I think Saccharine Snowball is a little bit angrier and less sscure in terms of his place in the Capitol. Now they both have violent tendencies, but Saccharine Snowball definitely has more room to let those tendencies out because well he always would have a gun/rifle and it's partly his job to 'preserve peace and order' looool

Seriously though, once she mentions that, any semblance of physical freedom she has is forfeited. She'll be kept under lock and key and never be let outside the home, no phone calls to lawyers (honestly no lawyer would take her case anyway lmao) because hey you can't make divorce lawyer calls or meetups if you can't use the phone and can't step outside 😅😂😭😈

Also, I'd like to think that the Capitol, at this time period at least, generally frowns upon divorces. Uncle Cas is but he doesn't care anyway. I'd like to think that a divorced woman in this time period will likely be subject to horrendous gossip, more discrimination, etc. so life is less kinder to them in this regard. Not like Nellie cares, but Snowball would, and he can't have 'divorced' as a label because he plans to be the President, and thus has to keep his image spotless and live the perfect ideal male life with his wife and children as a happy family.

If Coriolanus couldn’t have found a way to blackmail/threaten nellie into marrying him, how else would he have done it?

Hmmm this is a good question, my dear anon!! I think he would've found out eventually about Uncle Cas's past due to his connection with Dr Gaul, so he would've gone the route of blackmailing Uncle Cas into arranging the marriage. This would be much more difficult though, and he has to make sure his knowledge of the deal Uncle has with the President is impeccable for it to work.

If not that route, then perhaps the classic baby trap!!! Drink out with her, either spike her drinks OR get her really drunk and vulnerable for him so the act could somehow still have consent (read: dubious) and then work his way from there. Uncle MAY BE left with no choice but to reluctantly allow the marriage because there's a child on the way, but again this is a 'maybe' depending on if this happens before or after he's seen through Snowball's actual intentions.

Hello, my dear anon!! He'd likely see it coming from a mile away, unfortunately, due to Nellie's fear of blood in general. What I mean is, not only will she never willingly inflict any physical harm on anyone due to her non-violent nature, she'll also likely hesitate attacking because she knows it could draw blood and she's learned how to avoid drawing it her entire life so far just so she wouldn't see it.
