Stitch by Stitch: Learning How to Make Doggie Outfits 🐾✂️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s something magical about creating with your own two hands—especially when it’s for the furry friends who love us unconditionally. Lately, I’ve been diving into the world of doggie fashion design, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey filled with crooked stitches, fabric scraps everywhere, and the most adorable “models” you could ask for.
Whether it’s a cozy hoodie for chilly walks or a cute little bowtie for special occasions, making dog outfits is about more than just style—it’s about love, comfort, and personality. Each piece feels like a reflection of their character (and, honestly, mine too).
💡 Beginner tip: Start small. Think bandanas or simple vests before tackling full-on jackets. And don’t forget to choose soft, washable fabrics that won’t irritate your pup’s skin.
But here’s the fun part—if you’re in Mooresville, NC, keep your eyes open for Lunah Twist 🌙✨. This new consignment shop is all about ethereal finds and timeless treasures, and I have a feeling it’s going to become a hotspot for unique, creative, and inspiring pieces. Who knows? Maybe the perfect vintage fabric or accessory for your next dog outfit project is waiting there for you.
So, if you’re stitching away like me, let’s make a pact: keep practicing, keep creating, and let’s support local spots like Lunah Twist that keep creativity alive in our communities.
🐶👗 Here’s to happy dogs, handmade outfits, and a little Mooresville magic.

The Incredible Story of How I Accidentally Reunited a Long-Lost Dog Family
Tumblr media
I always knew adopting rescues came with surprises… but I never expected this.
When I moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, I had one dog—Pepe, my Pomsky. Over the past year, I adopted five more dogs—all from different places, different shelters, and different situations. I thought I was just giving them a second chance at life.
Then, out of curiosity, I did DNA tests. And my mind was blown.
The Big Reveal: My Dogs Are All Related!
Turns out, five of my six dogs are all family. Some are siblings, some are cousins, and some are even part of a multi-generational connection I never saw coming.
🐶 Pepe – Pomsky (4 years old, my original dog, related to Penny & Roxxy) 🐶 Lucky – Pit Bull (6 years old, rescue) 🐶 Penny – Pomchipoo (4 years old, rescue, related to Pepe & Roxxy) 🐶 Roxxy – Pomchi (10 years old, rescue, related to Penny & Pepe, and has trace DNA from the Pit Bulls & Great Dane) 🐶 Romeo – Pit Bull (2 years old, rescue) 🐶 Jolene – Great Dane (11 months old, backyard breeder)
Crazy DNA Findings:
Pepe (Pomsky, my original dog) is related to Penny (Pomchipoo) and Roxxy (Pomchi).
Penny (Pomchipoo) is related to Jolene (Great Dane). A tiny dog and a massive Dane… HOW?! 🤯
Roxxy (Pomchi, 10 years old) is related to Penny and Pepe but also has small amounts of DNA from the Pit Bulls and the Great Dane.
Lucky (Pit Bull, 6) is actually Romeo’s GRANDPA. I unknowingly brought together a grandfather and grandson.
At first, I just thought I was rescuing them, but when I realized I had accidentally reunited a lost dog family, I knew I couldn’t separate them. This rescue became a sanctuary. 🏡🐶💖
Want More Details?
I break down even more of the DNA results and how this happened in my Reddit post here: 🔗 Read the full Reddit post (insert Reddit link when ready!)
I’ve also written about some of these discoveries before, like: 📌 Roxxy’s Big Reveal: She’s Family! → 🔗 Read it here 📌 Discovering Unexpected Family Ties → 🔗 Read it here
Now, I make TikToks to keep everyone updated on their progress—how they interact, their training, and their growing bond as a reunited family. It’s been the most unexpected but rewarding experience of my life.
📢 Have you ever had DNA test results surprise you like this? Let me know! 💬

5 Reasons to Stay at a Private Campsite in North Carolina Instead of a Public Park
Tumblr media
Camping in North Carolina offers stunning mountain views, peaceful coastal getaways, and hidden forest retreats. While public parks like the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains National Park are popular, private campsites across NC provide a unique, personalized experience. Here’s why you should consider staying at a private campsite for your next adventure!
1. Peace, Quiet & Privacy
NC’s public parks can get crowded, especially in peak season. At a private campsite, you can enjoy the sounds of nature without noisy neighbors or packed hiking trails. Whether you're in the Blue Ridge Mountains or by the Outer Banks, private sites offer a secluded escape.
2. Pet-Friendly & More Space for Your Furry Friends
North Carolina is a dog-loving state, and many private campgrounds allow pets with fewer restrictions. Whether you're near Asheville, the Uwharrie National Forest, or the coast, private sites often have fenced-in areas or pet-friendly amenities that public parks lack.
3. Unique & Personalized Experience
Private campgrounds across NC often feature one-of-a-kind amenities—think cozy fire pits in the mountains, secluded lakeside spots, and even farm stays with fresh eggs and local produce. Whether you're looking for a mountain escape near Boone or a quiet riverside retreat near Wilmington, private sites provide a more tailored experience.
4. No Reservation Hassles
State and national parks in NC can book up months in advance, especially in fall and summer. Private campsites offer more flexibility, letting you plan a last-minute getaway to places like the Pisgah National Forest, Jordan Lake, or a tucked-away farm stay near Raleigh.
5. Support Local & Small Business Owners
Booking a private campsite in North Carolina means supporting local landowners and small businesses. Many private campgrounds are run by families or individuals passionate about preserving their land and sharing it with fellow nature lovers. Your stay helps them maintain beautiful, off-the-grid locations for future adventurers!
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a peaceful, pet-friendly, and unique camping experience in North Carolina, private campsites are the way to go. Whether you're road-tripping through the Appalachian Mountains, exploring the Outer Banks, or finding a quiet escape in the Piedmont, booking a private spot offers an exclusive way to enjoy NC’s great outdoors.
🌿 Ready to ditch the crowds and experience NC nature on your own terms? Find the perfect private camping spot today!

Ode to Red Dirt
Tumblr media
Oh, red dirt, bane and beauty intertwined, Staining boots, pawprints, and the mind. Your crimson hue, so bold, so stark, A mark of land untamed, rugged, and dark.
You cling to soles, unwelcome guest, Invading clean floors, leaving no rest. Each grain, a rebel, a wanderer's trace, A messy dance, a trail we can't erase.
Yet in your stubborn, gritty embrace, Lies the spirit of earth, raw and unchased. You tell the stories of roots and rain, Of toil, of growth, of labor's gain.
Oh, red dirt, how you frustrate and charm, A badge of hard work, a farmer's arm. Though scrubbing you clean may test our resolve, Your essence speaks of mysteries to solve.
So, here’s to your mess, your fiery stain, A symbol of life, of grit, and gain. For every step you’ve boldly adorned, We salute you, red dirt, land’s own adorn.

What to Expect
No Pet Fees: Unlike many campgrounds, we don’t believe in charging extra for your furry friends. Dogs are part of the family here at Infinite Hearts Retreat.
Dog-Centric Activities: From fenced play areas to hiking trails, your pup will have plenty of space to roam and explore. We’re also planning events like “Doggie Day Out” weekends, featuring agility courses, dog treat stations, and even pup-friendly scavenger hunts.
Pet Safety First: With extra fencing, a thorough property survey, and secure boundaries, your dogs can enjoy the retreat safely.
Campground Amenities: In addition to dog-friendly features, we’re working on adding picnic tables, fire pits, and comfortable spaces to relax. Our on-site store will stock essentials and local treats for both humans and dogs.
