Ever go Letterboxing? This is Fun!

Would you like a very affordable, fun Fall Adventure for the entire family to do this weekend?? Well then……

Let`s go LetterBoxing!

Ever heard of it? This is an excellent outdoors activity that the entire family can participate in!

Here is how it works; It is about the adventure of finding your way through the woods, and the thrill of reaching your goal & finding the LetterBox. On a letterboxing Adventure, you visit interesting locations and collect unique stamps to mark your visit. Letterboxing involves a plastic container hidden in some specific location out in nature, along with a set of clues as to how to find that container. Inside the container is a stamp and a stamp pad. The visitor uses this stamp to mark his or her visit to this letterbox site into the visitor’s own, personal record book – which you bring with you. Additionally, there is a record book in the letterbox container. The visitor uses his or her own stamp – again, also brought with you – to mark this record book, leaving a record of your visit to this letterbox.

Now that you understand what this fun sort of scavenger treasure hunt as all about, you`ll need a map with clues……. go to the Letterboxing map;http://www.letterboxing.org/BoxByRegion.php?region=Northern+New+Jerseyselect a map and search for clues to find boxes in your city or surrounding area. According to the website, there are over 20,000 letterboxes hidden in North America!!

Back to school! Safety tips for the school bus ride.

So now that the unofficial end to summer is here, school has started! Yes it is sad to see summer go but the joy of children going back to school makes everything just a little bit better.

Now that school is in session here are some tips/facts to keep both you and the children safe.

* School buses use yellow flashing lights to alert motorists that they will be stopping.

* It is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus that is stopped to unload or load children.

* The surrounding ten feet of a school bus is where children are in the most danger to get hit.

* Children are the most unpredictable pedestrians and the hardest to see. 

These are just a few tips to keep you and your children safe this year.
