A fun little sequence from the Don Newton Batman run, as Jason (V1.0 acrobat, rather than v2.0 street punk), still a novice Robin at this point is sent on a mission to chase the Mad Hatter whilst Batman deals with a mind controlled Nocturna. And with magnificent art by the much missed Don Newton, and colours that jump off the page (The old four colour printing process had it’s limits, but it also worked beautifully at times)
The three page chase is great fun (and monkeys make everything even MORE fun no?) and the fourth is the last page of the book and is just an image I love, a simple shot of Batman and Robin side by side.

Here’s what appears to be the companion piece to that Don Newton Superman painting I posted earlier. A decidedly golden-age take on the Caped Crusader!
