“I get this vibe you’re trying to convince me that you’re antichrist. But hey, I’ll be the judge of whether I can handle Devil Barbie or not.” Dominic chuckled, tilting his head to the side. “I mean, shit, can you blame them? It’s not like a girl stands outside for hours singing Taylor Swift songs at two in the morning for just any guy. So, I think it’s pretty safe to say that everyone is obsessed with me. Don’t stress though, you’re about to join the rest of my fans. The next time I’ll look out my window, it’ll be you standing out there with professing your undying love for me. It’s nothing to be shamed about. It’s natural, really.” He teased the girl, a self-satisfied smirk still playing across his lips.
“I suppose we will.” She grinned widely, “Oh trust me, you can’t and I wouldn’t really consider myself Bubbles, she’s all joyful and giggly, I’m more like Buttercup if I have to be related to any of the Powerpuff Girls.” Elissa stated honestly. “Aw, that’s cute, you being all smug thinking everyone loves you and is obsessed with you. And me of all people would never be obsessed, I’m not an obsessive person.”

Coming to a mental conclusion that spending his only day off laying in bed wasn’t the exactly productive, Dominic gathered the strength to pick himself up and get dressed. He made his way to the kitchen and opened up his fridge, only to see carton of milk and two week old chinese takeout. It was expected, considering his new diet consisted of the blood of highly intoxicated women that showed up at his workplace. Taking a whiff of the milk, he scrunched up his face in disgust, setting it back in his fridge. A trip to the grocery store was well overdue. Slipping on his signature black Nikes, he grabbed his keys and began to head out. On the other end of his front door was an unexpected guest – Emma. “Oh, hey Em-” Dominic began to say, before being cut off by the sound of girl standing in front of him bursting into tears. His eyebrows shot up, the expression on his face a mixture of confusion and shock.
Dominic, being raised by a hard-headed, single mother, had never been in situations where he had to deal with women crying. His exes cried over superficial things, and working at the bar with blubbering drunks had all contributed to him to feeling indifferent when it came to people being upset. Emma, on the other hand, seemed to be a special case. After befriending her, he had quickly learned that she was quite... sensitive. “Not open for business today, sorry.” Dominic said with a serious expression and shut the door for a second, before reopening it with an awkward smile etching over his face. “I’m messing with you. Uh, come on in,” He took a step back, holding the door wide open.

After twenty minutes of sitting in the Brooks’ family driveway, Emma finally wiped her tears and left. She drove around town trying to figure out what she would do next, her parent’s were out of town, and she knew she didn’t want to be alone so that was not an option. All her friends from high school were also friends with Brett, so that would just be awkward. The only option that seems to make sense was talking to her new friend Dom, she drove to his house, and sat in his driveway for ten minutes crying. “Emma you can do this. You need a friend and Dom said he wanted to be our friend.” She told herself as she wiped her tears and prayed her eyes wouldn’t be as read when she reached his door. She able to make it to his door without crying it, she knocked on his door without crying, it wasn’t until someone opened his front door she began crying again.

Dominic was perched on the steps of the church, observing the peaceful town during the morning. If his mother hadn’t practically dragged him out of his house, you wouldn’t have found Dominic sitting through a whole three hours of a church session, especially this early. A man who seemed oddly familiar had jogged past him, and after a second of hearing what the man had said, his face scrunched up in disgust. “Uh, I think I’d get a better picture at the zoo, thanks. You’re not exactly the type of animal I was hoping to get a picture of.”
Andy had been enjoying his morning jog around town, he had so much on his mind as of lately it was nice to clear his head. That was until he felt like someone was watching him, he turned around to face the other. “You know if you take a picture it will last longer.”
#nooooo please its perfect#is it ok if i assume andy was his math teacher before or something ??? dom graduated a couple months ago lol

“I wouldn’t doubt it,” Dominic responded, an understanding expression on his face. “A mixture? How so?” He asked, wanting to hear what personality traits the two princesses, who, in truth, he had no clue about, had in common with Emma. Once again, Dominic was taken aback by all the questions she had, and broke into a laugh. “Whoa, it feels like I’m being interrogated. How long have you been waiting to ask me all that?” He grinned at the girl, taking a moment to think of his answers. “Red, but not any just any shade – claret, to be specific. Uh, rocky road, and Pineapple Express. Your turn.”
Emma’s smile grew as she watched him smile and nod. “I suppose you’re right. However, it’s a hard habit to break.” She shrugged. “Thank you, I like to believe I'm a mixture of Princess Anna and Snow White.” She teased. If she were with her family she would have thrown in the fact she has a little bit of Tinkerbelle in her, but she didn’t know him well enough to mention that. “I think so too. I have so many questions to ask you, like what’s your favourite color? And what’s your favourite type of ice cream? What’s favourite movie to watch when you’re sad?”
#my format screwed up the first time i responded to this im sorry omg ://#but yees yes im down to plot !!!#HAHAHA yes yes we'll definitely make that happen omg

Upon hearing the girl was new to town, he raised a brow and tilted his head to the side. Great Barrington didn’t always have many newcomers (that he knew of, of course) but when they did, he would instantly begin to think of all the places he’d rather be. After finishing college, he had plans to go far, far away, with no intention of returning. “Whoa, new to town? What made you pick this place?” He asked, genuinely curious. “But anyways, welcome – all drinks are on the house, and before you reject the offer... Think of it as a housewarming present.” Realizing he hadn’t introduced himself, he extended his hand and smiled at the girl sitting beside him. “I’m Dominic, but feel free to call me Dom if you’d like. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
The young man she now recognized as the bartender made Mina feel almost thankful for her job. Considering what this guy most likely had to go through every night, a nice and quiet bookstore sounded much more welcoming. “I mean, it could be better but I can’t complain.” She replied, sighing. “It’s been an overall lazy week for me. I’m still trying to adjust to the small town way of life.” She thought of her old apartment in the bustling city. Back there everything was constantly moving and changing. Here, though, it felt like her every action could be observed by people.

After a rigorous twelve hour shift at the bar, Dominic collected his tips and sat himself down next to an unfamiliar face. He reached over the counter to pour himself a little something to drink, in attempt to take the edge off the day. Hearing a feminine voice speak up, he turned his head to face the person seated beside him. “Sort of.” He responded with a shrug, a weary look on his face. “How’s your night going?
There was something about the nights of Great Barrington that gave Mina a certain kind of peace. She had moved here nearly a month ago & the small town was slowly beginning to feel like home. She sat at the local bar, sipping her drink. Turning around, she noticed the person that sat next to her had an utterly hopeless look in their face. Mina couldn’t help but ask “ Tough night? ” as means of making conversation.

“Gee, I don’t know. If I was a pubescent little boy and saw a hot nurse standing in front of me, what do you reckon I’d be hungry for?” Dominic said wittily, disregarding the fact that it was an indecent joke. “Ah, so candy seems to be your weakness. I’ll be sure to keep some with me at all times. Never know when I’m going to get the scary you or the sweet you. And I’m not one to judge. I myself sneak in a little bit of something here and there during work. To tolerate sloppy drunks for twelve hours, I’m sure it’s alright to be a little drunk yourself.”
A laugh escaped her lips as she raised a brow, “And then what do you think they’re really starving for?” Alice hummed softly as she shook her head. “I never said I ate all of it but seriously, I need to be sweet somehow. Don’t I?”

Dominic’s eyebrows shot up for a quick second, taken aback by the fact that she had finally agreed with something he had said. He smiled and nodded, content with her response. “Definitely. Although I still don’t think you should be worrying yourself with other people’s issues. It’ll get agonizing.” Dominic’s standoffish and snarky attitude did lead to him getting in sticky situations at times with people, especially at work, but it wasn’t always the case. He was genuinely pleased that he had made a new friend. “That’s cute. You sound like a character from a Disney movie,” He laughed, grinning at her idea of their friendship growing. “I’m sure it will, I mean, we seem to be getting along pretty well.”
“Maybe I should just find a safe place between modest and confident.” Emma joked with a giggle. “I can’t help it.” Her parents always made her, and her sisters empathize with those around them, at bedtime the two questions they would ask their daughters was ‘what’s something good that’s happened to you today?’, and ‘what’s something good that happened to someone else today.’ Empathizing came as natural as breathing. “I’m really glad.” There was nothing she loved more than making new friends. “I can’t wait to see how this friendship grows.” And by grows she hoped it would grow into best friend status.
#yes omg that would be gold lol we should def plot something#also lets pretend he isnt shining a flashlight in her face lol

“I’m starting to think it isn’t food they’re starving over.” Dominic hinted, teasing the girl standing in front of him. “Greedy much? What, you trying to keep all that sweet stuff for yourself?”
Her eyes rolled at his comment, “Well I was using it as a metaphor but you can think of it as whatever you wish.” Shaking her head she shifted her body to look at them, “It’s just these damn children are starving when they come to the office, I swear it’s just pathetic.”

“Good point, but being confident is pretty hot too. I don’t see why you would feel the need to be ashamed of something like that.” Dominic chuckled in agreement with the other girl – life had by far improved for him over the last couple of months, when he had become a creature of the night. Immortality sounded pretty terrible at times but it came with a perk... Being able to desensitize himself from certain situations. “That’s sweet, Emma, but you don’t need to empathize with the shitty things I’ve done to be my friend. Anyway, I already consider us friends.” He beamed, a pleasant feeling sweeping over him.
“Well, modest is hottest.” She told him disregarding the fact that the term was not interchangeable between fashion and personality. “She’s doesn’t sound very nice. Nor does your ex-girlfriend, I guess you’re probably better off without both of them.” Emma shrugged, growing up in a home where feelings were expressed freely she didn’t quite understand how people could be careless with the feelings of others. “You’re right I don’t understand. But I’m trying to because I want to be your friend.”
#im laughing so hard at the thought of someone crying in front of dom like omg#he'd be so confused thisis perfect hahaha

“Hm, well I guess we’ll have to see about that, won’t we?” He smirked, enjoying their back and forth little battle of puns. “I think I can handle your bad side, Bubbles.” He teased, referencing the Powerpuff Girls. “Doubt it. Regardless if I irritate the shit out of you, you’ll still be head over heels obsessed with me. No one can resist my devilish charm and good looks.” He simpered, pleased with his response. He was unable to imagine the girl standing in front of him as anything but a preppy schoolgirl.
“Oh I wouldn’t be too sure about that, I can let out some killers when I really want to.” She protested with a cheeky grin. “Just you wait, if you manage to get my bad side it’ll not be the best thing for you, I mean I’m an angel on occasion but I’m a devil most of time and god, you don’t want to get on my bad side, it’ll just get messy.” Elissa stated, folding her arms across her chest, “Dom. Dominic. Nice, I’m Elissa, it’s a pleasure.”

“Stop being so modest. You’re a role model for the youth of tomorrow.” Dominic said with a grin, teasing the girl. “Not at all. She was a miniature version of her sister. Slightly bitchier, but hey, revenge is sweet – no matter what shape or form it comes in.” He said with a shrug. After all the incidents he had gone through while growing up, Dominic had shut off his feelings of remorse and guilt, making him indifferent towards the sadness of others. “I don’t expect you to understand why I did what I did. Shit happens, you just gotta find your own way to deal with it.”
“Me? No.” Emma rubbed the back of her neck feeling uncomfortable with what she viewed as an unrealistic expectation of her. “Did you have any feelings for her sister?” While she knew people had sex all times with no feelings attached, she never understood why. “I mean if Brett had slept with one of my sisters I’d be really hurt, that’s way worse than an ex sleeping with your best friend.” Trying to put herself in both Dom’s shoes, and his ex-girlfriend’s shoes was proving to be more difficult then she thought.

“In my book, there are two types of sticks considered healthy. I’m going to take a wild guess and assume you meant celery... The other option rhymes with stick but isn’t exactly edible.” Dominic shrugged, a smug smile etched on his face.
“Seriously, some of the children just beg for candy. I mean seriously, don’t they know what it can do to their teeth, plus what are their parents giving them? Just broccoli and sticks? Ew.” Alice rolled her eyes as her arms crossed over her petite chest, back leaned against the wall as her head faced the other.

“Come on, you know you’re damn smart. If you’re trying to tell me you’re not planning on going to college, I won’t hesitate to kick your ass. Don’t you wanna get out of this dumb little town?” Dominic frowned at the other boy, trying to sense if anything was going on with him. “Are you sure that’s all...? You’re not down about anything else? You can always talk to me, kiddo.”
He shrugged his shoulders as a smile painted across his pale lips, sitting next to the other he tilted his head to face them better. The faded sun hitting his legs as he rolled them out under them, sighing softly Alex nodded his head. “Yeah, totally understandable. Considering, everything.” Alexander hummed softly as he heard the other, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah, hopefully we don’t end up like that. I mean you probably won’t but me, maybe. I can be a mess sometimes.” A nervous laugh escaped his lips, “anyways yeah. They’re good, still don’t know much about me. But it’s cool, they’re in love my parents still and sometimes I’m ignored but it’s fine because I have time for myself.”

“Uh, I honestly didn’t think so. But then again, I do have a child of God standing in front of me.” Dominic shrugged, a sheepish smile on his face. Emma’s kindness and optimistic view of the world was refreshing, and although he disagreed with her whole ‘soulmate’ concept, he couldn’t help but find it sweet. “I dunno. I wanted to get back at her. I was naive to think that being drunk was an excuse to do something shitty, but you know what they say. Drunk words, and actions for the matter, are sober thoughts.”
“Oh. Well. Does perfection even exist?” Things Emma thinks are perfect: true love, sunsets during the month of October, sunflowers, and watching the sunrise on rooftops with strong cups of coffee, things Emma knows aren’t perfect people, human or not people, she knows they’re flawed; yet someone could screw up a million times, and she’d still see the good in them. “Why would you sleep with her sister?” She wrinkled her nose confused on the correlation between his girlfriend cheating and him sleeping with her sister. “I don’t know if there is a way to say that without sounding promiscuous.” She shrugged. “But I guess if that’s what you enjoy.”
