Back in 2017, Titan Comics announced the impending release of a bulky Hook Jaw Archives collection, which today seems rather hard to find, with copies offered on eBay for eye watering amounts: https://downthetubes.net/comic-collections-rarity-hook-jaw/

Hookjaw by the amazing artist Ramon Sola. His art in Action and 2000ad is what made me fall in love with comics. Years later I became friends with him as we both by happy coincidence are Londoners! British comics was revitalised by innovative artists like Ramon Sola, Carlos Ezquerra, Carlos Pino and their other Spanish and Italian contemporaries. It was these foreign artists working in Britain that opened up my World to art, and being an artist. They influenced generations of artists here. We owe so much innovation to so many people from so many different places. ‘Foreign’ places. Don’t listen to our hate mongering small minded politicians. We are citizens of the world. We are all artists. We must welcome people to our shores, people that may enlarge your world in ways you haven’t yet dreamt of. #comics #comicbooks #art #ramonsola #hookjaw #citizensoftheworld #fuckthetories #Fuckthegop #unite #bettertogether

Hookjaw cover rough by my friend Ramon Sola. He drew this at my house about 12-13 years ago as a company were collecting up the old Action Comics ‘HookJaw’ as a trade paper back. The editor then said he didn’t want/need the new cover. Moron. And his collection was awful ( poorly printed and terrible reproduction) so I am relieved Ramon didn’t waste his time. Ramon is an absolutely incredible artist, and one of my heroes. #ramonsola #artoninstagram #art #originalart #comics #comicbooks #hookjaw #jaws #shark #scifi #action #actioncomics #2000ad #judgedredd #patmills
