Unfortunately I can’t really make a design for that 😅

Design-wise I can do a lot with very little description. The Axes are a testament to that. But I still need something.

The Everybody Weapon does not have a physical description.

Not even a Type of weapon! At least I could be confident that the Axes would be Axe Shaped. Everybody Weapon gives me nothing.

So a while ago I made a Deltarune X Magical Girl AU, but in the process of working on it a bunch of life stuff happened and the big exposition comic I was working on got pushed to the sidelines.

And now looking back on my ideas for the AU as a whole (and with ch 3+4 coming out soon) I decided I wanted to completely rework it.

But I also didn’t want all of the work I already put into the main Exposition Comic[tm] to go to waste, so I’m posting it in all its unfinished and poorly paced glory:

Enough people compared my Deltarune weapon designs to Adventure Time weapons and the idea of the Twisted Sword working similarly to the Grass Sword fucking plagued me until I drew it

Woe! Scarfs be upon thee!

I’ll admit that despite there being more Scarfs than most other weapons, these were still really quick and easy to draw. Both for the over all similar shape between them and for the fact that they’re relatively well described (especially compared to the Axes)

i'm quite interesting on your depictions of the axes

Well then have I got a gift for you!

The thing about the axes is that we don’t have their Light World counterparts, so we have to extrapolate them based on their descriptions.

The 2 common theories I’ve seen for their counterparts is toothbrush (Mane Axe + Brave Axe) and electric toothbrush (Auto Axe) or hair brush (Mane Axe), hair comb (Brave Axe), and hair clippers (Auto Axe). As you can see I’ve gone for the latter, however swapping the hair comb out for a pair of scissors, mostly cuz I couldn’t for the life of me make the comb look good as an axe. Trust me, I tried.

And naturally we have even less to go on for the Devilsknife counterpart, and I wanna hold off any personal speculation until Kris gets a Secret Boss Weapon[tm] as a point of reference.

Hi. I’m happy to hear that he liked them!!

Designing the Twisted Sword is interesting because we don’t know its Light World counterpart, which was the basis for all the other sword designs. What we do know is its crafting components: the Pure Crystal and the Thorn Ring. So I used those as inspiration for the design.

#unfortunately we don’t know much abt the pure crystal either other than it likely being a purified shadow crystal #but I think I made it work #unlike the other swords this was based less on any irl swords and more based on what sheets of metal look like when you twist them #cuz that’s the only way I could figure out to make it a ‘spiral’ and still look like a semi-usable sword #utdr #deltarune #deltarune weapons #twisted sword #the dork doodles

I’ve always wanted to draw what I think the various Deltarune weapons look like, and I figure why not start with the swords!

The Twisted Sword - The Axes - The Scarfs - The Rings

#these were made based on the item descriptions as well as the dialogue from attempting to equip them to other characters #(which is why the the wood blade has a giant bite mark shsjsjdjdjdkd)#also each one was based on a different style of sword #the wood blade is a short sword; the spookysword is a long sword; the trefoil is rapier; and both the mecha saber and bounceblade are saber #utdr #deltarune #deltarune weapons #wood blade #spooky sword #trefoil #mecha saber #bounce blade #the dork doodles
