angel looked at the woman. “catelyn right? you’re one of the many new teachers here.” he said to her, it was his job to keep an eye on everyone and to know who they were. “getting sick of the party already?”

“yeah, it’s catelyn. you can call me cate.” she offered, brushing her hair back behind an ear and pursing her lips for a moment. she cast a glance towards the party inside and exhaled, “dreading, more like it. i’m not great in huge groups.”

Ryder had heard his mother had finally arrived at the college, and he was excited to see her - even though it hadn’t been a week since they last saw each other. Ryder was definitely a baby boy when it came to his mother and father. As he crossed into the room he heard the other and frowned a little. “Uh, I was just coming to see you, but uh I can come back if it’s not a good time..” he stated although the disappointment was evident in his voice.

as one of the only reasons she was there, she winced as she realized how short she’d been with him before realizing who was coming through her door, “sorry, honey. I was distracted for a second and didn’t see it was you. you know you’re always welcome.” she paused a moment, then scrunched up her nose, “is everything all right? Do I need to possibly maim someone?”

It was jesse’s luck to have not received the text book list he needed for the start of semester. He headed to the officed to try and pick up a new list. He knew if he didn’t get the books tomorrow- he was likely going to have to buy a copy and he was not really into buying a book he would need for perhaps one chapter. “Hello, sorry I know its not office office hours yet, but I didn’t receive the reading list for the class, and I was wondering if you had one I could have?” he asked softly with a smile.

the question threw her because she wasn’t sure — for one split second — that she’d remembered to send one out, but the look faded as she remembered the syllabus well enough to know she had. rifling through her desk, she pulled a sheet of paper out and slid it across, tilting her head, “Did you not receive it or did you lose it? It’s not a big deal either way, just curious and you can be honest with me.”

Flynn made his way to her office, spotting her sitting uncomfortably in it. “You know there is a party going on down stairs, you might be more comfortable there than here.” 

as one of the only people in the world that cate trusted implicitly, she was glad to see flynn come through her door, “Honestly the thought had occurred to me but I decided to avoid it for as long as possible for fear of hating it and possibly embarrassing our children.”

The dragon witch bit back a smile at the crass response. She wasn’t surprised by it exactly, but expected a warmer welcome. “That depends, got some time for your favorite niece? This campus is full of testosterone and I’m in some desperate need of some girl time.”

her smile softened somewhat as she realized it was luna, motioning for the young dragon to close the door if she wanted, “To be honest? I feel the same way, but at the same time it’s my duty to wade straight into it and make sure they know I’m not afraid... but yes, I always have time for you.”

office hours weren’t exactly her forte, and she’d never really fully taught anyone. studying had become a thing to pass the time when she’d been young and she’d gotten a few degrees in the interim and now using one to be closer to her family seemed the best way to go about it... but every time someone crossed the threshold to her office, she grimaced involuntarily, before saying, “Yes, I’m sorry, can I help you?”

“Yeah, but where’s the fun in that?” came Cate’s reply, brushing her blonde hair back behind an ear and lifting her shoulders in a shrug. the dragon didn’t often go out of her way to talk to anyone outside of office hours or her family, so everything about the encounter was odd, “I just wanted to know if you wanted to head in with me. Solidarity, or something.”

“You know you could have talked to me about this before I already put in the paperwork.” Jeremiah reassured the other with a small grin as he set his pen down and rested his hand on his face as he looked up at the other. “Is it really that important that you just had to tell me about it now?” @whitmore-starters​

she wasn’t exactly one for eavesdropping and if she was asked she hadn’t been eavesdropping, to begin with, but as angel turned to regard her she lofted a brow and immediately — whether it was necessary or not — went on the defensive, her posture shifting slightly, “I doubt it, I was just heading inside and there you were.”

“do not make me repeat myself carlile ––– if you fuck this up, your wife pays the price, we do not need this deal going sideways.” angel spoke into the phone to one of his workers. “just get it done and don’t call me back until everything is sorted out.” the man said before hanging up the phone and sliding it into his pocket angel sighed before standing up straight and fixing his jacket, turning around to walk into the building he was out the front of before seeing someone stand there. “can i help you with something?”

CATELYN JAMESON who looks like KATHERYN WINNICK has been seen in Mystic Falls. their paperwork says the BISEXUAL, DRAGON who is known to be +COMPASSIONATE but also –RESERVED has been alive for 623 years but still looks 39 and that’s why you are going to see them around Whitmore College as a TEACHER (PSYCHOLOGY). and rumour has it they are THE EX/MOTHER OF FLYNN JAMESON'S CHILDREN. 

all about you, who is the player?

I’m L, and this is Cate, and you should love her just because I said so.  I’m 18+ and in EST. I’m not 100% sure what to say. I’m not totally up to date on TVD/TO/Legacies but I’m here to have fun.

how long has your character been in mystic falls?

about a month. She followed her youngest and got a position at the school teaching psychology so she could both be productive and keep an eye on her kids. She’s very family-oriented.

what are you excited about exploring abut your character? what au storylines do you wish to do? and any connections you want for your character?

I’m excited to see how the whole familial relationship between her, her ex and her kids play out. I will end up wanting to explore some kind of romance because I’m 100% that bitch™ and am a sucker for these things but will go for chemistry rather than hamfisted. I also want to see how she deals with just... teaching kids (even if they’re technically more towards adulthood) and trying to get them to understand psychology. Other than that, RPing it up with everyone and trying to make connections.

history of your character? for canons, any details about their life that you are adding in or for ocs, we would like as much detail as possible about your characters!

I’m really bad at bios as a format, but I can tell you she’s been around for over 600 years and she loves her family. I imagine most of her life was spent just being, and she’s very much the typical idea of a dragon in that she hoards things to excess. She’s been in love, she’s been out of love, but as soon as her kids came along she realized there was more to life than keeping little trinkets and just coasting so now she’s come around to the idea of actually being a parent, looking after her children, and making sure that she and her ex have a good relationship so their children thrive. idk I’m sure I’ll think of more!
