"Easy for you to say. You don't have a stomach the size of a watermelon, and a uterus that's being kicked in repeatedly." She couldn't help but smile a little at Derek's words to their son, and she began to relax slightly as the movement inside of her calmed even more. "He's stopped," she said with a sigh of relief. "Finally. Thank you." She picked up half of her sandwich and held it out to her husband. "Here. I bet you haven't eaten yet with all of that paperwork."

"He can't understand what I'm saying," she huffed, "and I wouldn't mind him kicking but not when I'm at work." Meredith shifted as Derek placed his hand on her stomach, looking down with a slight grimace. "keep talking, it's working..."

With a sandwich half eaten and a large strawberry milkshake, Meredith had sat waiting for Derek. As he entered, she reciprocated his smile and turned to him. "Mhm, he's going for some kind of record." She appreciated Derek coming to her rescue, seeing as he had a mountain of paperwork, but she was at her wits end. "My voice makes him worse," she complained with a grimace. "Your father's here, so you can quit - OW!"
He's Kicking / Derek & Meredith
Grumbling to himself about the sheer amount of paperwork he was having to do, what with Nelson gone, and still a real lack of neurosurgeons in the department, Derek was beginning to feel as he had when he had been chief. Too much paperwork, and too little time in surgery. It wasn’t a good combination. Derek smiled as he saw Meredith sitting in the cafeteria, and he slid into a chair beside her. ”Is he still kicking?”

Share your fries.

I'm hungry okay?
Jesus Christ. A guy can’t order a burger, fries, onion rings, and a beer without getting silently judged.

That sounds like an exciting week. How's Ella doing?

That week away was well deserved.
These times when I am grateful my father is a wold renowned surgeon. Literally, it’s like he saved someone in every state.

Derek: Meredith, you can't expect me to drop every single thing, every time he kicks.
Meredith: I don't expect you to drop every single thing. Just your paperwork. Please? He's been kicking non stop all morning and I have a surgery in twenty minutes.

"It's inhuman," she commented. "The animal will be locked away for a very long time." She smiled. "I'm fine." She then turned to the two police officers approaching. "Excuse me?!" Meredith couldn't believe what she'd heard. "You have got to be freakin' kidding!" her voice was raised in complete anger and disbelief. It was frankly an outrage. "First you accuse Dr. Karev! Which by the way, was absolutely ridiculous! Now you're bothering this young woman and for what?!" Meredith shook her head in disgust. "You couldn't be further from catching the person responsible, it's pathetic!!" She almost screamed. "Dr. Grey I'm going to have to ask you to take a step back and lower your voice," said the officer nearest to her. "Don't tell me to step back and lower my voice! Not when you're calling this woman a suspect! When there's a violent psychopath running around and you're standing here wasting your time and putting others at risk!" She turned to Scarlett. "I'll talk to Callie about her lawyer uncle who dealt with Alex's situation. Don't worry, they'll soon realize how stupid this all is!" She seethed in the officer's direction.

Innocent till proven Guilty :: Scar&Mer
Scarlett pursed her lips when she heard Meredith’s answer and nodded slowly, before she took a deep breath and let out it out slowly. “I can’t even believe someone would do that." She muttered and swallowed thickly before she turned to Meredith, “And how are you doing with all of this?" She asked, trying to force a small smile on her lips when she felt shadowed by two figures. Scarlett turned with a frown to whomever was blocking the light, and lifted a brow when she saw it was two police officers, “May I help you?" She asked, frowning - she’d only just talked to them.

"You’re Miss Scarlett Maria Price?" One of them asked, and Scarlett stood yo straighter, “Yeah..that’s me..is something wrong?" She asked, turning to them now. “Please come with us, we’d like to take you down to the station for some further investigation." One of them told her, and Scarlett frowned, her gaze flickering sideways to Meredith, confused, “I already did my questioning and I have patients, I can’t leave." She told him with a frown, “Miss Price, you are officially a suspect in the murder of Jim Nelson, and we have warrant to officially arrest you, so please come with us outside the premises of the hospital." Scarlett stared at him for a long moment, before a weak laugh left her lips, “That can’t be right."
