Saturdays/Sábados
Ahh Saturdays. Saturdays for me have become a day either filled with a lot of travel and excitement, or just a nice day to relax and enjoy the Spanish culture. As much as I love being here in Spain, I don’t think I will ever get used to how life is here.
When we were talking about culture shock before I left home, I wouldve never thought it was going to be a real thing like I experienced. Even in a civilized European country the culture is so much different than what I am used to. I love the relaxed mentally of the Spanish, and the nonchalant attitude everyone has. However, if you know me personally, then you know that I am a very type A person, and like to be early for everything, and like to have everything done on time. It was one of the biggest things to get over when I got here. At home when classes started at 9, then you were there by 8:55 at the latest (or at least I was), but here when classes start at “9″ they actually mean 9:15. The first day coming to class was such a different and unique experience for me. I was there the my normal 10 minutes early, and I was the only one there for, what seemed like at the time, forever. Eventually classed started, and I quickly adjusted to this new lifestyle, however there is a small part of me, in which wants to be there super early and be prepared.
Life abroad is certainly not what I was fully expecting, but so far is has been one of the best decisions of my life. When I think about the fact that there are only 8 weeks left, I feel a mix of emotions. I am super excited to see my family and friends back home, but I don’t really wanna leave this super tranquil place.
I have loved this experience so far, and I seriously encourage anyone who is even thinking about studying abroad…….DO IT! If you can possibly manage it, it will seriously change your entire outlook on life. There are loads of scholarships and programs to help any student realize a trip abroad.
Don’t stop dreaming!

Love your dream!!! And live it!!!
Feeling 22
It has been an entire month since I celebrated my 22nd birthday here in Spain. It feels just like it was yesterday! The phrase “time flies when you’re having fun” has never been more true for me. I don’t want this trip to end! Thankfully I have 3 months left to enjoy this amazing country, and everything it has to offer!! And who knows, I may move back after I graduate college!
My advice for someone who wants to live abroad, or just move away from home: DO IT! Seriously, this has been one of the best experiences of my life, and I wish everyone had the chance to live their dream (even if it is just for a small amount of time)!
One more thing: live your life to the fullest, and don’t let anyone bring you down! You are awesome just the way you are!

Galatians 1:10 (ESV) For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
