Donald bit his lip, brows furrowed and standing in the burnt smelling kitchen. He had his hands on his hips, feeling a bit lost.

"Donald? What are you doing here? Why does it smell like burnt meat?-" Scrooge walked in, eyes meeting what his nephew was staring at.

A burnt turkey with charred skin and dry burnt meat.

"....What. The. Hell."

Donald turned to Scrooge. "In my defense-" the duck paused when Scrooge raised a sarcastic brow. "...Ok I don't have an excuse."

Scrooge facepalmed, shaking his head. "Good lord, Donald." He dragged his hand down his face, groaning in disappointment. "Alright, go buy a new turkey and I'll take over cooking."

Donald nodded, running off to buy what they needed.

Scrooge tossed the charcoal turkey in the trash, rolling his eyes. But...it was a nice thought. Beakly had fallen ill for New Years, and Donald really wanted to help. His stubborn attitude was determined to do things himself, putting too much on his plate.

It was nice that Donald cared so much.

When Donald came back and hour later, he looked bloody and bruised. "I got it!!"

Scrooge looked a bit flabbergasted. "What the blazes happened to you?!"

Donald shrugged. "Don't worry about it. Just a small brawl."

Scrooge sighed but smiled. "Go clean up, and we'll get dinner started."
