i understand why enemies to lovers and homoerotic besties to lovers do numbers but more people need to wake up to spice of impassioned coworkers to lovers. like? "we are so dedicated to our shared dream and massively important work we have no time for each other." and then the work and each other starts blending together. that's hot i'm not sorry

Ive had this conversation with 4 ppl now so, with the hope that it will help someone,
if you have sexual intrusive thoughts about:
harming children
harming animals
harming family members
being harmed by family members/trusted authority figures
you are experiencing a very common symptom of OCD that can be treated. you are not broken or evil.
I have had sexual intrusive thoughts about all of these things and I'm very open about it because breaking the taboo has been a really important part of my treatment. and I've had multiple ppl tell me they experienced the same thing but never talked about it for fear of judgement. my therapist had to bring up groinal response before I was able to admit to myself that I was experiencing it.
these thoughts might happen when you're engaging in sexual activity. they're distressing and repulsive and you might feel like you need to atone for them somehow. you might worry that other ppl can tell you're thinking about this stuff. you might find yourself mentally checking to make sure the intrusive thoughts aren't arousing to you and getting stuck in ruminative cycles.
go do some OCD research<3

What’s the Charlie and Dan lore?
here's the basics (x) it's difficult because he and dan were friendly but at times a bit prickly with each other but obviously it got much much worse as time went on. also after he left the internet for good due to his mental health he became a pretty taboo topic just because like...that was clearly a kid who was not doing well being prodded by kids hoping he'd spill something and then lashing out

I've seen a lot of ppl in this tag asking about how to vet ABA therapy centers as a potential employee. I've been working at an autism care center for almost two years now so here are some tips you can use to see if a clinic is using abusive practices.
Firstly, keep an eye out for these red flags:
any use of physical restraint
withholding of food, water, or sensory regulation tools in order to gain motivation
expectation to use eye contact, limit stimming behavior, or forgo sensory regulation tools like headphones, fidgets, chewies, etc
use of punishment* - aka intentionally causing an aversive experience with the goal of reducing a behavior
And here are some scripts you can use to gauge how ABA-critical a center is:
"I'm passionate about autism care but I know ABA has a history of abusive practices. What kind of measures do you have in place to ensure that clients have a beneficial experience?"
"I understand I will be taking clinical direction from a BCBA**. If I have concerns about a BCBA's clinical practices, who can I discuss this with?"
And, if you're unsure, you can always ask directly:
"Do you use physical restraint at your clinic?"
"Do you use punishment at your clinic?"
"Are clients ever expected to use eye contact/forgo sensory regulation tools/limit stimming behaviors?"
If you're nervous about being this direct, you can always start with:
"I have a friend/family member who had a traumatic experience with ABA, and I'm passionate about delivering empathetic, trauma-informed care to autistic people."
Being an RBT has been my favorite job I've ever had and it's so important for clients of ABA that the people who work with them really care about ethical practices. I hope this is helpful for people curious about the field.
*Punishment at its worst looks like intentionally causing physical pain to a client, but it can also involve removing preferred activities or items. Client motivation should be acquired through reward rather than punishment. An example of this could look like:
A client frequently climbs on tables in a way that is unsafe. A punishment could mean removing the client's favorite toy from the area until the client returns to the ground. At my clinic, which doesn't use punishment at all, I would position my body so that I can catch them if they fall, and either wait them out or offer a motivating item on the ground.
**BCBA stands for Board Certified Behavior Analyst and they typically supervise RBTs on how to deliver therapy. A BCBA will write goals for clients (like "uses fork to self-feed") and the RBT will prompt clients through the goals and take data on how the client is doing.

Could we [me specifically] umm get to know wy u reacted that way to the pina colada or cherry thing?
Like ik the cherry history- but pina colada...?
well so you see the thing is.
Tumblr media
i love that you know about the cherry thing but not this post specifically because honestly it's the worst one. like yeah the rest sure are . also something
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but the piña colada one beats all the rest of them by a mile because WHY is PHIL the one asking. dan not-so-subtly bragging about their sex life on the internet is one thing, he did that all the time (lest we forget uma thurman watched me have sex was from this same week), but phil didn't really touch it (probably because of his much larger audience and more pg-13 content lol) except he just couldn't help himself here i guess

Did you know that Stonewall helped create the TRANSforming Futures Partnership? These projects aim to make trans people safer when coming into contact with healthcare and criminal justice systems.
Check out some of the incredible work they've done in local communities so far here
