whats the difference between grundos cafe, neopets, and other neopets fansites?

Beyond just elements like UI and fanmade things like paints/styles.

I'm trying to get myself to commit to playing more on neopets more than what I have, which, is hardly at all. I might enjoy a site that gives me more freedom, no FOMO, no transactions, I can work towards what I want without barriers or time restrains.

But I adore true neopets. Its just hard to see what some are about until I'm able to commit time into accounts - especially if Im going to wait a bit to join Grundo's Cafe.

totally understand, thats why I had my Grundos Cafe account 7 months ago but hadnt moved there until recently. GC is a remake of classic neopets but with some gameplay differences to improve the site.

Absolutely no bigotry is allowed on GC. IP that promotes hate speech isn't even allowed. This is what made me go 'okay Ill start over on here' Because I couldnt stand the poor moderation on Neopets anymore.

On the flip side of that, the rules on boards are so much lighter every where else. It feels like you can actually chat with others

2) The items on GC have a purpose to the game play. I see the Neoschool mentioned a lot but theres even more than that! Petpets will ask for food and a daily item, Guild Gardens can be donated to with gardening supplies, Your Neopets can learn a musical instrument, plushies can be played with and tracked. I think theres more Im forgetting

3) This one feels ridiculous unless youve been playing Neopets but Things on the site just work. I didnt realize how in the habit I was of not clicking things on the site. like the world challenge, puzzle emporium, and the help section. Because theyre either so out of date or not running on Neopets. They actually run on GC

4) Im mentioning this one only bcz it drove me insane on Neopets. All the parts of the submissions to the Gazette (their version of Neotimes) actually works. Hell you can even edit your submissions up until the close off date. You dont need to know what times youre supposed to submit by ridiculous tracking of what dates the judges looked at last, it tells you if submissions are closed. Thats it. It just works. Yes even the thumbnail image attachment.

Other random things but this list would be too long: RELICSSS, site events, customizeable sidebar, their pride REs are so damn cute, better notifications, All of the Quests are useful and not either broken or worthless, Gilded name tokens, shield tokens, really all of the tokens (which are part of relics), all the converted games work, Blocking actually blocks, ability to ping ppl on boards, view sent neomails, soooo many QOL things like it would be an endless list

part of the problem with my neopets document is that they are making absolutely incomprehensible design choices at a rate that it is genuinely difficult to keep pace with

they are trying to convince us that this is in any way shape or form a flotsam. it's like they saw the nimmo and were like okay we clearly just didn't go far enough with this one. i feel unglued. nothing is off the table now.

So i’m doin like a skill practice where i learn different textures but using the flight icons from flightrising. Here three different types of textures i have done since beginning of the year. These all soon be available on my resources for people to use.

usd comms are open for all of january! i'm going to my first furry con at the end of january, and i'd like to have a little $$ for it. so i'm open for any type of comm i've offered before!

here are a few types of art i've offered before, but if there's something you want done that isn't listed here feel free to ask me about it! examples have the type in the description.

prices listed are the minimum i'd take- i usually ask more for more complex designs. i only take payment via paypal invoice. i take payment after you approve a sketch (please make sure you are happy with the sketch! i cannot make large changes after that point)

i prefer animal-ish characters but can do humans as well. not good with mecha, vehicles, or firearms. nudity and nsfw art is also an option- dm for examples

character art: icon- 5 each, 3 for 12 bust- 10 chibi- 15 halfbody- 12 for lines, 20 for color fullbody- 20 for lines, 30 for color

character design: custom character design- 10 -i design you a new character! give me a theme, species, and/or color palette and get a new Guy ponification- 10 -i turn your preexisting character into a my little pony! your oc, fr dragon, favorite blorbo, i Will make them a horse

physical media: woodburning- prices vary! these require a little more discussion, so dm me. popular items are boxes, pins/keychains, and plaques not pictured- i also use watercolors and colored pencils, and can do the above in these media instead (no icons, chibis, or character design)

Lately whenever I have a lab rat who zaps into a color with clothes, I've attached a petpet with "NM Doomful 4 Clothes" before dropping the pet off at the pound.

With my latest lab rat - I actually got a Neomail from the new adopter asking about getting the clothes for the pet!

So now they don't have to deal with a naked Desert Gnorbu anymore haha. And it's sweet that they renamed the petpet to "Doomful" :)
