My list of Zutara recs for @all-manic-no-disco got really long (to nobody's surprise but my own, probably) so here's a whole post with them. Most are post-canon like @senlinyuwrites's “The Sun, the Moon, and the Truth."

A few days after the Agni Kai, Katara finds Zuko in the turtleduck gardens, but she's not sure he's recovered enough to be completely lucid. Especially when she overhears him talking about her-and especially when he smiles so brightly she might melt.

Katara's ambition, so long set aside for the good of others, breaks free and sets fire to her soul. Or, Katara has a vision of her canon future, casts it aside, and becomes a world-changing politician instead.

Zuko falls asleep on the evening of his official coronation, when he’s twenty-one-years old and has finally reached his majority. Zuko wakes on the morning of the Agni Kai with his father, eight years earlier.

This is annoying for several reasons, like the fact that the War is still ongoing, that he has zero friends, and that Ozai is not in jail. It’s time to scheme.

The beauty in how Zuko and Katara's goals clash throughout the story

Katara trying to protect the avatar in order for him to put an end to the war and bring balance to the world

while Zuko is trying to capture him in order to restore his honor and get his father's love and approval

Both seeing Aang as a symbol of hope but in completely different ways

THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER

Most Zutara in SuperHeros settings AUs is usually spiderman or ladybug, so I tried to do them in DC aka with DickKory (Nightwing/1stRobin x Starfire) from TeenTitans or Titans.

But I couldn't figure out which version I liked more, so I decided to do both))

I really struggled with Katara's second design..

Like, I really wanted to do second designs in their Book 3 outfits, so I tried Katara being a full warrior of the South Water Tribe! I decided to do her in Sokka's design in Book 1 episode 2 (when Zuko came to them) (and I really liked this warrior makeup), but still keep her in her Book 3 outfit. In the end I didn't like it, so I tried to put her in traditional Inuit bone armour with some shoulder pieces from live action. I like this more, but I'm still not fully satisfied...

Book 2 au: travel companion

I've been thinking about how they'd first meet each other in this au and how they end up travelling together. But like this isn't really the first encounter and their first interaction lol more like something that takes place a little bit after. I think the first interaction would be a bit more hostile. Katara just ends up trailing after Zuko after they first meet and they just end up going together somehow
