It wasn’t just Wendy’s affection for Abigail that brought her back from death, it was Abigail’s affection for Wendy, too. Thinking about how, in the Constant, Abigail has to watch her sister both fend off and crave the exact force that changed her-death. Thinking about how, even though Wendy constantly talks about wanting to die, Abigail uses her own afterlife and newfound powers to keep her from it. She wants Wendy to live despite her own self being dead, because she loves her and wants to see her enjoy her life.
