Ten seconds ago, bounding up the stairs to drop off his books before heading down to lunch, Harry had existed in a state of blissful tranquility; he just hadn’t known it. Nine seconds ago, he’d opened the door to his eighth year dormitory.

It takes Harry the rest of that time to process the scene in front of him.

The first—most pressing—element is: Draco Malfoy, naked on all fours.

Draco. Malfoy.

Naked.

On all fours.

The second most pressing element is that Malfoy —Draco Malfoy! NAKED! ON ALL FOURS!—is not alone.

And the third most pressing element is Harry’s sudden—almost completely unprecedented—urge to kill Michael Corner.

Everyone freezes. It would be comical, if not for Harry’s urgent need to break something, preferably Michael Corner’s skull. Malfoy stops, his mouth still filled with Michael’s (unimpressive, if anyone wants to ask Harry) dick. Michael (fucking bastard) stops thrusting, staring horrified at Harry, open-mouthed and gormless like some sort of unevolved, stupid, ugly creature from the bottom of the fucking ocean, his own dark hair messy and his stupid hands frozen in Malfoy’s blonde strands.

Harry knows he should walk out, shut the door, maybe get Hermione to mildly obliviate him—he knows it’s weird to just stand here, looking. He should leave. He should fucking leave. But he can’t move a single muscle in his body.

Malfoy is the first one to de-petrify. Pulling off with a wet pop that goes straight to Harry’s cock, he sits back on his haunches. Harry only manages not to stare directly at his prick through sheer force of will, because there’s no way in hell he’s giving Malfoy the satisfaction.

“Potter, what the actual fuck is wrong with you?”

“Me?!” Harry’s suddenly able to speak, to move, to breathe again. “What the fuck’s wrong with you?”

“This is my dorm too!” Draco fires back, grey eyes flashing, hackles up. Not the only thing up. “What, just because you’re some sort of sexless freak—”

“I’m going to go,” Michael (piece of shit) says, hurriedly zipping up his trousers.

“You have no idea about my sex life!” Harry bellows; Malfoy is spot on. “Just because I’m not giving midday blowjobs to wankers like—”

“Bye,” Michael mutters to no-one in particular, hurrying out the door, shirt still undone.

“Oh, you’d know all about wankers, wouldn’t you!” Now Malfoy is up off the bed, seething, moving about the room angrily in search of his clothes, and Harry can’t help it—his dick is just there, out in the open, jutting into the air and drawing his eye like a fucking beacon. He stares helplessly at it. And then at Malfoy’s bare arse as he bends over his trunk.

“Yeah,” he says, unthinking. Malfoy pauses, shirt clenched in his hand as he straightens up and turns to look squarely at Harry.

They stare at each other, Harry’s heart racing. Slowly Malfoy begins to smile.

“Oh.” His voice is quieter now, smile pulling into a smirk. “I see.”

On a fateful day in sixth year, Harry follows Ron and Hermione into the hazy, vapour-filled dungeons for their class with Slughorn. Breathing in woody, floral fumes, he opens up an old annotated copy of Advanced Potion-Making for the first time.

That year, he kisses Ginny Weasley for the first time, too.

He also slices Draco Malfoy open in a bathroom.

Ten years later, he finishes up at his desk on a Friday evening, chucks the latest case notes into his bag, and wanders down to the D.M.L.E. potion lab. Technically, at this hour, there should be no-one here, but he's not surprised to find a pale blonde head bent over a row of steaming cauldrons.

"Shouldn't you be home by now?" He drops his bag on the floor, hoisting himself up onto the benchtop.

"Funny." Malfoy doesn't take his eyes off his task, peering at the dark, pearly liquid. It looks vaguely familiar. “Shouldn’t you?”

"Not like it matters," Harry says, gaze catching on the damp curls at Malfoy's nape. "Nothing to go home to except more case notes."

"Oh, the life of the Chosen One. Scintillating as ever." Malfoy stirs the middle potion clockwise, then counter-clockwise. "I'll be sure to write to the Prophet tomorrow, first thing."

Harry snorts, and Malfoy grins, wiping his brow with his sleeve. He begins stirring the potion closest to Harry, counting under his breath. Spirals of steam twist languidly in the air as a comfortable silence settles in. Harry breathes in deep, slow, recognising the warm, clean scent of Malfoy’s cologne. He’s sure he could pick out Malfoy blindfolded now, after five years of working together in close quarters.

"I should go home and use my own lab," Malfoy murmurs, brushing his hair out of his face again. "The temperature control charms here are shit. I'm sweating my fucking balls off right now."

Harry can't be blamed for what he says next; he's trying very hard not to think about Malfoy's balls.

"Well, you smell nice, at least."

Malfoy looks at him sharply, a strange look on his face. "What?"

Harry feels a heat creep up his neck that has nothing to do with humidity. "Er, your cologne. It's nice."

Malfoy carefully places the ladle down on the benchtop. "I'm not wearing cologne today."

"Oh." Harry breathes in, helplessly, wishing he would shut up even as he keeps talking. "It smells like your cologne in here." Too late, he remembers where he recognises the pearly sheen of the potion from. Sixth year. Slughorn. "Ohhhh, shit. Is that—"

"Amortentia," Malfoy breathes, crowding in between Harry's knees, and then—he's kissing Harry, kissing him hard, tugging at his hair, shoving a hand up his t-shirt. Shock, hunger, hot and electric, shoot up Harry's entire body and he pulls Malfoy hard against him, desperate. Malfoy's tongue is in his mouth. Harry wants to climb inside him.

Finally Malfoy pulls back, breathing hard. "It smells like me? Really?"

"Yes," Harry groans, chasing after him. "Yeah, this whole fucking—" Harry gasps, clutching Malfoy closer as he sucks at the skin below Harry's ear, "—room smells like you. Oh God. Fuck, fuck, don't stop—"

Draco doesn't.

HP Ace Aro Fest - 2025

It is official, we are back for the second year running! Our amazing fest was created to highlight any character who you see as asexual, aromantic, or anywhere on those spectrums.  Any era, any age, anyone.  Give me your QPRs, your sex-repulsed lovey-doveys, your hypersexual aromantics, and everything else you got.  As long as you give me a main character from the HP fandom who is a-spec, your work has a home with this fest.  Accepting fic, fanart, podfics, any medium your heart desires to give us.

Work must be exclusive to this fest

Digital and physical art are both allowed as long as scans/photos of the physical are clear

Podfic work

Please provide proof of permission from the creator (unless it is yourself) which includes a screenshot of a blanket permission statement on their profile as long as the username matches 

Selected work must fit the theme of the fest as well as the 500 word minimum for written fics

Make sure you upload it with the author’s original tags as well as the fest tags and podfic notation

All works must be uploaded to the AO3 collection by the deadline of July 30 (around 1 week before posting  pending any extensions granted)
