been gone for a minute, I return with my Offdensen Family HCs/OCs. I'm probably not gonna post here very often anymore, I just find myself a bit too busy to keep up with a lot of social media. So, anyways, feel free to read :3

Mary Offdensen, The Mother She's extremely work focused. She loves her family, although she might be a little over critical of them, especially following her husband's disappearance. She was initially disapproving of Charles association with DK, thinking little of the band's potential, however changed her mind when she saw how happy charles seemed. Shes since grown somewhat fond of DK, though she hasn't ever formally met the band. She gets into arguments with Charles about how he "coddles" Penny during her "melodramatic fits". She loves her daughter and her granddaughter but admittedly wishes Penny lived a different life. This causes there to be a lot of tensions in the family. She believes her husband may be dead, and never really moved on from his disappearance, though she's tried to not let it affect her anymore. It still does.

Henry Offdensen, The Father He was a big, hulking sort of man. As Charles mentions, he has strong hands :3 He worked some sort of physical job, i haven't really decided what yet. He likes music, though he never learned how to play any instrument. He was very supportive of his kids, in whatever it was they wanted to do. He was very quiet, and it made it hard to tell exactly what he was thinking. He shared his love mostly through interests, like hunting and cooking and his favorite music. I picture the offdensen house being very warm and full of personality, mostly because of how Henry likes to decorate the house. Super rustic, lots of hunting memorabilia, and family photos almost falling off the fireplace. He took Charles hunting a few times with him. He would've taken the girls had they shown any interest. He never came home from work one evening, sometime when his kids were mostly "grownups" ( anywhere from charles being like 16 at the youngest and like 24 or something at the oldest). His disappearance started a slight rift in the family dynamic that never quite returned to the way it was.

Christine Elenore Offdensen, The Older Sister. Chrissy is the eldest. Like her brother and her mother, she's very work oriented. She travels frequently, and will visit Charles if they're in the same place. The two of them get along fine. She doesn't really dislike Dethklok as a band, but finds them irritating as people. She can be very "corporate" and tends to come off as very cold. She and Penny think DK enables charles's more off putting behavior, though they don't like to bring it up around him, worried they'll further create a rift between the family and DK. She's met the band once, but they don't remember her, because they were all shitfaced,,,

Penelope Tatiana Offdensen, The Younger Sister Penny is the youngest. She feels very judged, all the time, even if there wasn't any real judging going on. She feels very worn down by her mother, who passive aggressively tells her she's not exactly thrilled with where her life has ended up. She's close with her siblings, though she turns to them for different things, usually Chrissy for emotional problems and Charles for more financial help/favors. She believes herself to be the "Fun offdensen" but also the most "messed up one". She would describe herself as the eccentric crazy aunt a lot people just seem to have. She has a daughter, who she loves. She gets by, and lives relatively comfortably. She has asked Charles to watch her daughter on more than one occasion, especially when she finds herself in one of her self described "moods". Charles, when requested, tries to go to her house rather than have his niece stay at Mordhaus. With Penny having some slight addiction problems, he's not sure if being around Dethklok would be good for her, or her daughter. She knows of Dethklok, and thinks that they seem fun, but generally not very appreciative of her brother's hard work, which Charles may or may not have been complaining about to her. Penny and Chrissy's biggest complaint is that they never see Charles in person anymore, because he's always holed up in Mordhaus, working with the band or working on tours.

I have a lot more, but that's the general gist of it. I might do more in depth posts about the Chrissy and Penny, because I really do love them so muchhh.

A Metalocalypse episode concept I can see so vividly is one where the band finds out Charles is gay, and they start doing that typical straight guy “just don’t start hitting on me hahaha” thing. To which Charles reassures them that he’s professional and wouldn’t do anything to make them uncomfortable. Also they shouldn’t worry because none of them are his type.

That last comment causes everyone in the band to take psychic damage. They spend the rest of the episode obsessing and panicking over why Charles wouldn’t like them. Meanwhile Charles is just doing his job as normal.

Edgar is for sure a victim, what do you mean?

I think his anger is misplaced, if anyone's to blame specifically for Eric's death, it's Charles, not Dethklok themselves. but I think it's super unfair to act like his anger isn't justified?

Eric and him weren't a threat, physically, financially, whatever, all they wanted was like a good review on their website if I recall correctly? Even if Charles was annoyed w/ their blackmail threats, they could've settled it in court or something right? Every time Charles is shown in court, he wins, so it's not like it would've been hard to deal with the legal route, but instead he felt the need to have them sniped at for sport. Like he smiles about it even, he thinks that shits funny (idk it kinda is, but that's not the point)

Edgar and Eric were just a couple of guys, they weren't like armed trained killers trying to ransom the band or something, they just wanted a bit of appreciation from their favorite band? And it's also not just that Eric died, his head got blown off, in front of Edgar. That's traumatizing as shit omfg? I dunno, maybe I'm just sappy because I have a brother, but I'd be fucking pissed off too? It's a totally valid reason for being upset? It wasn't like he did anything morally wrong? He recorded the Fansong when he wasn't supposed to. Okay? And MAYBE he could've expected a level of brutal retaliation from DK, but I'm sure he thought very highly of the band and Charles, and assumed they'd see the sense in his argument or whatever, and instead he basically got hunted for sport.

As for the scene where he's talking to the victims of the explosion, I think he means more metaphorically rather than literally. YES, obviously, blame falls squarely on the Revengencers, but he means to say that Dethklok's apathy toward their fanbase/"regular jack-offs" has sort of led to this point. Whether that claim actually has any merit is sort of another argument, but I believe that Edgar is simply being poetic in that scene rather than literal.

"How can you still be devoted to those rich assholes, when i cannot be?" sort of thing I guess. Whatever.

I guess I'm just upset that somehow "Blackmail > Murder" is the argument here? Charles reacts with overkill, that's part of the shows humor or whatever. Oh, you recorded the song after we said not to? I am going to have you shot. Oh you downloaded an MP3 from the internet? I am going to have you kidnapped and tortured. Murderface had a meltdown on TV? Time to kidnap multiple people and force the "disagreeable ones" to change their fucking identity.

But, even if someone else is really more at fault, Edgar is more annoyed that DK still has fans, despite the obvious nature of their crimes and apathy and stuff. They're the one's who have sort of enabled this environment in the first place.

As for MMA, again, anger misplaced, but not wrong for feeling slighted/attacked/hurt. I think his brother was just doing his job, he knew the risks, etc. etc. But his death was honestly more of an accident anyways. If anyone's to blame, it's General Crozier for sending him into Mordhaus, and like, 216 for impaling AGENT 216's head on the diamond encrusted codpiece.

BUT DESPITE ALL OF THIS!

That's also the point. MMA, and Magnus I'm bringing him into this, can't get over their anger, their hurt, their want for revenge. That's why Edgar does. He works with DK, he comes to realize "This isn't what my brother would want. To stay mad at the band we both loved so much?" In Black Fire Upon Us, he hesitates to kill Skwisgaar and Pickles, because of their camaraderie (talking about sucking ur own dick I guess is really heartwarming?) He's reminded of his brother, and how they shared their interest in Dethklok. He gives it up! Revenge isn't worth destroying those memories! Revenge isn't worth destroying the band he loves! Revenge. Isn't. Worth it. What's the point in staying so angry? It wouldn't bring Eric back, and it would only bring other's down.

It's part of why Edgar works with Dethklok, despite his valid reasons for being mad at them. AND, it's why Magnus works against them, despite wanting to be their friend still and honestly having a way less (IN MY OPINON) valid reason for revenge. He's allowed to be upset, but compared to Edgar and MMA, who both lost something you can't get back, Magnus is mad that.... he got in an argument, lost a fight that he started, and the band got famous without him. And, Nathan's said that they could've forgiven Magnus if he'd ever given them a chance to, so he just was mad for like.... nothing

AND that's why he realizes, too late, that yeah, this is silly, I shouldn't have stayed so mad at them, I should've just tried to work this out.

I dunno. Long rant over I guess. The long story short is that, I think ur wrong, Edgar is a victim, he's just Revengencing against the wrong people. But he overcomes that, and instead learns to accept what's happened and to... idk I guess forgive and forget. Bygones, amirite?

And as for Magnus and MMA? They just don't realize how silly they're being, because they're blinded by anger™ and pain™.

And hold up did he really tried to tell the burn victim dethklok fans that dethklok is the reason why they’re burned when him, the kid wearing his brothers dead skin and the metal face guy literally blew up the coffee shop, disfiguring and killing all of those people because they’re mad at the consequences from their own actions (well metal face guy’s brother was killed but again he tried to infiltrate Mordhaus so consequences of his actions)

I love that MTL has so much representation. Not only do all the characters have different heights, body types and faces, they also have disabilities, illnesses, traumas, addictions, etc.

Nathan is very clearly autistic. Pickles has asthma that gets worse when stressed. They’re both severe alcoholics, Nathan even to the point where he regularly needs liver transplants. Toki has diabetes and PTSD. He gets panic attacks, age regresses and becomes mute around his parents. Skwisgaar is most likely also autistic, always stimming with his guitar, and experiences physical pain when he’s unwell mentally (also has a severe cilantro allergy lmao). Murderface is a depressed, suicidal IBS king with a lisp. He also seems to deal with cystic acne on his ass (which is SO PAINFUL).

And the side characters. Knubbler lost his eyes and had them replaced. Edgar is a paraplegic due to a car accident, completely wheelchair bound, delusional about his brother’s death (which he overcomes thankfully), and at the same time he’s one of the smartest people in the show tbh. General Crozier deals with PTSD related nightmares. The Metal Masked Assassin was born with albinism, he appears to have deformities, and wears a splint or support after getting his arm broken. Murderface’s grandpa, completely immobile and unable to speak after his stroke. Even Rockzo’s life went completely downhill because of his addiction tbh and I sometimes wonder what kind of person he would be without all the damage from all the coke.

I’m probably forgetting someone and please add on to the list if you want. But I’m just. I’m so impressed. So much representation in a show, and none of it feels forced.

Sat down to draw charles the other day only to suddenly realize I actually do not know how to draw charles. My science team is currently working on a solution (I am looking at pictures of him and just really really hoping I'm gleaning anything from it)

Not to fish post on the metalocalypse post but I've always been so interested in this! Like I'm sure they just did it for the bit, but it goes with the ocean/water theme of the show!! Its like so so important to me, though if I'm being honest i dont think I'd trust the boys with fish. Get Charles or the klokateers to do the tank maintenance. It's not super hard, but they also let the really cool cat drink alcohol and took him on a jetski so-

But yeah I've always thought that they should have just like a MASSIVE aquarium in mordhaus. Fill it with like... brutal fish or whatever (sharks? certainly not.....unless?) Like it seems like something they'd have idk
