dev grunts, unsure how to respond, but well... what is he supposed to do? "can't be crying over it everytime i see death and misfortune can i?" he chuckles at his turn of phrase though, the awkward little tone that he now knows is usual for the other. he can't decide what to say to it, except, "so next time you won't be scared to find me here?"
he chuckled again, twice, in such a short time, that was unlike him but this big man melting under him it was amusing to watch. delightful to feel, hands on his body, lips on his neck, claiming, taking but also offering, in his own way. "i think the chemistry's fine, don't you?" he asks, he can't fanthom elias not having noticed the signs he was putting out, drawing dev in like this.
they were complete opposites, it was fair to say, but even so there was a bond there if they were open to it. dev was not going to jump onto it, allies were one thing, understanding another, trusting someone to stick around through thick and thin, through death and tragedy and waking nightmares? that he could not do. this was a port in a storm, a comfort through the darkness of night and it would remain as such, even if elias so far wasn't scared away by... dev.
"you don't ...look like you do." even when he spoke of what he saw, it was ...calm, collected & calculated. no emotions, no expression on his face other than that dark, mysterious ...something he always carried around with him. not that it was a bad look. but that made it difficult to read him. but hearing this, hearing the horrors he must be facing every day ... pulled on his heartstrings. expression softening - even though it'd never been a hard one anyway & if they hadn't been in a rather peculiar position to begin with, he would've aimed for a hug. maybe later. just ... for comfort. nothing more, nothing less. hugs were good, elias liked hugs. they brought so many emotions across - in one way or another. "i'm .. sorry. for what it's worth, my door's always open if you ... i dunno, wanna talk, i guess. i mean... we don't gotta talk, i just ... i mean you saw my door is literally open." extending an invitation was more difficult than he expected. geez.
"oh." well, that was a valid point elias couldn't deny. surely, even demigods didn't go around pushing people they aren't interested in into walls like this - bodies almost one, warm & soft against one another."uhhh, right. yeah.. i uhh, yeah." okay okay. not ideal circumstances, but ... he might still be able to salvage this. dev didn't run yet.
the kiss ...came out of the blue & yet not, because elias had been waiting for dev to finish his sentence when it happened, so there went that. but at the same time... tall, handsome, mysterious dev kissing him.. was not a bad alternative. he melted against the wall, trying to - well, he didn't really have to try letting dev take the lead, arms fumbling a little behind them, but they quickly found fabric to latch onto. their lips parted & he was ... visibly ..content. silly little smile on his lips, though his brow perked. we'll see? little breathless from the kiss still, he gave a small nod. "that's f-fair, i uh... i mean... gotta see if there's chemistry and all.. right?" maybe he was the only one who ...felt it already? would be typically him, but then again ... with dev being the way he was, elias never had a chance to begin with.

that was as clear a yes as elias was going to give him, dev knew that by now. he was all too happy to wait and go for him in the comfort of his cabin but there was no time for this right now, not when adrenaline was pumping in his veins, not when the presence of moros burned some new sense into him.
"no one's gonna catch us." he whispered in his ear, lips tracing his skin, hands feeling his body up as he turned elias around. big lug of a man but he was all soft, not at all what dev had expected but he knew that now.
"this can't wait." he pressed their lips together, having to lean forward to reach his lips, hand on his hair while the other guided elias' hands down. he was all ready for him, biting into his lips as it went from sort of, almost sweet to pure want. "i think you'll enjoy taking care of it right here... where you like so much."
later, there'd be time for conversation. or drinks, or sleep... elias seemed to enjoy the company and dev well, he didn't mind it half as much as he should. right now though, he needed to pour all that energy somewhere.
elias meant to do this for a while now, but ... well, he had no excuse, really because it wasn't like something happened to him or anything. it was .. just himself. he'd been the problem. as per usual. he should be used to it by now, but part of him found itself surprised time & time again. still, he was kind of back on track now - or tried to be & had made his way to the library to look for some info on ... well, a lot.
he liked books. books were gentle. books were quiet, they didn't talk back & they didn't make him nervous. he didn't ramble around books - though he often found himself rambling about them, which .. was not good when he was trying to impress people. but ...still.. he was fine. it was all fine. the ark & being here wasn't so bad actually. sansa was out & about right now - he was trying to let tristan's advice ....take root. he was trying not to helicopter dad her, especially because the ark was safe. right? yeah.
busy reading through the backs of books - looking for a very special one to help him find out what happened to his father, he didn't hear or see dev coming. little grin on his lips when he found it, he made a little hah sound, which quickly turned into a little oh when a tall, warm body pressed him into the shelf. confused... was probably a good word to describe his mental state until eyes roam to find a hand on his & words were rumbled against his neck.
well, he knew that voice. "d-dev, hi. ummm... oh, okay. yeah." so dev ... was a mystery, but sometimes he just ... didn't get him. or maybe he wasn't meant to. "uh, yeah. y-you mean like ... here? right here?" yes, they had hooked up & yes, elias was very much open to hooking up again. or many.......many more times. but they'd get kicked out, wouldn't they? well, the library had been almost empty when he came in, so maybe.... bad idea. stop it. "you uh... you wanna like... you know, go somewhere else? a-anywhere, i mean i'm not saying no! i just, i'm ... what if they catch us?" there was that point about rambling he made prior.

"well, not sure any of us is what can be considered healthy," he mused, hand fixing his hair up some as he stared at the other. it was a sorry competition the one they were in, but dev was somehow, getting used to it.
"well..." dev started, shaking his head slightly, "i'm not sure, really. distraction, maybe. i got used to having a whole city moving around me, the chaos was distracting. if not, i could always go to a pub or a club." here options were far more limited. he made do, but it was not the same.
"same for you, nights can be long, and lonely." was this flirting? friendly offers? was it just two weird guys commiserating? he was never sure what vibes he was giving off, or getting most of the time. that was why he preferred to just be direct, "my cabin's a good place as any to not sleep. i have some drinks, if you enjoy that."
Armando rolled his shoulders into a shrug, "not often. I still need to sleep, and I'll get a few hours around sunrise, but not enough that people might consider healthy," that last word was in air quotes. "Hassle, definitely."
HIs lips pursed, and he hummed in thought, bringing a hand up to twist at the stubble on his chin, theatrically so. "Definitely the title, but we can see what prize you can win for being the most unfortunate. Anything you're in desperate need of, besides sleep or a break?" He'd help if he could, still unsure what exactly he could offer short of taking the others abilities away from him to give him some peace, but that wasn't an option.
"Never alone," he smiled, "and if you're awake and need someone, I'm there."

@thunderclasped
Dev is covered in blood when he gets back to the Ark. Dried up now, staining clothes and his face. His hands are shaking slightly, and he grabs one fist with the other to steady it. He started the day throwing up atop a winged lion, and he ended it saving people with the help of his father. Using doom to destroy a raging god's influence, guided by Moros' himself as he forced him out of screaming cultists.
Though he knew he was his son, that doom was his destiny, Dev had never felt it quite as deeply as he did now. Not in fear or resignation, not even in a power hungry way, but in acceptance. In recognition, if only for a second he commanded doom itself and he changed people's fates. He never had before believed he could.
Warm water washed away the blood, but his heart kept pounding, adrenaline coursing through him. Moros' presence as real as it had been right then and there. He should call his dad... but first.
He found him in the library, hair still wet, hand opening and closing as he felt dread cling to him like a protective layer, a cloud that hung above him for better or worse.
Words were probably best, but he found he had few of those now, he watched him grab a book, and a second later Dev forced it back into the shelf with a hand over his. Pressing him against the shelf as well, as his lips met the sensitive skin of Elias' neck. "Can you feel it?" He whispered against his ear, bodies glued together. There was so much unbound energy he doubted he couldn't. People usually avoided Dev for a reason. "I need you right now." He offered then, as explanation. They had reached an agreement had they not? And this was the exact situation that called for it.

dev grunted, perhaps he was not as young and eager like some of the others here but he wasn't against harmless fun. it had been a long time since he swam in anything but an actual pool, even in the ark, he'd managed to avoid going in so far. with a sigh, he took advantage of the other moving under the water to get rid of his clothes. he was not getting it all wet thank you very much, entering into the cold cold water with only his boxers as he took a dive as well, looking for the other under the water.
𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧 and he laughed. " yes, it's so nice here. i know the view is breathtaking, but it's way cooler in here. come on, get comfortable and come cool down. " riah swam closer to where the other man was and he chuckled. " suit yourself. but i'm telling you the water is nice. you're missing out. " he said as he swam away, going under the water and enjoying it all the same.

Dev shrugged, hand on his face for a second. "That would be ideal..." He agreed, "I've been trying not to look into the future. I can't see anything good and I don't know how helpful it might be at all." He shook his head.
"We can focus on something else, until shit hit the fans again, at least?" He suggested, "I don't think anyone would mind if we took a break, or did some practicing until the next crazy demigod or god or monster decides to fuck shit up."
Masyn lets out a quiet hum before nodding his head. "Thanks. I suppose I'll do the same." Masyn says with a nod. "And I'm sure we'll get it all worked out and figured out. Just have to take a little time. Although the sooner the better I always say." Masyn says with a smirk.

Dev nods along, he too is up at odd hours, most often than not that's what goes on when images of tragedy follow him wherever he goes, even sleep. "well, if i ever manage to figure stuff out... i'll invite you along for some point and bash support. but i'm just as lost right now." he could maybe attempt to look into the future, see some of the threats coming for them but how helpful is it going to be seeing the ark destroyed over and over and everyone dead.
Masyn snorts before nodding his head. "That's true. Although I tend to be up all weird hours of the night." Masyn admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. Masyn snorts and nods his head. "That's true. But damn." Masyn says with a chuckle. "I would like to make sense of it, but I'm not that type of a guy. More of a point and bash kind of guy than a detective."

"you just... don't sleep?" he asks, that seemed odd, even for someone powered by the night, he himself felt better in the dark but that didn't mean his body didn't need rest, oftentimes it was the opposite really, he couldn't get any rest or sleep no matter how much his body ached and begged for it. how much his mind suffered.
"i suppose that can be a hassle, so i'll give you that." he mused, a hand running through his hair, "what do i get for it? or just the title of unfortunate? cause to be fucking honest i'm quite done with it." his words were true, even if spoken with some humor, what little of it he could muster. a sign perhaps, of how he actually enjoyed the other's company.
"at least we don't need to be awake alone, for what is worth."
Armando couldn't help the small chuckle that followed, and he gave Dev a playful nudge to his arm. "This time," He repeated back. Dev's wasn't an ability he was jealous of, not in the slightest, nor would he say he was afraid of it either. Death was something they were all anticipating, and given the monumental tasks they were constantly given, it would probably come sooner rather than later. Armando was ready for it, mentally prepared in the loosest sense, but he couldn't imagine it. Dev saw it all, every eventuality in such precise detail. It had to take a toll.
"I don't sleep," he said with a shrug, "my father's power lies in the night sky so that means in the middle of the night, when it's completely dark, I feel at my strongest." He was used to it now, mostly. "It's a great time to read, or walk of just...sit and exist, but it means that during the day I'm a little more out of sorts." He slapped a hand to Dev's shoulder, letting it rest there, "but yeah, I'd say you're still the unlucky one."

Dev grunts in disapproval, as if chiding him for being foolish but says nothing, it wouldn't matter anyway if one of them wanted to break some doors they probably could do it easily. Still.
"who said i don't mind it?" he questions, expression as blank as it had been a few seconds ago, bodies still close as he examined the other. "you can get used to tragedy. it's never pretty, specially lately, but there's only so many headless people you can see before it becomes..." he sighs, a dull sickness. dread, building up, horror, a wall to put through, hard exterior to keep it from bringing him down.
he had seen enough death even before the visions.
"no..." he believes him, and it's... he doesn't know what it is, elias is hard to figure out. or maybe he is just unlike the people dev is used to. either way, this is not what he expected, he considers pulling away but then decides he came too far for that.
"hmm," he hums, letting him go on, all too happy to be praised, whatever elias' game is. then he chuckles, dark and sweet, such a big man to be fumbling for words. feeling? whatever could he feel but lust, loneliness perhaps, looking for comfort in the wrong place. probably all of it. "i wouldn't be pushing you against the wall if i wasn't into men, elias."
"as for you, well..." he shook his head, having to stand on the tip of his feet to be at a nice height to bump his head back with his own and take his lips into a kiss, tasting him from the source this time. "i guess we'll see." if they survived the week, at least.
that pause felt ominous.
did he really come to talk or had he come ehre for another reason entirely?
like what, though?
"….it's just us here, nobody locks the door." right? damn, was he the only one not locking their door? was he too naive when it came to this? then again, the shit they faced… a little lock on a door wouldn't exactly change the world now, would it? well, dev didn't feel like a threat. a little intimidating, maybe, but not a threat. he just had that aura to him; all dark & gloomy, but ..elias wasn't afraid. he was tall, too. so tall. so dreamy.
"…great. that makes me feel better. how… do you do it? how can you see it and … not mind?" did he mind? did it bother him? he seemed..calm, mostly. maybe a little too calm. "i mean.. i'm trying not to die." like, for a long …long time if he could.
"uhhh… no….?" question mark? he was surprised, if anything & confused, maybe feeling a little shy. he didn't come home to handsome semi-strangers waiting in his cabin for him all the time. or male ones anyway. when it came to this, the fact he was thor's son… had been a blessing, because so far from home, he didn't feel like he had to hide who he truly was. what he truly wanted. he could indulge, not in the dark - not in the shadows, but just …. indulge. right? sure, he'd …possibly sent signals to dev, though sharing his coffee had been ..a friendly gesture, not …one with a deeper meaning. or had it been? was that how it came across?
& sure, he'd ….been eyeing him. who could blame him? elias was a starved, closeted man who was presented with tall, dark & mysterious eyecandy. who the hell could blame him for appreciating the sight? for wanting to …. dip a toe into new waters? his back hit the wooden wall of his little home with a thud & his breath caught in his throat. dev .. was everywhere, in his sight, his nose, his lungs. his personal space.
"i… thought… you looked really good." hadn't it been obvious? "i hoped you may… i guess i wanted you to notice me, see if you uhhhh, felt the same. i mean, not feeling.. like.. if you thought the same." elias wasn't looking for love with him. he was, he always was. elias may ..be big in size, but truthfully, he was a chihuahua puppy at best & being so close to dev, who'd caught his attention anyway, having him be so bold & their bodies flush… didn't help. dev was into guys, right? or was he just messing with him? god, his heart couldn't take that. "you're uhmm.. into g-guys, too…. right? into.. me?"

"are you inviting me?" dev questioned, eyebrow raising as he approached the water. he didn't know why he was drawn to this place (and he didn't want to lean into his powers to find out if some great tragedy had or would happen there) but he found himself walking towards it again. he also wasn't the type to just jump in for a swim, at least, not into running water. he fucking missed london. "i don't usually go for spontaneous swims."
open starter + @conquerstarters location: waterfall
𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, more like five. he showered twice and still, he had the feeling of the beetles on him. it wasn't a nice one. winter really wasn't a fan of bugs crawling on him, so the feeling of the beetles on him was no fun. even when he went to the waterfall, he felt like he could enjoy the running water on his body, a feeling that was better for him. " okay, this feels nice, yea. " he said to himself. eyes closed as he swam over the running water. after he had enough, he swam away and he noticed that someone arrived. " oh hey, you coming in? "

He grunted, unbothered while incredibly bothered as well. He appreciated that the other didn't act like a scared kitten around him, or an overeager pup, that got tiring quickly when they were facing all the shit they already were and were going to in the future. He wiped away at the tears, shaking his head as he breathed in deep.
"That's what I get..." He says simply, images of death and despair filling his head until he could focus on the present again. "Got a real lucky draw with my dad I guess." He wouldn't mention it but being surrounded by demigods who could fly and shit made him a little bitter. Or well, more bitter. "It's always rough. But hey, I didn't see you dead this time."
He held back a chuckle. "You get any downsides to your shit or am I the only unlucky one here?"
Armando was very aware of how the Aztec side of the pantheons worked, all the gods and deities and the potential benefits their designated offspring might bring to the fight, despite their whereabouts currently being unknown. The other gods however, from the other factions and other religions and other point across the world, he wasn't so well versed in.
Dev was someone Armando had interacted with more than the others, perhaps their closeness in age offered a little more comfort and familiarity in their life experiences, as radically different as they may be, as opposed to the younger, more eager spirited members of the ark.
Despite all that, watching, whatever it was that had just happened, was still a perplexing thing to witness, but he allowed Dev the time he needed.
"Don't apologise," he finally spoke, "and no, no, you started doing that thing again so I stopped." He paused, a thoughtful gaze lingering on Dev for a few seconds longer. "You alright? That seemed like a rough...whatever that was..."

"Well... you are here. Right now." He says, then shrugs, "Kind of hard not to have something keeping you up in this place..."
God he wanted a drink. Or something stronger. "Honestly, I don't even try to make sense of it anymore." He chuckles, a tired sigh coming from his lips, what else could he say? "I guess I'm just glad we're still around and don't have any eggs worth stealing. At least, not personally."
Masyn let out a snort. "And what makes you think something is keeping me up?" Masyn asked. His tone kept even before he let out a smirk. "Just all of...This. It's a lot to take in. Especially knowing that there some crazy bitch out there trying to steal people's dragon eggs and kill people." Ironic coming from the ex-assassin who's probably done a hell of a lot worse.

dev shrugs, then shakes his head. "just yours." he explains, well, sort of anyway. he doesn't really break into anywhere, not without reason. "door wasn't locked and i needed to... talk." mistake, perhaps, if there was someone not so well intentioned at camp, not that elias knew if he was, well intentioned. maybe he wasn't after all, but he was no threat to him. no more than he was to anyone who got close.
"we're all doomed, son of thor. i just saw... a few ways, it could've happened." he explains, eyes scanning his face. he wasn't running scared, not yet. hm. "didn't though. not so far..."
"are you playing coy?" he asks, elias doesn't seem coy, he offered his coffee, he looked like someone who knew he wanted, and wanted it known. dev was not one to flirt around, not in a place like this, not when there was so much at stake, direct and quick to the point. as distant as he could be, preferably, that was his strategy. he didn't expect to catch eyes like this, but then... people got lonely. human nature, perhaps. that too, led to doom. "you're not... well," he shakes his head, leads elias into a wall, in his own home. this is... nice, he likes it. the way he shifts, the way he tries to keep up not scared, intrigued, maybe.
"tell me what you thought about. those times i caught you looking. if you're good i'll let you have what you're trying to ask for..." it was an order, though there was no rush in his tone, no forced authority. he didn't expect elias to follow, yet believed he would. all the while he pressed against the larger body, let him feel their heat. his smell, the flashes of warm skin beneath fabric. all close enough to touch.
the last thing he’d expected was for someone to not only go into his cabin, but to also wait in it …. for him. for him? was that why dev had come? was he looking for him or was he looking for something else? the cub? no way. it was gifted to him — not dev. not this time anyway. next time someone else would get lucky, most likely dev. but he got the little one now & he was determined to keep his promise. raise it, train it, visit home with it. well, one of its homes. because he liked to think that the island was it’s gone now, too.
"but that’s… you always go into unlocked cabins? i guess that’s a stupid question.” he had the answer right here inside his cabin. well, okay. that still didn’t quite explain …why.
“okay….?” what? what the fuck? he … was going to die? was that a trick? eyes chase the other’s, hoping to gauge how serious he was by watching them, watching him … as he moved closer? what was happening? “when? what ...what happened? if i’m doomed, why.. why are you here?” dev was about the only friend in camp. were they friends? kinda? they shared spit & coffee, that was more than he shared with most… ever.
he wasn’t even sure why dev pulled him in the way he did. maybe it was the fact he was his opposite — dark & mysterious, which … honestly was quite hot intriguing. he came closer & all elias could think about was the the scent he left behind on his mug — he’d memorized it. “you… do? uhhhh.” nervous little laugh, hands shifting in his lap, his eyes …. lost in the dark depths of the son of moros’ eyes. “i’m …” he swallowed, hard, but the lump refuses to dissipate. “i-is that why you’re here?” was he…? did he want to….? were they going to…? he thought dev hated his guts. he seemed to ..unhappy around him. well, not that you had to love someone to… right. stop thinking like a love-sick virgin, dumbass. "help each other … how?" he was very close.

Dev groaned in reply judging that clear enough. He knew all about late nights, if the bags under his eyes and the tired stance wasn't clear enough. "What's keeping you up?" He asked, looking over to the sky. The ark was a beautiful place, and yet, not one Dev found himself truly relaxing in. Though he could count on his fingers the places that did put him at ease, the times he truly felt relaxed.
@doomsdev
Masyn let out a groan as he rolled his neck. The muscles in his neck popping as he did so. He looked over at the other man and offered him a small smirk. "Sorry man. Late night." Masyn said with a sheepish grin as he felt the other man's eyes on him. "How are you doing tonight?" Masyn asked the other man curiously.

dev grunted, a suspicious look sent the other's way. a little sniff as he wiped away at the bloody tear. "'course i did. i mean, not unexpected." he chuckled dryly. but he didn't like the other's judgement. not all of them could be the children of thor or whatever, some of them came from somewhere darker, deeper. it was fine. whatever the hell his father was, dev was doing alright so far.
intimidation, it seemed, didn't work as intended. there was something about this guy, dev wasn't sure he liked it. he sure as hell didn't trust it. "right..." he mused, letting him talk, not offering much. "you didn't strike me as a couch potato." though, to be fair, dev was fairly used to his apartment in london, to fast food a block away, endless supply of coffee and booze and drugs and whatever the hell else one might need to turn their brain off. fuck, he missed that. "i never thought i'd fucking miss london."
elias may come off as a little self-centered, yes, maybe he was ....very focused on himself & his problems, but that didn't mean he didn't care about anybody else. he could care & still ...focus on himself. or something. "oh yeah? that doesn't really look fine." was he...bleeding from the eyes? well shit, that was concerning. or not? he didn't look concerned... how was he not concerned? "sounds like you got the short end of the stick, sorry."
these eyes on him, all dark & intimidating ... had the opposite effect on elias. joke's on you, i'm into it. not that he'd tell him that. "you mean here here or like island here? i'm not unhappy, i'm just not a uhhhh.." hands motion around them, "nature kind of guy? y'know? uhhh, books, comfy sofas, carpet, technology... that's more my comfort zone." bugs, spiders ... he wasn't a fan. he did choose to come here, though & he'd …adapt. it wasn't like he couldn't appreciate the beauty of it all. he just preferred a clean, orderly environment.

jaws, death. mechanical constructs, death. blood in water, blood and bone in concrete. flashing before his eyes, eyes, those eyes, following him. the taste of him still on his nerdy cup, warm, sweet coffee and eyes that followed him.
elias was too big and handsome to be needy, not that it stopped people, sometimes but dev... well, he wasn't one to trust it. not from someone like him, but desperate times right? he was fine, he was... different, bright.
too bright maybe. he wouldn't stick around for long, no one did one way or the other but still, he was looking. dev knew, and elias probably knew that he knew by now. he had a nice ass.
it was enough to go to his cabin, slide in to find it empty and just.. wait, he supposed. he didn't want anyone seeing him coming and going either way. "your door was open." he said simply, when the man walked in, with the pup. it might have chosen him, probably best it hadn't though.
he kissed it. he kissed it. gods.
"i saw you die." he said, getting up from the other's chair to walk to him. fucking huge body. son of thor and all that, terrible idea. "not the first time. but at least it wasn't the last."
he gave him a half smile, sliding closer. "i know what you want." he changed gears, "i think we can help each other." he was close enough to touch, close enough for their breaths to mingle in the dark. he wanted... well, it was best to focus on elias, on how obvious he'd been. less messy that way.
@doomsdev
so.. elias got himself a cub. a shadow leopard cub no less. he had absolutely no idea what to do with it; how to raise it properly, how to train or tame or handle it, but he knew he could learn. he knew that he owed the little cub as much. he killed its ...father? after all. so it was safe to say he was determined to do his very best with it.
cub in his arms, he headed for his cabin, pushing in through the darkness & door. when he went for the light however, he all but jumped, a little yelp of surprise escaping & he almost dropped the damn cub. "holy fucking... woahhh. holy geez. really?! inside...?" not that he minded the other's presence, just ..the surprise element.
heart attack survived for the time being & cub calmed down (or rather, himself), he let his eyes sit on the son of moros in his cabin. "you uh, hi." he set the sleepy little cub down in an armchair, little kiss to its head & then he headed for the other, down on the couch close-by. "you know this isn't your cabin, right? you okay? did something happen?"
