“Diana…” Barda hesitated, “… She was right beside me one minute and the next she had vanished into thin air…”

Diana felt her whole body tense up. She needed to find her son quickly before something…

           “Was there anything left behind after you noticed she was gone?” Diana interrupted. “A symbol, a piece of hair or clothing…”

           As soon as the words left Diana’s lips he knew where Diana’s mind was going, her family.

“We aren’t at that point yet Diana,” Orion tried to coo.

Diana stared up into Orion’s face coldly. She lowered her shoulder she allowing Orion’s hand to fall to his side. She took a few steps away from him.

“They know nothing…” Orion replied as Diana walked away from him. “HE knows nothing…”

           “A symbol?” Barda asked her voice puzzled. “I don’t recall…. What…”

           Barda’s voice started to fade in an out of the com.

           “Barda did you find something?” Orion asked as he watched Diana began to pace back and forth.

           “… Who in and the hell was drinking in here…” Barda replied her voice growing loftier as she spoke.

           “Night cap Barda?” Orion chuckled.

           “Now is not the time!” Diana replied hastily.

           “Diana calm down,” Orion said as his eyes followed Diana’s every move.

           “…You don’t know my family like I do,” Diana blurted out as she snapped back to look at Orion standing behind her. “You’ve never seen what they are capable of…”

           “Diana I swear to we’ll find her,” Barda replied over the com. “I have Scott scoping out the rest of the palace. As soon as we know anything I will inform you.”

           “Thank you Barda,” Orion answered. “Please keep this between you and Scott. I don’t want to create a panic.”

           “Understood High Father,” Barda replied before the comlink turned off.

           Diana sighed as she released the hilt of her blade.

           “Please Diana let me and Barda handle this,” he whispered softly. “You and Rao are safe here…”

           “Are we truly safe anywhere Orion,” Diana replied as she wrapped her hands about herself. “I defied a god… There is no place for me or my son can hide from him…”
