Hello! Checking in with an update to the previous post.

As of the time of writing this, here are the circumstances for our outstanding five gifts:

- Two Secret Santas have let me know their gift will be late and in shortly. (If you're a giftee who falls into this category, you have been contacted.)

- Two Secret Santas have dropped out.

- One Secret Santa has not responded to my attempts to connect. It's been a few days now, so I'm going to go ahead and call this one and assume they won't be submitting.

In light of the above, I'll be doing an interest check for prompt fills to see if anyone would like to pitch in. If not, mod will take over making sure everyone gets a gift, but if anyone feels inclined to help, please do! (I won't lie here- this is semi-selfish, as one of the outstanding missed gifts is mod's, and it'd be a bummer to be left out.)

I'll be making a separate post about this, but: in the event I do this again for 2024 (and I would certainly like to, it's been a lot of fun), the individuals who have either been nonresponsive or did not let me know that they would not be submitting anything until after the deadline/until I prompted them will be put on at the end of the list. This is not intended to be a punishment- if I run this again, these individuals will just be contacted with a disclaimer that they've been paired up with someone else who also had issues with submitting last year, and that in the interest of full transparency, there's a chance that neither party will get a gift if the same thing happens again. I don't want to punish or shame anyone- it's just that the way things shook out didn't end up being very fair to myself as an organizer or the other participants, and the drop deadline was in the rules to try and make everyone's experience a little smoother. (^ Please note- if you let me know you were dropping/late without needing to be prompted about it and within the deadline constraints, you're fine! This only applies to individuals that were nonresponsive.) If anyone has any input on this, please let me know.

Hello, everyone! Apologies for only being semi-responsive to messages; I've been trying to make sure that all of the pairings have been conducted and no one's been left out in the cold. I hope the New Year thus far has treated you all well!

So far, almost everyone has gotten their gifts in. Here's the circumstances of the exceptions:

One giftee's Secret Santa was unable to complete it, and thus mod will be taking over to ensure the giftee gets a gift. (Please be patient with me here- I'll try to work as fast as I can!)

I am unsure if two gifts have been completed or not and will be checking in with the Secret Santas in question. In the event these gifts haven't been + can't be completed, mod will be taking over these as well.

Two people have let me know that their gift will be late and turned in within the next few days.

Anyways, I saw your prompts, saw “isekai” and “Lawlight+Lawmane”, and I had a single thought. Unfortunately, I regret to inform you I was not able to fully complete the fic I started in the time I was given. I’m a slow writer and this fic kinda got out of hand. I do wanna apologize because this fic is neither a pure isekai trope nor does it include L (yet). However! Hi there! I am afraid your requests didn't align very well with the things I like or tend to write, so this was challenging for me, but, since you like Lawlight and Remisa, I decided to write a Lawlight fic with some more secondary Remisa! (And I tried to put some L befriending Rem...!) I did not, however, intend for it to be a 23k word long monster. I ended up writing it more for myself but hopefully I'm not the only person that enjoys it haha.

When the mass murderer known as Kira started targetting criminals, it was only a matter of time until he found Beyond Birthday, the culprit behind the LABB Murders case. L, the world's greatest detective, made a choice: take B out of prison, delete all information that could show his name or his face in all the possible records, and relocate him somewhere safe. Now, years after the Kira case has been closed and Light and L have reached an agreement of sorts, Light stumbles onto the fact L protected a serial killer for his own interest. It's not jealousy to try to find this man and kill him, it's just Kira working to cleanse the world of evil. At least, that's what he tells himself.
