort you. "Better than that evil witch."
You snorted at that. "I can't, Dorcas. I refuse to like someone who has the craziest ex-girlfriend in all of girlfriend history."
She sighed dramatically, looking at you as if you were the most difficult person in the world. "So what’s your master plan now, huh? Avoid him forever?"
You put on a fake, thoughtful face. "Avoid him," You pondered with a smile. "It’s the only option. Great idea, Dorc!"
Dorcas huffed, shaking her head as she took her hands away from yours. "Yeah, maybe just avoid him," She muttered, clearly not sold on your brilliant plan.
You laughed and stabbed a fork into your eggs. "Exactly."
Before Dorcas could reply, a voice slid in beside her, smooth and familiar. "Isn’t it the prettiest ladies I’ve had the honor of seeing as I awake?" Sirius Black drawled, grinning widely. Dorcas immediately shot him a disgusted look, scooting a few inches away from him.
"What do you want, Black?" You asked, already annoyed before he could even open his mouth again.
"Why do you treat me so horribly when I just want your love?" Sirius exclaimed dramatically, clutching his chest as if you had wounded him deeply.
You couldn’t help but laugh lightly at his antics.
"Are all of the Marauders this dramatic?" Dorcas asked, still eyeing Sirius in distaste.
"Believe it or not, yes," You confirmed, just as someone slid into the seat beside you.
"Good morning," James Potter greeted, flashing you that same sweet smile you had trouble getting out of your head.
You immediately felt a flutter in your chest. Your throat seemed to dry up as you turned to look at him. He looked radiant this morning—like the sun itself had decided to take residence in his smile.
You gulped, your brain scrambling for words. You quickly glanced at Dorcas, who gave you a subtle shake of her head, silently telling you not to do anything rash.
"Morning!" you rushed out, way too eager. You quickly gathered your things, mentally panicking. "I actually have to go study in the library for a while, so I’m just gonna go ahead." You stood quickly, trying to make your escape.
James stood up with you, looking at you with those shining eyes. "I can come with," He offered cheerfully, clearly not reading the room at all.
You shook your head rapidly, desperate to escape the conversation. "No, no! I’ll be fine!" you said a little too quickly, almost tripping over your own feet as you backed away. "I’ll just see you later."
James and Sirius exchanged a curious glance as you rushed off. You breathed a sigh of relief the moment you stepped out of the Great Hall and into the corridor.
Finally, peace and quiet.
But then you heard footsteps behind you. You glanced over your shoulder and saw James Potter jogging to catch up.
"Hey!" He called out, clearly not bothered by your earlier panic. "I decided to come with you since I’ve got nothing to do. Figured we could walk to class together after studying." He said it so cheerfully as if you hadn’t just escaped from his company a few moments ago.
You blinked, speechless. You hadn’t expected him to follow you. You didn’t think it would be this hard to get James Potter off your back.
He matched your pace, the two of you walking side by side in the silence that felt anything but comfortable.
And you couldn’t help but wonder, just for a moment, if your life had just become infinitely more complicated than you had planned.
"So, what did you need to study?" James asked, his hands casually tucked into his pockets as he looked at you with that easygoing grin of his.
You quickly scrambled for an answer, the pressure of his gaze making your mind race. "Astronomy!" You replied a bit too quickly, the excitement in your voice betraying your nerves.
"But you've always been good at Astronomy," James raised an eyebrow, his gaze skeptical as he studied you closely.
You tried to shrug it off, but your voice betrayed you. "I'm afraid the subject's been slowly slipping from me," You said, forcing a smile.
His face softened, the skepticism fading into a more understanding look. "Yeah, Professor Sinistra does tend to move quickly," He said, nodding in agreement. "I even tried to cast a time-slowing spell on her once just to get down all my notes."
You laughed, the image of James trying (and likely failing) to slow down the Professor amusing. "And what did you get in return?" you asked, a teasing grin playing on your lips.
"Two weeks of detention," He said, smirking as if the whole thing was just a funny memory. "Totally worth it though."
You giggled, the sound feeling lighter in your chest. "Of course it was."
You both walked in silence next to each other, making your way towards the library. You were glad that the silence was comfortable but a part of you still thought avoiding James was the best plan.
You went to sit at a table before James rushed over to you, pulling your chair out for you as you rolled your eyes, "Do you just want me to keep calling you a gentleman?"
"A bit," He shrugged as he sat down across from you.
You opened your textbook for Astronomy, actually deciding to do work since you were there anyways.
You noticed James making paper planes and attempting to get them to fly over your head. By the fourth one, it hit you square in the forehead, and you let out a dramatic sigh.
"Do you need me to give you a task?" You asked, eyeing him with a look that could only be described as 'toddler supervision.'
James rested his head on his palm, his gaze staring off into space. "I just think there are more exciting things we could be doing right now," He replied with a bored sigh.
"Like what?" You asked, raising an eyebrow and offering him a light smile.
He thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up with mischief. "I could teach you how to play Quidditch!"
You almost felt sick just hearing the words. You shook your head furiously. "I don't know about that," You said, looking back down at your textbook as if you could will the conversation away.
James grabbed your hand in an exaggerated plea. "Come on, it'll be fun!" He cheered, his enthusiasm making you laugh, but before you could say anything else, the librarian shushed him with a fierce look.
You giggled quietly, "Sorry, James, no," You said firmly, scribbling some notes in your textbook.
James pouted dramatically, laying his head down on the desk in defeat. You studied him for a few moments as he huffed, like a child who hadn't gotten his way.
You rolled your eyes, unable to resist the pull of his antics. "I'm not falling for this."
He continued to pout, his face scrunched in exaggerated misery. He pretended to sniffle dramatically, looking up at you with his big hazel eyes.
"No, James, I mean it," You said, trying to keep your tone firm, but the warmth in your voice betrayed you.
--
And next thing you knew, you were on the Quidditch field.
You yelped loudly as you clung to James’s waist, the wind rushing in your face as he zoomed higher into the sky. "We haven't even made it into the air yet!" James laughed excitedly, clearly having the time of his life as you panicked.
"This is still really high!" You cried out, your grip tightening around him. You dared a glance down and saw the ground growing smaller and more distant by the second.
"Close your eyes, I’ve got you!" James shouted reassuringly, though it still sounded somehow delicate, soothing you.
With a deep breath, you squeezed your eyes shut and gripped him even tighter. The wind whipped around you, but James’s steady hold kept you grounded—physically, at least. When you opened your eyes, the sensation of rising fast into the air filled you with a mix of excitement and dread.
James cheered as you both soared, flipping through the air and spiraling in wide, dizzying motions. You screamed, the wind filling your lungs with cold, sharp air.
But then, as if sensing your panic, James calmed things down, steering the broom to glide slowly over the Black Lake.
You exhaled a long breath, your heart rate slowing as you took in the view. From this height, the lake looked more beautiful than you'd ever seen it before, its surface sparkling in the early morning light.
You rested your cheek against his back, staring down at the glistening water below. "This is really pretty," You murmured, surprised at how peaceful it felt up here.
James chuckled lightly. "It's one of my favorite things to look at when I ride." He smiled, but you could feel his warmth, even through the rush of wind. When you lifted your head to look at him, he glanced back with a grin that seemed to make your heart skip a beat.
"Is this where you disappear to during Quidditch games when you're supposed to be looking for the snitch?" You joked, a teasing lilt in your voice.
James's eyes widened dramatically. "You've figured me out!" he yelled, a laugh bursting from him before he abruptly swerved the broom again, causing you both to spiral upward with another whoosh of wind.
You screamed as you were whipped through the air, but James’s laughter was all you could hear. He cheered as the wind carried you higher, and you couldn’t help but laugh, even as you felt the thrill and panic collide inside you.
Seeing James so excited, gliding through the air, eased most of your fear. His laughter, the way he moved so effortlessly—it was impossible not to feel lighter in his presence.
You hadn’t realized until now how much you wanted to see someone smile like that, so carefree and alive. His joy was infectious, and it made you feel like maybe you were starting to enjoy this too.
James’s grin widened when he saw the way you were watching him. “See? Told you it’s fun up here,” he said, his voice full of that same infectious enthusiasm. He spun the broom gently, making you feel the rush of wind again, and for the first time, you didn’t mind it.
You met his gaze, a soft smile tugging at your lips. “Yeah, it’s amazing up here,” You admitted.
James’s smile softened as he gently lowered both of you to the ground. You carefully dismounted the broom, your legs still a little shaky from the ride.
As James went to put the broom back in its rightful place, you glanced at your watch—(yes, you had actually bought one)—and your heart dropped. "Shit! James, we’re going to be late!" You yelled, rushing toward him.
He immediately sprinted over as you tossed his bag at him with a hurried "Sorry!" You grabbed yours, slinging it over your shoulder before running up the stairs.
After what felt like an eternity of climbing, you stopped at the first landing to catch your breath.
James huffed, leaning on the railing. "Maybe we should just skip," He suggested, looking at you with a mischievous glint.
You shot him a death glare as the stairs shifted back into place, urging him to hurry. "Not an option, Potter!"
You both barely made it to class, arriving two minutes late. Professor Adair gave you both a disappointed look and gestured to the empty seats in the front. The entire class seemed to turn toward you, exchanging curious glances.
James leaned over and whispered, "Hey, you did great today."
You flushed, feeling a little flustered. "Thanks," You mumbled, half of you still recovering from the flying.
"Think I can have a spot on the team?" You asked, grinning at him.
James grinned back. "Oh, for sure. Your flying skills are impeccable," He said, his tone light and teasing.
"Be careful, Potter. I might take your spot as Seeker." You nudged him, half-joking, but his hand squeezed your thigh lightly in response.
You were about to respond when you saw your friends walking toward you, with Emma trailing behind them. The glare she shot you could've melted stone, and you couldn't help but feel a bit of unease.
"And why were you two late?" Lily asked, her voice mock-stern.
"Well, Mom, we were out flying," James said with a dramatic pout, making you laugh.
Lily looked at you, wide-eyed. "You went flying?"
"How did you make her do that?" Remus asked, half-sitting on his chair in front of you as Sirius snored, head resting on his shoulder.
"I don’t think I’ve ever even seen Y/N jump ," Marlene chimed in, snickering.
You shot her a look, but the corner of your lips twitched. "It was a one-time thing."
"Oh, yeah?" James smirked, nudging you with his shoulder. "I think there’s still more flying to do," He teased, and you giggled.
Your friends exchanged suspicious glances, but Emma’s sour expression cut through the moment. She stepped forward, eyes fixed on James, her voice syrupy sweet. "Well, we’re thinking about going to Hogsmeade tonight," she said, ignoring you completely.
"Sounds fun," You said casually, but Emma’s smile faltered slightly.
Sirius yawned, not looking up from where he was practically asleep on Remus’s shoulder. "So, are you two in?"
James looked at you with a grin. "If M’lady is."
"Sure, why not?" You responded lightly.
Emma looked like she was about to cast the Killing Curse right there, but she held it together, forcing a fake smile. "Great, it’s a date," She said, her eyes burning into you.
You had a feeling that tonight was going to be very interesting.

When a tree falls over in the forest and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
You'd call bull.
But when one of the pillars of Undercity topples over...the whole of Zaun goes to shit. And everyone can feel it, see it — hell, hearing it isn't even the half of it.
For the masses, chaos ensured as there was now a massive power vacuum for the spot he once held. Things were going belly up, both under and topside. It seemed almost as if it was the end of the world, just as it felt like a bad dream — no — a damn nightmare. For the Undercity, it was utter madness and a power struggle. For Topside, it was mourning and brewing with panic as well as sadness after an attack on their pinnacle of life — the sudden attack on their councilors.
For you, it was as if the world stopped. As if the oxygen in your lungs was suddenly taken.
For you, the world was truly ending.
With the only person who even cared about your pitiful existence gone, what was left for you now?

The doors of the Last Drop swung inwards as your shoulder bashed against it, knocking them open with reckless abandon. You knew that set of doors had been through far worse in its days. Still standing the test of time and against every sober man ready to get drunk, business Zaunite, outsider, or enforcer pigs that pushed through them.
Stumbling your way to the bar, you looked worse for wear with every step you took. Blood stained your clothes, some fresh and dripping off your fingers, most sinking into the fabric of your clothes and sticking to your skin. Some of the ruddy fluid even flecked against the side of your face, either from someone you injured — and most likely killed — or from your own injuries that could barely be seen past the layers of dark clothing you wore.
Anyone who'd laid eyes would stand back and away from your battleworn form, as you looked to be in no mood to speak with the likes of anyone that was still there at those ungodly hours.
Whatever hazardous music that blaring from the jukebox sounded like sirens howling in your ears, an irritable grunt leaving your split lips. You had half a mind to stomp over there and kick the damn thing down, but what would be the point?
You barely wanted any more attention drawn to you as it was. It wasn't as if you were going to stay mingle, not with hell practically brewing on the horizon and spilling into the Undercity every minute of the day now.
You could care less for whatever poor sod that was shoved or knocked over while hobbling your way over towards the bar, you weren’t in the mood to deal with any more problems, your plate already overflowing as is. Your body swayed, nearly tipping over as you snagged a bottle from the countertop — whether the bartender left it out or someone who was ransacking just forgot about it — it was now yours for the night.
Making your way past the bar, you stumbled to get up the stairs, shoulder knocking into the wall with every small trip before you finally got to his office door. Slowly lifting your dominant foot up, your grime coated boot made contact with the door, kicking it in, now finding yourself in the somewhat lit room known as Silcos’ office.
A shot of pain seemed to surge through your abdomen — a subtle reminder of your current injuries — as you hobbled over towards the chair in front of the desk, pulling it back before plopping yourself down in it.
You slumped back, one arm lazed over the back of the chair and the other holding the bottle of booze, hanging loosely between your legs. Your bloodshot eyes scanned the desk in front of you, looking at the various tools and objects scattered along it, including a rather colorful ashtray, a mug, the mapping of Zaun and its regions, and a turned shot glass.
You could hear the slightest squeak come from the spinning chair in front of you before a voice came into focus. “You look a mess. I don’t pay you to lead a trail of blood to my door.”
“You don’t pay me shit, don’t fuck with me today. Not in the mood,” you sneered, taking a swig out of the bottle as your eyes gazed over the back of the ruddy colored chair. Leaning back into your own wooden chair, you could feel the freshly stitched skin on your waist start to stretch, a fresh dose of pain making your eyes flutter. “Bozos’ out there are rioting at this point. Can’t even get a handle on my own fucking people now with these petty turf wars.”
“And who’s fault is that?”
“Yours damn it!” You yelled out, standing up faster than your mind could register. Slamming your hand down against the desk, lightheadedness took over before you stumbled back, catching yourself on the chair as you slumped into it once again.
The world started to spin and a wave of nausea hit you like a train, a familiar buzzing flaring behind your eyes. You clutched against the neck of the bottle you were now nursing, lifting it up to your lips before letting it go down like water. The taste alone was starting to become a numb sensation, the burn you once felt against the back of your throat and the warm that normally swirled and swarmed in your chest faded a long time ago.
Your eyes felt heavy, as if you were going to pass out at any moment. The pain that not only surged through your stitched abdomen, but tore through your shoulder seemed to keep you grounded. Your free hand came up to touch against your left shoulder, finger dipping into what felt like a hole just below your collar and near your armpit. You taken plenty of bullets in your day, though the one currently in you was causing you more misery.
But in a sick way, you wanted it to stay. The pain nothing but a reminder.
The suit on your body looked tattered and torn, noticeable even with the dark colors you happened to adorn. The tie around your neck was undone and the fabric torn, your collar messily put together, just like the rest of you. Your vest was singed as well as part of your dark dress shirt, the straps against your chest and over your shoulders with your gun holsters tucked under your arms, were dirtied and worn. Your face was just as badly roughed up as your clothes, maybe worse.
“You’ve let yourself go.” There was a sigh at the end of his voice, sounding with disappointment. “You let a matter so feeble practically turn you into a stray mutt begging for scraps, yet biting any hand that offers.”
“You didn’t complain when this mutt was fighting for you.” The tension that seemed to settle in the front of your head was making it much harder to concentrate, a groan leaving your lips.
“And yet you ate out of my palm like a domesticated beast. I am not complaining, I’m stating a fact.”
You rolled your bloodshot eyes as you looked down at the bottle in hand, the neon lights refracting into the bottle, giving it a mirror like glare that shone back at you. In the garbled reflection in the bottle, you could see your completely disheveled hair, out of place, stray strands falling in front of your face — some your natural hair color — some with streaks of gray from either your continued age or stress. For all you knew, it was the combination of both. There were dark lines under your eyes, eyes that seemed to no longer hold any light like they used to.
Your tongue ran over your split lip, tasting the once dried blood as you grinned at your reflection, giving off a half hearted chuckle before gripping the neck of the bottle even tighter, the veins in your arm bulging and your knuckles growing pale from the stress of skin being stretched.
The chair gave off a small squeak again, the flick of a light barely getting your attention. “Seems you have found comfort in a bottle. For a while now, I assume? You say, ‘just one drink to get me up’ then it’s, ‘just one drink to get me through the day’, which turns into…”
Suddenly the sound of glass shattering filled the room, your chest rising and falling with extremes as you glared up towards the chair. “You don’t get to judge me! No, no — you, you don’t get that right! Not any more!” You once again stumbled to your feet, practically leaning over the desk, one hand holding the edge while the other reached into your locking before pulling out a switchblade.
He let out a scoff of a laugh as he heard the blade flick open. “Your temper will get you nowhere. You bare your teeth, but you wouldn’t dare bite me.”
“My fucking temp— as if you ever cared about that before!” You slammed the blade into the desk, embedding it within the wood before practically snaring. “This is all your damn fault! I’ve…I have done so, damn, much to keep everything from falling apart! Yet here I am back here asking for your help!” You couldn't help but to let out a harsh laugh, your words slurring. “Damn it, even Sevika is out here charging into the front line to defend you a…and your damned beliefs!”
“I never told you to carry this burden.”
“I know!” You cried out, slamming your hand into the desk yet again, the throbbing now surging through your palm nothing in comparison to the pain that seemed to ache in your chest. “I never asked for this! This…This responsibility! This was your shtick! This was your idea, of…of Zaun, to finally be this independent city of fuck all! And yet you up and…and just leave us when shit hits the fan! Why!” Your voice slowly started to shake, breaking away from it's normal stern, bold state. “Why did you suddenly up and leave when you know I need you!”
Silence came in response.
You looked down and balled your hand up, trembling as it pressed into the desk. “Why,” you croaked out quietly, the power that once filled your voice disappeared as the polluted feeling that fogged your heart started to seep into your lungs yet again, taking your breath away, as if you were being deprived of oxygen.
“I don't...I don't understand.” Your head low, staring at no spot in particular as you drawlled on. “You were…always, always careful. Maybe a little in over your head, but who isn't down here. Everyone knew the price to go against you, so why? What…What happened?” Your question seemed to fill the room with a stale silence that was there from the beginning, desperately waiting for his voice to come, for that chair to spin and for him to reply with some strong winded monologue.
But there was nothing.
Your heart took another blow, aching in a way that made you want to carve it out of your chest with the very blade you wedged into the wood. To crush it with your own hands. At least then you wouldn't have to worry about the feelings that were overwhelming your drunken form. “Why…” You echoed. Your voice seemed to go dry as you questioned again, your vision blurring for a moment before a stinging warmth dripped down your cheek, splashing down into the map below.
You stood there, frozen, hunched over the desk while slowly moving a hand up to your face before gliding your fingers across your skin, feeling the wetness yet again.
Were you crying?
It started as a small laugh, a hiccup, growing into a small wheeze and snicker, all before your laugh escalated drastically. Your voice rang through the room as you belted out an almost hysterical fit of laughter, blinded by my tears in your eyes as your laugh turned into broken sobs. “The first time in years! I cry…over you!”
You laughed again, pushing yourself off the desk before falling back into the chair you were once in, nearly tipping back completely as your legs kicked and sprawled out before you.
You felt as if you were drowning, unable to surface no matter how hard you tried. The water around you suffocating you, choking you till you were completely deprived of air, constricting your lungs and flooding it with poison, toxins that flowed in the waters within the Lanes. The filth you were born in, the fire you'd die in.
Your hands went up to your face, the heels of your palm pressing against your sunken eyes to stop the sudden flow of tears, like acid against your skin.
Your arms then fell limply to your sides, as if you'd gone boneless. Your eyes drifted towards the ceiling, childish laughter echoing in the back of your mind as soft blue streaks blink in and out of existence.
“We…We are so fucked.” You'd closed your eyes, wishing that darkness could consume you whole in that very moment, that the pain would suddenly come to an end. It was as if the whole world was against you, all at once. Only he knew how to handle situations like this, always there to see over the Undercity, always keeping things in line.
He kept you from falling apart.
And yet here you were.
In a hole that you were unable to climb out of, fragmented and shattered.
“Sevika is doin’ her best. You know that, she's one of your best after all. My own people are going off and indulging in these dumb turf wars with the other barons while I'm trying to pick up the pieces that you left.” Your hand brushed against a broken shard of the bottle you'd destroyed, the liquid still sticking to its surface.
“Smeech, that dirty, ugly looking weasel. Trying to act like a big shot now. They know not to mess with me but…I don't know. The fight you saw in me, it's just…just gone.” You then cursed out, a sudden reminder that flashed in the forefront of your mind.
“And Jinx, god—” Your heart ached even more for the poor girl. You knew the relationship those two had, and as much as you tried to keep yourself from forming a bond, you were practically there from the beginning.
When she was born, when she lost her mother on that bridge, when she lost her entire family, when she gained a new one.
It was a shame that you knew she'd seen you as father figure as much as Silco was, maybe even more. Growing up, she'd gotten the normal lectures from Silco but you inspired her, helped her with her gadgetry. But when she was older, bolder, you knew she wasn't that little girl anymore. The nights she cried and screamed in her sleep, nightmares about that dreaded day, etched into your mind. Crying out for her sister, of all people.
“She's your…She's your daughter! How could you damn it!” The heat in your eyes seemed to get worse as more tears wanted to rise and fall down your face, but you refused to shed more tears. “I can't take care of her! I mean — I know, she's grown up! She can take care of herself, but you know she can't do this without you! You were her everything!” You could feel the anger rising in your chest yet again, making your vision turn red.
Was this your punishment? For sitting back and watching as her world was destroyed? For not stepping in when you knew Silco had taken it too far. Him and Vander, they were practically brothers, the same ideals, fighting for the same cause just as you did. Wanting freedom from the trenches, from being treated like scum compared to Topside.
And yet everything went to hell after she died. After Powder's mother was killed. Her kids…those kids...they deserved better. Vander deserved better.
Silco deserved better.
If this was your punishment for turning a blind eye, for ignoring the blood that had been on your hands for too long — this was too much for you to bear alone. Too ruthless of a punishment to last.
“She's a mess without you…you know that. I don't know what to do, I'm not…I'm not like you. I'm not a good role model, hell you turned out to be a really great father. How could I top that? I…I don't know what to do, what to say to her—”
You bit against your lips harshly, tasting your own blood against your tongue yet again. “You were always the better one of us when it came to speaking. Hell, even holding a conversation. At least you normally had the last words.” The silence was deafening.
You knew you were using her name as nothing but a scapegoat towards your actual feelings, not ashamed, but feeling unworthy of claiming them. Just as you felt unworthy of him.
Gripping onto the shard in your hand, you brought it to your face, looking at the sharpened point before looking down at your arm. At first, it was a simple line, feeling like nothing more than a paper cut, but you'd started to put more pressure on the shard. The slow drags raised your skin, splitting it and blood bubbling up to the surface.
You didn't stop, ignoring the stinging bite that came with it as the piesce of glass twisted and turned. Once you were done, you watched the blood tilt in the direction your arm did, looking at the bloodied word now etched into your skin.
“If only it was this easy, y’know? To numb the feelings you left me with. The pain…you left me with. This fucking burden — of emotions I never, never asked for.” You were tempted to make another line, to cross out the — his name — entirely, but the strength in you was completely gone.
What was the point of continuing?
Everything around you was already burning?
Why not sit and burn with it?
You could feel yourself blurring in and out of consciousness as you once again called out for him.
“Please…say something, Silco. I don't…I don't know what to do! Everyone is talking, whispering, saying shit that doesn't make any sense! But, to hear that you're gone? That…that you might be somewhere dead?” You scoffed. “Call me crazy, but I'd rather hear about you running away like a coward than dead. But that isn't you, is it?”
You laughed an almost sickening laugh before muttering to yourself. “Just like…Just like Vander. Vander went on a long trip, away from here, with his kids, never to be seen again…”
Sitting up, you couldn't help but to stare at the unoccupied desk in front of you, your eyes drifting up to the empty chair once again. You stared, blinked and stared at that fucking chair, all before letting out the most gutteral, painful, ear piercing scream you could let out. Your lungs burned as you let out every bit of rage and pain and suffering you could, your mind flashing with images of him.
By the time your scream died down, your own ears were ringing as before slumped over once more, your vision starting to dot with black spots from how hard you'd pushed yourself in those few moments.
You sniffled lazily wiping against your nose as your eyes fell shut, too heavy to lift as you desperately clawed towards unconsciousness, for darkness to take all what light remained, leaving you with nothing.
Just as it currently was, just as it'll always be.
You could still smell him now, the scent alone making a small smile appear on your face. The cologne he wore in mix with the cigars he smoked, clinging onto his clothes and practically staining the room in his scent.
“You know better than to take such a pathetic way out. You've got too much fight. I should know…” His voice settled in the back of your mind as you felt his arms slip over your shoulders, tilting your head over as his hands gently framed against your jaw. “You are not a helpless mutt, you got around just fine without me before. What difference is there now.” The ghosting feeling of his touch made you shudder, breath hitching and your heart racing.
“You've become my weakness…” You muttered, eyes still closed as your head gently bobbed up and down, trying to keep balance so as to not tip or lean out of the chair. Your eyes only cracked some, the world coming in twos.
His voice curled around your ear, speaking to you in the only way you knew how. “You've truly convinced yourself so far, when really, we both know you feel nothing.”
“You feel nothing.” You echoed.
“You feel nothing.” He repeated.
“You feel nothing.”
Your eyes peeled open to an empty room yet again, the phantom scent still burnt into your nose and the voice echoing in the back of your mind. Your eyes were dull and liifeless as you stared at the chair once again. “I swear Silco…I swear, I'll find whoever did this to you. To us. I'll make them pay for the suffering they've caused all of us...” The aching in your chest seemed to fade, though the physical pain still lingered.
You took a cigar out of your breast pocket, one that he'd given you the last time you'd shared words together, a drink together, before seeing his — your daughter, half dead on the bridge you'd all once fought on together. Seeing her in such a state, it felt like the cycle of hurt was never ending. That the suffering seemed to continue.
You'd never seen Silco so distraught, panicked, desperate. And once again, you turned a blind eye to others pain. You knew that he'd went to the doctor, and you knew Singe would do more damage than good — from the man who made Shimmer, such a drug that even you fell victim to just to forget. To forget the pain, to forget the struggles, to forget him.
You'd then taken out the lighter, a familiar click ringing in the air. It was a trophy, something you'd borrowed from Sevika from time to time, Finns lighter being one of the few things you liked about him before his timely death. A deserved death. A vulture trying to pull a lioness like Sevika to betray Silco. It was truly his loss, blindsided and put down like the damned dog he was..
The flame lit up the end of the cigar, the embers burning with a mix of a purple and pinkish hue as you took a long drag. You could feel the a wave of power course through you, burning in your lungs but dulling the pain in your body. The high you got from shimmer from even the smallest amount was enough to sustain you, sobering you up enough to think. Your eyes seemed to glow just the dimmest of violet hues before returning to their normal state. Letting out a huff of smoke from your mouth, you spoke aloud once again.
“For her…for fucking Zaun.”
You then stumbled your way out of the room that you'd wreaked havoc in, closing the door gently behind you. You knew you'd barely make it out the front door, better to pass out downstairs than out in the streets. Not like anyone would be looking for you in the basement.
But what you were acutely unaware of was the person sitting with her back against the beam in the rafters, a hand over her mouth as her violet eyes watched your form finally leave the room.
Oh, the misery.

Don't do this to me right now 😭😭😭
Breaking the cycle
Warning ⚠️; Grief, quick mention of child abuse, trauma, angst, past character death, let me be delusional. Spoils for Arcane all seasons.
Pairing: Silco/Male!Reader, Jinx & Male!Reader (Father Figure)
Summary; you were angry and hurt after the death of Silco, your lover and partner, by the hands of your adopted daughter Jinx. So you just walked away, needing time to heal. But how could a father stay away when his daughter needs him?
~~~~~~~~
You never imagined a life without Silco in it. From your time in the mine to now, he has always been there. Either by your side, in your shadow or his name being on someone’s lips. You couldn't recall a time without him except when you were a kid.
He had always gotten your back and you his. You had stopped counting the times you took care of his injuries or how many times Silco stitched you up. You almost lost him, still having nightmares about it even after his death.
You remembered how bloody and raw his face had been. You thought he was done for, but he had lived. Lived and with you had taken care of that ankle biter. Jinx had been a daughter to you the second you were introduced to her as you saw so much of yourself in her. She was a bundle of joy to you.
But now she was the reason of your greatest pain.
As Silco once said “Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?” and the answer was no. No there wasn't. For he had died by the hand of your own daughter.
You remembered screaming at the sight of Silco’s dead body as your heart and soul broke. His skin had been so cold when you cradled him in your arms, rocking and trying to wake up from that nightmare. Jinx had been crying, begging for forgiveness.
But you only felt anger and betrayal toward her. How could she after everything Silco had done and sacrificed for her? She was your only child and in a tantrum, she killed the only person who ever truly loved you.
How could you forgive her?
You had left, needing space away from her. Away from everything so you could heal and accept the reality. Easier said than done. Each morning you wake up cold in an empty bed, in a place filled with silence. Gone is the smell of cigars, makeup and coffee during the morning and it leaves a deeper hole in your heart.
The worst are the dreams and nightmares. The nightmares haunt you with the memories of the past of the mistakes you made. The dream teases you with a reality that isn't yours anymore. Like waking up next to Silco, being able to touch his face once more or kiss him one more time.
Either way, you always wake up crying, breaking more with each passing night.
Before you knew it, months had passed. You kept an ear out, listening to the news. Jinx was still being herself, but the tensions also grew. Even in your hole, you could feel it. It was a question of time before a single act blew everything up and conflict would turn into a bloody mess.
When you came back to your senses, grief still clouding your mind, you felt ashamed. You had turned your back on Jinx when she too was hurt by her own actions. You didn't know what to do, how to approach her and ask for forgiveness.
You wrote letter after letter, throwing away each one of them, disliking them. You couldn't find the right words until you stopped trying. You tried to explain to her how you felt, that you didn't hate her and forgave her just like Silco would have. You asked for her forgiveness for how you just treated her, knowing damn well you didn't deserve it.
After sending it, there was no answer.
Through the great vines, you learn that Jinx had taken a little girl under her arm. A child she had named Isha. Isha, what a sweet name you thought the first time you heard it. Jinx was still the kindhearted girl you remembered her to be and you were glad she had someone by her side even if it was a mute child.
Staying in the shadows, you watched over her. She seemed happy with that little girl, a spark coming back in her eyes. It was clear Jinx saw the kid as her sister, but that child saw her as more than that.
Jinx never noticed you, but Isha did. She came to you a few times and you always gave her a little something. Food, toys and even her own little gun once. Her smile reminded you of Jinx’s when she was little before Vi left. Maybe that was why Jinx kept her around, because Isha was just like her and she knew how to take care of the little girl.
You had wished to take your time coming back into Jinx’s life, but things took a wrong turn and you were forced to act quickly. The battle against Warwick took you by surprise, more than it should have. Why you didn't see it coming, you didn't know, but you showed up.
How couldn't you when your daughter was there, risking her life? But you didn't see her. Didn't see either her hair or heard her voice and you feared you had been too late. That she had died before you could ask for her forgiveness.
Then you heard her scream and just ran.
You saw a little flash of blue as Jinx screamed Isha’s name. The child looked at you as she passed you, running, a gun in her hands. Your blood turned to ice as you immediately knew what she was going to do.
You turned on your heels and followed after her. You were an adult, taller and larger than Isha and, more importantly, slower. But you managed to make your way through the battle and reach her as Isha raised her weapon. You snatched the damn thing from her and threw it in the air. Before it fell back down you took Isha in your arms and booked it.
Your legs and lungs hurt as you ran away, little hands grabbing your clothes. You gasped when the explosion happened, the blow hitting you in the back. You wrapped your arms around the child, trying to shield Isha as much as you could. Your body hit the ground with a loud thud and you felt your shoulder give up, dislocation.
Dust filled your mouth and nose, making you cough and sneeze. But so did Isha.
You opened your eyes, grimacing with pain before looking down. The kid was crying, her little hands rubbing her face. You sighed in relief seeing her unarmed. Unlike you. But you didn't care.
You slowly sat down hearing running footsteps coming towards you. You sat the kid on your lap still making sure she really wasn't hurt. Your shoulder was killing you, but you ignored the pain when Isha smiled at you before hugging you.
- “ISHA!” Jinx’s scream surprised you and you both looked in her direction.
Jinx was running toward you, her long braids bouncing all around the place. Tears rolled down her eyes you saw as she fell onto her knees next to you. You never got the chance to talk, your daughter wrapping her arms around you and Isha before she broke down crying.
You embraced her, letting her melt and snuggle against you. You weren't better as you began to cry as well, asking for her forgiveness. Jinx just nodded, whispering that you had nothing to be sorry about.
You closed your eyes, just wanting to savour the moment, but the next thing you knew darkness actually swallowed you up. You woke up on a comfortable bed, a small ball of heat pressed against your side. Groaning, you looked at what it was only to find Isha sleeping next to you. Her helmet had fallen from her head to the floor, but her hand still grabbed onto you. Little snores left her mouth and you smiled, passing a hand in her hair.
- “You are awake.” Jinx's voice almost scared the shit out of you and you froze, looking to the side.
Your daughter looked tired, like she hadn't slept in days. Maybe it was the case since you didn't know how long you were out. There was sadness and fear in her eyes as her gaze shifted to Isha. The sweet thing was unbothered.
- “Yeah. I guess I am.” You whispered, slowly blinking. “Jinx, sweety I…”
- “Don’t. Don’t say you are sorry. You have no reason to be, I understand. I got your letters I… just never knew what to reply and where to send them.” She cut you off, her fingers pinching the skin around her nails. “Thanks for saving Isha. I… I don't know…”
Tears filled her eyes and you offered her your hand. Jinx took it and you squeezed her delicate hand in your. You knew what she meant as you felt the same. Losing Silco had been painful, the worst pain you ever felt, but the thought of Jinx dying? Of losing your daughter to the cold embrace of death?
Oh, that sort of pain was unbearable. You wouldn't be able to keep living in a world without her.
- “I know princess, I know. That is why I was there, for you. I didn't want to lose you like that, not before asking for your forgiveness. I never should have left. I abandoned you when you needed me the most and I'll never forgive myself.” You said, voice low as to not wake up the kid.
Jinx dried her eyes before almost jumping into the bed. She dropped on your other side, arms around you as she buried her face in your unhurt shoulder. You grimaced a bit, body still sore, but wrapped your arm around her.
- “You are my daughter and you'll aways be. Nothing will change that, Jinx, okay?” You whispered in her hair as she nodded.
- “You scared me. When you lost consciousness I thought you just dropped dead. I thought… I thought I had lost you again.”
Her voice shivered as she fought back her tears. You closed your eyes, kissing her head. You didn't want to think about it. You weren't scare to die, but you also didn't want to leave Jinx alone with a child in her charge.
- “I’m sorry. I never meant to scare you so much.” You said, stroking her hair.
- “That's a lot of sorry…” She whispered and you snorted.
- “Yeah, I have a lot to be sorry about… What about the kid? How’s Isha doing?” You asked, turning your attention toward the sleeping girl.
- “Hadn't left your side ever since we got you here. She helped me take care of your wounds and your shoulder. I don't think she like the sound of dislocated shoulders.”
- “You didn't either at her age.”
She laughed and you smiled.
- “Dad… are you…” She mumbled, unable to fully ask her question but you knew what it was.
- “I am not going anywhere. I came back home, I came back for you and Isha.” You replied and Jinx relaxed against you as if you had taken the weight of the world off her shoulders. “But the kid is still your responsibility. You took her in, you are raising her.”
- “Too young to be a mom!” She whined and you chuckled.
- “Then be a big sister to her. Like I said, I ain't leaving you alone. We will manage. After all, me and Silco raised you well enough. I bet I can do it again.”
Jinx had tensed when you mentioned Silco but quickly relaxed again. She nodded and wrapped her arms tighter around you.
- “Sleep. You need it as much as I do.” You whispered and Jinx denied it.
Yet, it wasn't long until your daughter was fast asleep against you. You looked down at her, admiring the woman she was becoming. You were glad you had managed to save Isha, not liking the idea of her death destroying Jinx. She had lost so much, losing that kid would have been the last straw.
You fell asleep soon as well, wondering if Silco was watching over your little family from the other side. You felt a wave of sadness at the though of Isha never knowing Silco but chased the thought away.
Even if he was dead, you weren’t and you would make sure to share memories of him and Jinx’s childhood with Isha.
You fell asleep with a smile on your lips being finally back home.
“Can I have that mind on me for just one night?” I ignore his bitchy tone towards me as we walk down the pier. ¿Really?!” He throws his free hand up in the air in despair. “Am I the bad guy for wanting to spend some time with my girlfriend?” I stomp my foot and freeze at the spot. Rafe notices when my hand pulls him back. The sun had already set while we walked along the beach all evening. I know he has the right to be mad, to be truthful I have been spending more time with the Pogues. We keep looking at each other, his eyes cold looking at me. I can’t tell him about the situation my friends are in at the moment, if he finds out then he would do everything not to let me out of his sight. I let out a sigh and slowly walked closer to him.
“You got all my attention, Rafe” I smile, moving my hands up to pull his face closer. “I will stop being an ass, okay?” He groans, placing a kiss on my lips before turning around and continuing walking.
“You coming?” I hear as he steps away, and I rush over to catch up to him. I slip my hand back in his and the other grip his forearm embracing it.
“So where are you taking me to eat?” I glance around the many restaurants on the pier. “Burgers?”
“They don’t have the fries you like,” I groan. Burgers should never be eaten alone.
“Sushi?" I asked less excitedly.
“You don’t like sushi” he says in a duh tone shaking his head.
“I know, but you do” He chuckles. “What about BBQ?” He instantly shakes his head.
“Too messy” It was my turn to laugh. He knows I like BBQ, but he also knows how the after smell lingers as it is messy and gets all over my fingers.
“Steak?” I pointed at the restaurant with sitting inside. Open outdoor area where you can see the boats go by.
“You don’t usually do meat,” I know he didn’t say it in double sense, but it makes me laugh. “But they do have salmon” He points out on the menu. “Shall we?” I give him a nod when he turns over to me for approval. Soon he is guiding us towards an outdoor table.
“This is nice,” I commented.
“Hey guys, my name is Cindy, and I will be your waitress tonight.” She smiles big, setting down the menus on the table. “Can I start you off with a drink?”
“Yes,” I didn’t even mind opening the menu knowing what I wanted already. I looked over to Rafe who was ordering. “Two waters and a coke” Cindy smiles and walks away.
“So,” I asked, a smile lingering on my lips.
“¿Yes?” A bit of scolding in his eyes. I held back a chuckle seeing him so stern. He leaned back, crossing his arms.
“I know I have been spending too much time with the Pogues since their return but until now you never cared much for taking me out on a date,” His gaze fell. It hurts a little as he comes to terms with my words. It was true, yes, he was sweet and nice to me but when we were with his friends or at a party he wouldn’t pay attention to me. And if it wasn’t for a party or with his friends, we would never hang out. Sarah was the one who introduced me to the Pogues and since then when Rafe didn’t need me, I would hang out with them. Rafe moves forwards grabbing my hand.
“I know I have been an asshole,” I scoff, nodding my head while he gives me a stare.
“Sorry, go on.” I smile cheekily leaning forward to show I was giving him my full attention.
“I should have known when you only held close to me anywhere, we went that you weren’t there for the attention that comes with being with me. But then there were these stupid people putting ideas in my head and with my dad-” I instantly move around the table and take a seat on his lap bringing him into a hug. “I was going through so much I didn’t know how to let you in, and I knew if I did I-, that would probably be the end of us” I could help but smile. The warmth his words caused was all I could ask for right now. I grab his face and make him look up to me. His brow furrowed, worried about my responses while his hands held on tightly around my waist.
“I wished you would have told me what you were going through, I wish that I could have helped you, Rafe.” He shakes his head.
“I would never want to put you through seeing me like that,” I know what he was referring to. While Rafe shut me off from time to time, I would not let that affect my day to day. During the day I was either at school or working but at night I was crying and missing him like crazy. Sarah taking me with the Pogues made me realize my day shouldn’t be wrapped around Rafe, although that didn’t stop me from missing him. I wasn’t stupid when I heard people talk about Rafe and Barry, but it was due to the Pogues that maybe I was naive to fight more for him. Rafe pulls me closer leaning his forehead against mine. “Then I saw you with the Pogues and how you laughed. How carefree you were on the boat with them, even just sitting by the bonfire you seemed happier.” How stupid of me. “So, I made a deal that no one was going to make you happier than me.” I laughed wrapping my arms around his neck.
“So cheesy” I tease. I feel the vibration from his chest as he lets out a quick chuckle.
“Shut it,” He groans, pulling back a bit. I bit my lip as our eyes spoke for each other. He had such a beautiful smile. I move forward to whisper beside his ear.
“How about you take me away from here and make me?” His big rough hand travel up my back to slightly grip the skin-,
“Ma’am?” We both looked up seeing the waitress standing there with our drinks. “Please?” She motioned for me to take my seat.
“Yeah,” I say shyly, rushing over. I notice Rafe fixing himself as he picks the menu again. “Thank you” I say once she places our drinks on the table.
“Also,” The waitress calls on to us as she points to the side of the restaurant, “Caught them sneaking in, said they knew you two” I almost burst out laughing seeing Rafe’s reaction. Pope, John B and JJ waved at us innocently.
“They're like lost puppies” He whispers disapprovingly.
“Rafe,” I warned, giving him a smile to try and weaken his heart.
“Fine,” He finally groaned. “Put it on my card,” I could squeal out of happiness.
“Wait!” I screamed behind the waitress. “To go orders only” Cindy nods and continues to walk away.
“You don’t want them to join us?” He knew I wanted them too but I also understood this wasn’t time for the Pogues so I shook my head. “Good” He grabs the menu again and starts scanning through it.
“Rafe,” I leaned forward one more time. His menu lowered, looking at me with an unamused stare. “Thank you,” playfully say. Without moving his eyes away from mine he set the menu on the table and leaned forward.
“Don’t get used to it.” He lowers his voice and with a mischievous grin he tilts his head. “I am more than willing to pay for you, do anything for you, but that's because I get to have you all to myself at night” I know I should be somewhat offended, but my core was loving it.
“Thanks buddy!” JJ plants his hands on both of Rafe's shoulders pushing him back into his seat. Pope and John B, walk over holding on to bags of food.
“Yeah, it was nice of you,” Pope adds. John B only nods, of course he still doesn’t like Rafe.
“I will say it if you guys don’t” JJ continues. “Whether we like it or not you are going to be around for a while,” I sat back already annoyed at whatever else he was going to say. “Whether in a relationship with our girl-” Rafe’s brows furrowed. “Or while John B is macking with your sister-” oh no, I don’t like where this is going. “You are somewhat family” He ends his speech happily looking at the other Pogues for approval but there was none.
“Get out” I say sternly, mainly looking at JJ. “Out” I repeat and John B nods, taking JJ by the arm and dragging him out.
“Thanks again,” Pope quickly says, running behind the other two boys. I look over worried but surprised to find Rafe smiling while shaking his head.
“I am going to pretend that never happened and look at the bright side” I raise my brow, unable to see how that happened. He looks towards me and smiles, “If a bit of money and my sister are the price to pay to have you all to myself, then I can handle that” I roll my eyes shaking my head.
“Ready to order?” Rafe smirks, nodding his head.
“I will have the steak, medium well and she will have the Salmon,” I would be lying if I didn’t feel pride. To have Rafe with me. As he orders my food and takes care of me. If this makes me less of a feminist so, be it, I am a sucker for this man. “And add a side of fries” Yeah, I would kneel for this man.
A sneak peek into a short SCP au I've been playing with which will feature D-Class Reader and SCP-Anarchy :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You know the drill by now. Head down. Eyes front. Mouth shut.
You’ve walked this path to the lifts a hundred times before.
“SCP-Eight, One, Oh, Three~,” Mullins sing-songs, entirely too cheerful all of a sudden, “This one just came in. The Lab coats don’t know nothin’ about it. And guess who’s the lucky little D-Scuzz who gets to ‘further the advancement of science?”
Although your body trembles like a leaf in a hurricane, you don’t make a sound, not even when the moisture in your eyes wells up into a fat, salty teardrop and breaks over the dam of your lash line, carving a damp path down your grubby cheek.
An unknown SCP?
Your odds of making it to the end of the day in one piece have just plummeted into the single digits.
The Devil’s Tongue (pt. 3)
a/n: i’m alive! i have been busy for the past few months and have been struggling with my health, but i’m doing okay. i’m here. i never forget about you guys. here’s part 3 of the devil’s tongue. hope you enjoy. i kinda forgot how to use tumblr for a second, but it’s all coming back to me. 💚
warnings: smut, heavy implied smut, dirty talk, horny reader, nerdy michael stalking, profanity
Another set of roses.
This was the second week of full package right outside of your doorstep at the dorm, brick television blasted through the walls, and those who live nearby could hear it.
“Who the fuck delivered this shit?” you asked aloud, ludicrous.
You were hoping for new packages of big dildos. But who the hell delivered flowers at night while you’re deeply focused on finishing a boss battle on a Kingdom Hearts game?
Obviously somebody annoying, you assumed, but it comes with a certain consequences and package.
Since you garnered more attention from males audience, you have received more than $1000, each day before classes, and nights before going to sleep, less stressed, less fucked out.
Lets still sore, and your pussy getting pounded by a plastic dick helps to forget the idiotic moments from a guy who won’t stop pursuing your pussy.
Up until now, you still didn’t know who kept sending you flowers—gets larger and more obnoxious. Moreover, having alongside of candies in the packages. Each time it gets bigger.
Annoyance.
As soon as you looked into your messy room, you’re fucked. There’s no way, a college staff would allow childish presents and compliments. Although once you did give it away by pretending to send package to someone’s door, but magically ended up at your doorstep.
More annoyance.
Oh, it’s getting worse, although you haven’t seen the worst yet.
You hated roses, but you love the color and its fragrance, so preserving one would suffice and threw the rest into the trash—attraction of flies and other infested bugs. Though roses weren’t wasted if distribute to some lonesome women who yearn romance with their inner Shakespeare, or those who are fond of things that wither too soon for a perfect Edgar Allen Poe quote to go alongside it.
Either too romantic or too gothic would suffice—perfect in a sense they’re almost the same, but different font.
The first day you arrived in college—in England—it was stupendous. Away from folks, from cultish family and liars you once called “friends”. Crisp air and crisp sips of tea and munching scones and a full English breakfast and cup of excellent tea you’ve heard so much, from the vast side of the other world—with a profound lack of research, and a town stuck in their own ways.
When traveling, the possibilities are endless. And to unpack and trash all things annoying, family and even old friends.
Friends…
Pfft!
Friends are such a stupid thing of annoyance such as hope to cling hope. “Friends” can only lead to disappointment and betrayal, so why keep them, they’re just baggage needs to be dumped. And who needs friends when you have a large attraction of male audience and big time cash deposited into your fat bank account? And what better way to end interactions than focusing on how to finish junk food in less than 1 minute?
Money wins in the end.
Money prevailed and endured—an ongoing reward for self-pleasure.
Money buys happiness.
Always.
And food. But both were just as good as previous. Stacked on goods and snacks for a late night somber mood would do a trick.
Except it wasn’t.
Junk food has been forgotten when the flowers and a box package of your favorite candies and chocolate decided to show up on this very hour. There was no name, no phone number, no signature. Not even a compliment was showing.
“Who the fuck sent these during my gaming hour?” you asked yourself, guessing. Probably that no good piece of shit you hung out with last time. And with a small grunt, you picked it up and slammed—locking—the door, thinking about buying a sign of “no soliciting/tresspassing” from an online store.
“Ah. Better than nothing,” you added, appeased as you were closing the front door.
Thank god.
~~~
Numbing cheeks stretched to a giant yawn during a productive hour was the worst thing ever occured after the video game night. Couldn’t stop rethinking of last night’s gift from a secret admirer.
Trying to come up with conclusions on who sent numerous gifts by your door. Could it be the recent guy you dumped or was it an ex friend? An ex-friend wouldn’t do this. They’d automatically give you an intense cold-shoulder and fuck you stare on their eyes and spread false gossip about you behind your back.
Unless if it’s an ex-boyfriend you have back in America. But boys in America lack romantic aspects.
Unless if it’s a family member, or members, then they’re sick fucks in the head that needs to be douse in gasoline and set them alight on fire.
Hence why your mind was running. And it didn’t help. Hence why you came and moved into England. Starting fresh without bringing the mentions past scars would be the best course of action.
Nothing is simple, nothing is easy, but traveling far is duo-able.
After a long session on studying Italian culture and a long-dead language Latin, it has been quite some time since the cultish collection of flowers kept you occupied. You haven’t found a way to make a use of the flowers yet.
Hand tucked under your chin as you sighed, unfocused and relented at your current studies, unaware a lean hand distributed a chocolate crunchy bar.
Gazing upwards, there you saw none other than Michael Gavey.
Michael, Michael…
Michael.
The cute nerd you wanted to see.
To fuck his glasses out of his aquiline nose bridge, squeezing at the back of his head while riding your drenched cunt against his face. The boy—the nerdy college boy—to moan equations under your grasp, showered him with your squirt like how your dreams went.
Your recent dreams have been wet.
Frequently wet.
From the innocent acts until escalated to frequent fucking in college’s library to the college class, to the kitchen counter in the dorms, then the bed, once cold now warm with squirt and jizz. Fun and erotic sights to see in your dreams and yearn for an experiment and watch the outcome resolve itself.
Up until now, the roses had come up subconsciously, an urge to unveil the mystery.
“Michael…” you uttered low, trying to maintain eye contact as possible without the possibility of crushing over someone who is a weirdo who loves math equations.
“You look exhausted,” he assumed.
But he assumed wrong.
“I was up. I was up all night,” you managed to say.
“Studying, I assume.”
“Playing video games,” you said. “I can’t stand quietness around the dorm. Makes me feel isolated.”
He hummed.
“I figured you wanted a krunchy,” Michael said, one of the little corners of his lips turned upward, seeing your eyes twinkled at the chocolate.
“I—I do,” you stuttered. “I love chocolate, especially with juicy jizz—glaze! Glaze! I just love glaze! Especially with donuts with nice glaze with nice ultimately sweet goopy filling on the center inside!”
Stomach coiled in embarrassment that you might as well tuck yourself to shame somewhere no one finds you on this earth.
You sighed, as Michael quirked his brow, unreachable but slightly—ever so more—confused. Even with shut eyes, the glint brightness of his nerdy glasses were glaring at you.
Daring to look at his long glance, your shoulders tensed. “Sorry, I had something on my mind since yesterday. It got me busy,” you explained, sighing, thinking of the afterthoughts of what to do with the flowers. Still useless of decorating, still useless with charitable case of donation. “I didn’t have coffee this morning.”
Knowing that in England, people prefer nice plain organic tea and biscuits or scones.
Distracted, the heat on your cheeks arise.
“Quite a little spectical, I’ll give you that,” Michael said with a dry chuckle, as your legs crossed, one foot making little kicks while Michael came and sat down beside you, almost with disinterested, but a peak of intrigued, hopefully not with a daunting comment.
Hoping he doesn’t know what jizz is. Better yet, a whole language of slang from the west.
For days you have been searching videos at the porn website. Masturbating over the spare time became quite useful for someone who’s randomly horny as you. Day or night.
Horny and desperate from wanting to touch you, but the moment some guy touches you, you instantly kicked him to the boot—nothing more.
They say every guy’s hands are experienced. But what experienced does a guy have other than being insensitive and dull and careless?
They offer nothing to the table, offered no speciality that could qualify or overreached your expectations. Every boy are dull, dull after dull. Nothing is exceptional.
Unless…
Michael’s red sweater kept you more occupied with a rather distinct distraction. It was a nice shade of rich red. A burgundy. Reminded you of the vibrant roses from previous nights.
Nearly groaned at the sight of his top, your legs crossed and clenched tighter. Lips bruised from your teeth clutching, no gash leaking over your lush red lips, as eyes wandered and admiringly over a single spectate.
He looked good in red. For a good, weird nerd.
I wonder if I bruise him good, too.
A good nerd. A weird nerd. Obsessed about equations and numbers.
I bet I could make him cuss out during sex. Moaning in numbers and letters while bucking yourself against does seem tempting. Not a typical guy who touches women, but does the lusty temptation escalated.
But he’s so stubborn.
Red scars and red bruises.
Red tears, maybe.
You fear as if your invisible red horns were sprouting on your head. Not that you dislike red horns. You fear someone might see it. In shadows, in daylight. You like to think yourself as a perverted, moody devil who’s in for a good long fuck. Except you haven’t had a proper date on a long run.
“There’s a Halloween party coming up soon,” Michael’s voice barged into your occupied thoughts. “Have you been looking into that?”
“Um, no,” you said stiffly.
“But I have. Apparently, only those who are qualified enough to go to party. As if I’m going with those looosersss.”
But you knew he’s been longing on being a cool kid but doesn’t know how.
Shoulder shrugged. “I don’t care much about the party. Not really my style.”
“I thought you’d go.”
“What makes you say that?”
He stared over your shoulder, and the indication is clear. Both Felix Catton and his cousin—what’s his face? You didn’t know.
“I saw them speaking to you in the morning.” Michael’s lips pouted.
Cute as fuck.
“Who? Them?” you scoffed. “I don’t know those fuckers. They just came up to me and I thought they’re trying to sell drugs or something.”
“But they were inviting you,” he persisted.
“So? I don’t care much the party life. If I actually want to go, I would’ve said yes and would fuck them in some way. But then again, I did say I’m going to think about it, just to make them back off. Especially that weirdo cousin.”
Michael’s brows tucked. “Fuck?”
Fuck. Wrong phrase.
“Anyway, it’s not my business…I have other plans to go for. Just not in the mood with parties for now. Unless….you’re going?”
Michael scoffed, taking out his math textbook and notebook.
“Guess not.” You went back to concentrate on your unfinished homework.
“What happened to your boyfriend, by the way?”
You shot at him with a dirty look. “Wait, that ugly fuck? I don’t care much about the dude.”
Talking about exes is a no-no, on a girl’s standard and rule when talking to the opposite sex. Especially when the said opposite you found oddly attractive with equation.
After shoving you out of the elevator, a dealbreaker has set in and decided to break things off as if you consider the guy exist.
You don’t even recall his name.
Michael’s relaxed hand recoiled to a fist. It was subtle.
Your eyes softened. “So…I do need help with something. Something that I’m having a hard time with, and I need some assistance with sums. Does that ring any bell?”
Michael smirked, his fist hasn’t uncoiled. “Math.”
You flashed a wink at him. “So, are you going to help a damsel in distress, or are you going to sit there and be emo?”
Michael’s eyes flickered. “Emo?”
Thank god he doesn’t know the slangs. He’s cute. I can feel my red horns are growing.
“Just help a poor girl out, please? With a red cherry on top?”
My cherry was dying to get out. I want Michael to pop my cherry.
Michael hummed, watching you. “Listen carefully, (Y/N). I’m not a patient man.”
“I can take the pain. Whatever you give me,” you said, winking.
Thank god Michael is oblivious to my pervy statement.
Michael hummed again. “The sooner we do this the better.”
You nodded and get the math textbook, but you knew it wasn’t enough, so you’re planning on gathering textbooks. But Michael is already a walking math textbook. Maybe he would explain things better.
“You’re nails. They’re red,” he said.
Your heart palpitated. “You like them?”
Michael hummed.
You wanted to tackle and jump on his face with your wet cunt.
Despite the randomness crossing your mind, you took it as a yes.
Dear Diary,
I want to shove my fingers in his mouth as I bounce on his cock.
~~~
It’s been hours since Michael taught you with math problems, including xyz and triangular shapes and parentheses. As much as you despise the numbers and the math’s creator, you watched Michael’s lips formed in soft curls and once in a while his tongue peaked out.
I want him to lick my hot, wet pussy.
Make this perverted girl happy.
Lick my wet cherry.
Not long before, the library is almost empty. And thus, the conclusion of tutoring session is over. So you devised a plan.
“Instead here, why don’t you go at my dorm? You know, we could study there. The library is too echoey and I hate it when my voices gets suddenly too loud. How does that sound?
You swore you saw Michael’s eyes suddenly glinted, like a pouted cat turned mischievous, almost naughty. But in plain sight.
Without Michael saying anything, you said, “Great. I’ll see you there. Don’t forget your smart pants when you meet at my dorm.”
~~~
Michael’s plan came into a fruition. He knew that offering for a tutoring session could get closer to you. With that annoying boy-toy you used to hookup with has been nagging in. As he knocked on your door, you opened, revealing your bright smile and welcoming, realizing she kept all the flowers he gave you, hoping you enjoy the gift.
His heart skipped a beat.
The closer to you, the more chances to get a glimpse of your personal life. The more he’ll see the true you.
His heart skipped a beat.
As for the boy you casually hook up with, hopefully no one finds his body.

Home for the Holidays
Pairing: Vi x Reader
Summary: Vi and her family spend their first Christmas with the reader’s, finding warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging in each other’s company.
———
The house buzzed with holiday energy. Twinkling lights adorned the tree, the fireplace cast a golden glow, and the smell of cinnamon and pine filled the air. Laughter and the sound of cookie decorating echoed from the kitchen while Jinx darted around the living room, a whirlwind of energy.
“This place is so shiny,” Jinx said, her wide, Shimmer-pink eyes darting to every ornament on the tree. “You’ve got, like, fifty tiny explosions hanging here. I love it!”
Isha, sitting cross-legged by the window with a steaming mug of cocoa, let out a soft hum of approval. She gave a small nod, her lips quirking into a faint smile as she traced the rim of her mug with a finger.
“They’re not explosions, Jinx,” Vi said with a smirk, leaning casually against the back of the couch. “They’re just lights.” She tilted her head toward Isha. “Right?”
Isha rolled her eyes playfully and gave Vi a thumbs-up, the corner of her mouth twitching in quiet amusement.
Jinx wasn’t paying attention anymore. She was too busy stealing a candy cane from the counter. “Bet I could turn this into a rocket launcher,” she mused, twirling it between her fingers.
“Please don’t,” you said, laughing as you caught her eye. “My mom just fixed the kitchen wall last week.”
“Fine, fine,” Jinx relented, plopping onto the couch and sprawling across it dramatically. “But only because it’s Christmas.”
Vi crossed the room to stand beside you, slipping her hand into yours. She leaned down, her voice soft enough that only you could hear. “Your family’s great. They’re treating us like we’ve been here forever.”
You smiled, lacing your fingers through hers. “That’s because you belong here.”
Her grip tightened ever so slightly, her thumb brushing over yours. “I’ve never really felt like I belonged anywhere before.”
“Well, now you do,” you said softly, leaning your head on her shoulder.
For a moment, you both stayed like that, wrapped in the warmth of each other’s presence. Vi shifted slightly, turning to look down at you with a playful grin.
“You know,” she said, “there’s one thing missing from this whole ‘belonging’ thing.”
“And what’s that?” you asked with a smirk, knowing full well what she meant.
Without another word, Vi cupped your cheek and leaned down to kiss you—soft at first, then deeper, her lips warm and steady against yours.
“Oh, gross!” Jinx’s voice cut through the moment like a firecracker. “Get a room, you two!”
Vi pulled back just enough to glare at her sister, her cheeks flushed pink. “You could’ve just… looked away, Jinx.”
“Uh, no way!” Jinx retorted, throwing a blanket over her head like a makeshift cloak. “You two were practically oozing mushy love goo all over the couch!” She peeked out from under the blanket with a devilish grin. “And Vi, you’re blushing. That’s weird. Stop that.”
“I’m not blushing!” Vi shot back, her voice raising an octave.
“You totally are!” Jinx sang, tossing a pillow in Vi’s direction. “Look at her! Little Miss Tough Girl caught red-handed!”
You couldn’t help but laugh, and Vi groaned dramatically, burying her face against your shoulder. “I swear, she was easier to deal with when she was trying to blow things up.”
“You love me!” Jinx called, her voice muffled from beneath her blanket.
“Unfortunately!” Vi shouted back, but her lips quirked into a small smile as she turned her attention back to you. “Where were we?”
“Right about here,” you said, tugging her in for another kiss.
Your mom peeked in from the kitchen, her hands dusted with flour. “Vi! Jinx! Isha! Come grab cookies before the kids get to them!”
Jinx sprang up immediately, her pink eyes glowing faintly as she snatched a cookie with exaggerated speed. “I like her,” she said, pointing at your mom with a cookie in hand.
Your mom laughed, ruffling Jinx’s hair affectionately. “I like you too, sweetie.”
Isha followed with a curious tilt of her head. She took a cookie and held it up with a questioning look as if asking, Is this homemade?
Your mom nodded enthusiastically, and Isha’s expression brightened. She gave a little approving hum before taking a bite, her eyes crinkling at the corners in delight.
Vi leaned closer to you as the others mingled. “You sure we’re not too much for your family?”
“Are you kidding?” you whispered back, smiling as you watched your dad teach Isha how to play a board game, while Jinx entertained your cousins with wild stories. “You all fit perfectly.”
Later, as the house settled into a calmer rhythm, Vi pulled you aside into a quieter corner. The glow of the Christmas tree painted soft highlights on her face as she wrapped her arms around you.
“You really mean it? About us belonging here?” she asked, her voice low and hesitant.
You reached up to cup her cheek, your thumb tracing the faint scar along her cheekbone. “Of course I mean it, Vi. My family loves you. And I…” You paused, your voice catching slightly before continuing. “I love you.”
Her breath hitched, and for a moment, she just stared at you, as if trying to process the words. Then, with a soft smile, she leaned in, pressing her forehead to yours. “I love you too,” she whispered. “More than I can even explain.”
The two of you stayed like that, the world fading away until it was just you, her, and the soft twinkle of lights.
As the night wound down and snow began to fall outside, the house grew quieter. Jinx was curled up on the couch under a blanket, her pink eyes half-lidded as the energy of the day finally caught up with her. Isha sat nearby, flipping through a book she’d found on your family’s shelf, occasionally nodding in approval at something she read.
Vi sat with you in front of the fire, her arm wrapped around your shoulders as you both watched the embers dance. She tilted her head to rest against yours, her fingers lazily tracing circles on your arm.
“You know,” she murmured, her voice a low rumble, “this might be the best Christmas I’ve ever had.”
“Just wait,” you teased lightly. “You haven’t even opened your present yet.”
She chuckled, the sound vibrating through you. “You’ve already given me the best gift, babe.” She kissed the top of your head, her lips lingering as if to seal the moment. “You’ve given me a home.”
For the first time in years, Vi—and her unconventional family—felt like they had truly found their place.

Happy to see requests are open! I’ve got one for ROTTMNT if that’s okay!
So Raph in the show, in mystic library in particular, can casually just pick up his brothers. So could you write a scenario of Raph just effortlessly picking up his s/o who is a bit self conscious about their weight?
You can throw in the other rise brothers if you want to but idk if they’d be on the same power level as Raph
Hello, hello! Hope you like it ~ ♡♡♡♡
I Love You Just The Way You Are *.✧
rottmnt raph x gn!reader
Raph was always a big guy—towering, muscular in ways that made his presence impossible to ignore. But one of the things his brothers always teased him about was how gentle he was with you, his lover. His hands, so often used to smash through walls or pummel bad guys, turned careful and soft when they touched you. His voice, usually loud and booming, dropped to a soft rumble whenever he spoke to you.
You loved it, but sometimes, your insecurities would get the better of you.
It wasn’t that you doubted Raph’s feelings for you—he was the most loving and attentive boyfriend anyone could ask for. But you couldn’t help it. You’d always been a little self-conscious about your weight. Being with someone as strong and physically impressive as Raph only amplified it sometimes.
You tried not to show it, but Raph wasn’t stupid. He noticed how you always hesitated before sitting too close to him on the couch, or how you deflected compliments about your appearance. He didn’t push, but it was clear he was trying to figure out the best way to reassure you.
The perfect opportunity presented itself one evening during one of your usual hangouts in the lair.
It started with Mikey’s idea to turn the living room into a makeshift theater for movie night. Blankets, pillows, and snacks were spread across the floor, and everyone was settling into their spots.
You were about to sit on one of the pillows near Raph when you hesitated.
"I think I’ll just sit over here," you mumbled, gesturing to the edge of the setup.
Raph’s brow furrowed. "Why? There’s plenty of space right here."
You shrugged, avoiding his gaze. "I just think I’d be more comfortable over there."
Raph didn’t buy it for a second, but he let it slide. For now.
As the movie played, you tried to focus on the screen, but your mind kept wandering. You were too aware of how close Raph was to you, even though you’d purposely put some distance between you.
About halfway through the movie, Donnie made some sarcastic comment, and you laughed. But when you leaned back to steady yourself, your hand brushed against Raph’s arm.
"That’s it," Raph said suddenly, startling everyone.
"What’s it?" Mikey asked, his mouth full of popcorn.
Raph ignored him and turned to you. Before you could ask what was going on, he reached out and effortlessly scooped you up in his arms, cradling you like it was the easiest thing in the world.
"Raph!" you yelped, your face heating up. "What are you doing?"
"Getting you comfortable," he said matter-of-factly, settling back into his spot with you in his lap.
"I-I’m fine! You don’t have to—"
"Y/N," Raph interrupted, his voice gentle but firm. "You’re not fine. You’re sittin’ way over there when you should be over here with me."
You glanced around, your embarrassment growing. Mikey was grinning like an idiot, Donnie had raised an amused brow, and Leo was pretending not to notice, though you could see the slight smirk on his face.
"Guys," Raph said pointedly, "mind your business."
Mikey snickered but turned back to the movie, and the others followed suit.
Once they were distracted, Raph looked down at you, his expression softening.
"Y/N," he said quietly, "you gotta stop this. I know what’s goin’ on in that head of yours, and it ain’t true."
You swallowed hard, avoiding his gaze. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
"Yeah, you do," he said, adjusting his grip on you. "You think I can’t handle holdin’ you or somethin’? Babe, I bench press cars for fun. You’re not heavy to me. Not even close."
You blinked up at him, caught off guard by his sincerity. "It’s not just that," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "It’s… everything. I just… I don’t feel like I match you, Raph. You’re so strong and… well, amazing. And I’m just… me."
Raph’s face softened even more, and he tightened his hold on you slightly. "First of all, you’re not ‘just’ anything. You’re you. And you’re everything to me. I don’t care what you think you look like or how much you think you weigh. You’re perfect to me, Y/N."
Tears pricked at your eyes, and you bit your lip to keep them from falling. "You really mean that?"
"Course I do," he said without hesitation. "And if you don’t believe me, I’ll prove it to you every day until you do."
You couldn’t help but laugh a little, despite yourself. "You’re kind of a sap, you know that?"
"Only for you," he said, grinning.
The rest of the movie passed with you comfortably tucked in Raph’s lap. He kept an arm securely around you the whole time, occasionally giving your hand a reassuring squeeze or a kiss on your forehead.
