Gone year me and my wife celebrated the 2nd anniversary of our blissful marriage in The Island Jewel of Indian Ocean : SRILANKA!! 🏝️

I was so enthralled by the serene beauty of this little country that I decided to share this fascinating experience with the world, which led me here.. To Tumbler...writing my first blog!!📝

We got our tour package customised through Travel Triangle who I must say did a great job in keeping tab of our needs.

We had an amazing 6 day tour during which we covered 5 cities, but being from a Hindu Brahmin family none was more important than visiting Sita Eliya which we did on our 4th Day!

Yea yeaaa I know....directly jumping to the 4th day of our trip but I have a legit explanation. 😁

We Hindus believe in starting everything good with God's blessings so what better way than starting my blogging journey by writing about one of the holiest places in the world for us !! This sacred place harbours the temple of Daughter of Earth - Godess Sita (Seetha Amman Temple) and foot prints of Lord Hanuman in the premise with a small ravine separating the main temple from the footprints on the rock.

The temple is a classic example of Dravidian Architecture depicting the beautiful South Indian style work!

As stated in the epic Ramayana, Sita Maiya was inprisioned by ten headed demon King Ravana in the Ashoka Van and myth has it that this is the exact place where Lord Hanuman came to meet her when she was held captivated.

It was mesmerizing to witness the epitome of virtuous and pious sentiments! 🙏🏼
