Dear Alterhuman Tumblr: Stop Crosstagging Please

If your post is ONLY about otherkin/fictionkin/therianthropy, don't tag it otherhearted, otherlink, copinglink, constelic, voidpunk, etc. You're making it much harder for those of us who are alterhuman/nonhuman but not 'kin to find posts about our experiences.

If you're writing about a more generalized alterhuman/nonhuman experience, consider using more inclusive language in your post (like 'type instead of kintype, shift instead of kinshift, fictionfolk if it's about all fictional identities, etc.).

If it's more specialized, consider exactly who your audience is and what you're writing about. If you're writing for otherkin, don't tag it "otherhearted," and vice versa.

If you're crosstagging for visibility (like I will be), consider whether this is important enough that you want everyone who might even slightly be interested to see it, because unless it's a project or a PSA, the answer is most likely "no." Edit: And if you've crosstagged in the past, going back and removing the offending tags from your posts would really help. <3

Can anyone see me? Can anyone hear me? Am i a real person, or am i just your shadow cast upon the wall behind you?

Does anyone hear my pleas? My stifled sobs, my silenced cries?

Does anyone understand the words coming out of my mouth? Are they in a language not yet created, destined to never be understood in the present?

Can anyone take in the sound of my voice? The waves and tunes of my talking, the echos of the things i dont dare to speak about?

Will anyone tune to my pitch, and hear my voice on the radio? Or will my broadcast be ignored, my words lost in time?

Have a slightly vent post??

Okay so, i have a couple of online friends. We’re a pretty tight knit group, even if some of us (along with me) dont interact with eachother every day. However i notice that when SPECIFICALLY I post stuff (weither its a comment, picture or art) in our communal server (even though ive also had this in big open servers we’re in together), most of the time, i get no response.

And its just so… strange? I feel so incredibly singled out no matter if its in our group or in a full public server.

I have this more often aswell, even outside of that group. I feel like people just tend to ignore me? Like they dont have to be awed at everything i say or do, but when i make a meme about a communal fandom, i’d like atleast one person to respond with ANYTHING.

It feels like im slowly disconnecting from the group. That + atleast a few people in the group being blatantly rude to me & my personality is making it hard to connect with them.

Anyway, i think im going to start disconnecting myself from them, because i genuinely just feel bad after interacting with them. I put so much into the whole thing, and i hardly get a crumb back. It all just makes me feel horrid, because i really felt like i connected with them, but i guess i was wrong :(

Yesterday my roommate's friend came to our place and I was wearing a tail. Eventually he asked about it.

“Is this prohibited?” I answered.

“No, I just don't see something like this every day.”

“Well, you can buy yourself a tail and then you'll see it every day.”

He shut up.

Why? Because I said it with boldness and confidence. If you're gonna challenge me, you'll get your fucking answer.
