I had a coworker respond, when I mentioned in passing that I bike commute, "oh, well I mean at least you're not one of those people that rides their bike in the street, I hate those people" which of course I am because that's literally the law, so I sort of stammered, at a loss, desperate to think of someone truly universally despised, "um well ha I mean, could be worse, I could be an insecure man driving a huge truck with the muffler taken off" and I bet not a single one of my followers can guess what sort of vehicle I saw that man commuting home in the very next week

I have definitely read some doom and gloom because e.g. McDonald's is down, but this article points out that a lot of that business is shifting to places with customer service instead of a damn kiosk. Other shrinking sectors are places where buying is getting more complicated with surprise fees or inflating prices aren't getting you anything better.
