i like how this follows her prior chain of development where she very early on talked abt like. wishing that she wasn't being Girl Bullied, bc if she was being Boy Bullied they'd just be beating her up, and she could fight back. but as-is she was being psychologically tortured instead and didn't have precedent to swing back. and then she has the whole 2nd lung fight thing where she tells lisa she needs to hit someone + finds catharsis thru getting very violent in that battle. wherein she describes feeling oddly calm/cold during moments where she's interacting with bloody shit, like when she takes lung's eyes out. she's just very fundamentally a person who meshes well with violence. feels more comfortable with violence. dials in and gets cold-angry and confident when she knows there's precedent for her to fucking HURT someone. it's really good. it's just really really good character writing. she's one of the top teenage girl characters of all time i think. taylor hebert is, i think, an autistic girl who's been Girl Bullied for too long and suffers immensely in scenarios where she's bound by social rules as others torment her, but thrives immensely in any scenario where she realizes she has an excuse to break past all those rules and just fucking HURT people. she is good at and comfortable with hurting people (which is awful and self-destructive for her, of course). it's so good
