(my interpretation of the boi can't talk, so this features him discovering phones can make that happen. also has a fur plucking habit on his tail from anxiety so someone knits him a tail sock to pluck at instead/cover bare patches)

but anyway it's been a while and I've artistically inporved and whatnot

Been ages since I've tried to draw plain old humans XD. But since I've been thinking about how the warners started out as humans in one of my fics before they became toons, I decided to try drawing what the brothers might look like (and alternative outfit fun)

Wip fic snippet for my Animaniacs/httyd au (Ebon Wings, ao3- On Ebon Wings - Chapter 1 - dharak101 - Animaniacs [Archive of Our Own])! Posting it partly because I want to know what ppl think of it. Also, just in case anyone who follows this tag is also following the fic, I want them to know that the fic is being worked on (I'm just taking things a little easier now when it comes to updating compared to the past) Not entirely sure if this segment will be in ch 3 or in ch4. But I already like it a lot. The segment below V

( Wakko squinted down at the infuriated dragon. 

The Night Fury tried to fly once again, awkwardly titled to one side, fell, and created a new trench in the ground. He - Wakko wasn’t entirely sure how he knew that the dragon was male - rolled back upright. Then threw his vast wings wide and roared at the sky. 

The sound was full of raw anger and frustration. Wakko felt as though the sound was reverberating in his bones. 

Frowning, Wakko started to scratch a drawing in the dirt. 

He hadn’t fully processed it the day he’d freed the dragon; but it once again occurred to Wakko that the Night Fury’s attempts to fly seemed stilted and off. 

More than off; it seemed that the dragon couldn’t fly at all. 

Glancing from his drawing to the Night Fury, Wakko realized he’d automatically given him two tail fins…

Probably as the dragon had two fins on his hips. And so it would only follow that there would be two on his tail. Except -

Wakko leaned forward a little as the Night Fury once again tried and failed to fly, this time crashing into the shallows of the cove’s small lake. 

It…kinda looks like he only has one?

Not possessing the same extremely sharp vision as Yakko, Wakko wasn’t entirely sure he was seeing correctly. He leaned even further over the edge, trying to see better -  

Then his hands slipped, and a startled canine bark escaped his throat as Wakko pitched over the edge of the cliff. He tried to grasp the edge and haul himself back up, only for his hands to slip. He proceeded to frantically claw at the vertical side of the cove as he fell, his blunt claws ineffectually scraping the stone. 

Wakko briefly felt relief when he managed to grab a vine growing from between the rocks; only for the vine to snap, and he fell another couple feet before hitting the ground. 

He landed heavily on his back, Wakko’s lungs seizing as the air was violently knocked out of him. He frantically wheezed, trying to regain his breath. 

Luckily, he was both very sturdy and a toon. Two things that afforded him some degree of inherent protection compared to a human. 

He’d squeezed his eyes shut. When he opened them again, Wakko was greeted with the sight of the Night Fury; ears down, slinking closer on careful paws, orange eyes narrowed. 

With a barely audible gasp, Wakko wriggled onto his side and got up on all fours. Then he clumsily tried to back up, tail hovering between his legs. He couldn’t help but slightly bare his teeth. 

The Night Fury slowed, then stopped. He canted his spadelike head to one side. The dragon’s orange eyes stayed narrowed, but Wakko almost felt he was being studied. 

Maybe I am?

Wakko recalled the intelligent glint he’d seen in those eyes before. How the dragons in the Kill Ring had almost looked to be acting in defense. 

Wakko blew a shaky breath. He forced his lips to relax, ceasing to bare his teeth, and very carefully sat down on his haunches. 

Then he carefully watched the dragon. )

-So, yeah. These guy's first proper meeting is going to be a bit different than in the movie.-

I like to think Yakko isn't a fan of very cold places, but he'll take his siblings there if they want to have fun in the snow.

some Yakko! I hc Yakko to essentially be a kitty with weird ears, and I figure that cats would really like him 'cause of it.

So I colored/fixed some things with my sketch and refined it into a actual drawing. And decided I wanted to experiment with giving Max fur on his appendages that matches his face (related to upcoming ch 3 for my fic On Ebon Wings, Ao3, Animaniacs/httyd au)

I kinda hate drawing shoes so I gave up and just gave Max paws XD

Will probly be coloring and refining this.
