Christopher Hitchens will always hold a very special place in my heart for giving me the confidence to accept my identity as an atheist and to embrace the notion that God was a creation of Man, not the opposite. He never wavered in the face of ridicule and discontent. He stood firm for what he believed, placing logic and science at the forefront instead of faith and fairytales. May he rest in peace, and may his work continue to influence others to be brave.
