i guess for me it's all about the fact that people aren't loved because they're good. that's irrelevant. there's no objective quality you can have that can make you loved. people will love you but they will love you by accident. they will love you because something you said happened to charm them, because you were nice when they were having a bad day, because you made them laugh unexpectedly. there is no inherent quality of lovability in a human being it's about a relationship built. and building a relationship is half compatibility and half random chance, and compatibility is half chance again. people will never love you because it's correct to do so

also literally not to get emotional over the cutest moment but like. 'Mmmmgggg no I don't wanna' about diving into that hole and pulling away and then forcing himself to do it. dean thesis. He doesn't wanna go down the hole but he will because he could save someone's life by doing it and because there's a monster at the end of the tunnel and because no one else is gonna do it. what is dean if not the guy diving down the dirt hole because there's no other option. also it's so cute

i think on september 18th dean bakes cas a birthday cake and cas is like ?? thank you dean this is very sweet but why is today my birthday? and dean says well because it’s the day you became….you. and cas frowns and says i’ve always been me. and dean says yeah no i know but like, you know. not you you. and cas says dean. i have changed so much since that day that i don’t think that version of me was me me either. the first time i came to earth was a milennia ago, and the time i became human i don’t wish to celebrate. none of these qualify as the human concept of a “birthday.” and dean gets irritated because he baked a cake and he was just trying to be nice damn it!!!!!! but before he can storm off (with the cake) cas is like dean wait that doesn’t mean this day isn’t important. it’s one of the most important days in all of my existence because it’s when we met :) that cake should say “happy first meeting, cas and dean.” and dean. doesn’t know what to say to that. except to just grumble and be like okay. sure. shut up and eat your damn cake. but he does go get writing icing to change what it says on top
