This is how I make my diy stuff!! Long-ish post under cut

I start by tracing my design from my iPad onto tracing paper, I take multiple zoomed in photos of what I’m tracing and move the paper around for each image. You can probably do this with normal paper, using a phone, or skip the step entirely if you can copy the image

I end up with stencils like these :)

After tracing onto paper I use a light-board to transfer it to the fabric I’m using (for most projects I use scrap material and old bedsheets) I use a crayola light- board I was gifted but you can use anything that get bright enough

After that I paint using fabric paint. You can also use acrylic mixed with fabric softener but it won’t do as well in the wash

After painting I stitch all my patches on by hand using what I think is an appliqué whipstitch, this looks nice and stops fraying but is slow and soul crushing. You can just use a machine if you have one and want to.

After stitching it’s done and you’re free to :D

This is just my method, which is not necessarily the best or easiest, but good luck if you do try something similar

stop censoring yourself!! it is something i keep seeing young kids on here doing and its so disheartening. censorship is inherently fascist. you need to say what you mean, you need to talk about uncomfortable topics, if we allow social media algorithms to impact how we speak in real life we are doomed. people are not unalived they are killed or murdered, people are not 🍇ed they are raped. if you can not speak about the realities of oppresion and violence truthfully you might aswell not be speaking at all.

I really wish the therian and otherkin communities would stop doing the thing where every time somebody mentions they enjoy petplay, they have to surround it with the caveat that "But I don't do it for sexual reasons! It's not sexual, it is because it is species affirming! I promise I am not one of those gross, people who like sexual petplay!"

If you are an adult who engages in petplay, and you want to talk about petplay, just say you enjoy it without trying to cover your ass and clarify that "it's not sexual though!" - While I don't think it is intentional, doing this implies that sexual petplay is gross or morally wrong, that enjoying sex and engaging with sexual things that involve our nonhumanity is somehow not acceptable. It creates a divide between "petplay that is nonsexual and acceptable" and "petplay that is sexual and sinful." This does nothing but create further bias and prejudice against sexual petplayers within the community.

I modded a sweater for the first time!! Fabric paint is so fun but so hard to use!

I thiiiiink I'm done with the front? I thought about more embroidery but honestly I think it's good as is. This weekend hopefully I can do the back as well and then I can spend the next two weeks (!!!!!) deciding on the rest of my ritual outfit.

If anyone missed it, I spent the last several months embroidering those patches with lyrics/gonst logos.
