I'm not for definite believing that Neil Gaiman is 100% guilty, nor am I going to believe he is 100% innocent at this point in time. Despite this, I heavily encourage you to listen to the victims, to stay wary, even if he is proven innocent, it's far, far better to be safe than sorry.
I'd rather have suspected somebody of an assault or rape after an allegation comes out and be wrong, than have blindly supported them when it turns out they're actually guilty of an assault or rape. Please, for the love of god, make sure you don't just believe every word this man says, especially if he doesn't provide any actual proof when denying these claims.
He's not some all powerful God.
He's not your best friend.
He's not your boyfriend
He's not your husband.
He's a celebrity.
You don't know him personally.
Do not trust him blindly. That's the single worst mistake you can make when allegations come out. The people coming forward are not evil monsters out to get your favourite author, they're potentially victims of rape and sexual assault, people who've been through absolute hell and deserve to be believed and given support.

if a character means enough to me i will truly never stop thinking about them. i just retire them into a little back room in my brain and periodically bring them out to stare at them under a little light

BG3. Wyllstarion. If anyone is going to be a self-sacrificing bloodbag after the truth is out, I’m nominating Wyll. Let him discover the good hurt.
