One of the biggest This Is Bullshit things in education is giving teachers a week to get their rooms together and plan for the first few days while also making them attend so many freakin meetings and shit, leaving little time for organizing and planning.
#just hella annoyed#this shit is worse when you move classrooms#lol on top of teaching a new subject for the first time like me#I mean if you’re a veteran teacher you might have this stuff down compared to newer ones#anyways I gotta go to the schoolhouse on a Saturday afternoon

At the 2011 Theatre World Awards, I had the opportunity to see Ernestine Jackson perform “If I Were a Bell” in the same arrangement used in the 1976 ‘Guys and Dolls’ revival. Her unbridled enthusiasm and joy triggered spontaneous applause from the audience well before she finished singing.

“The tender scene in which Babe recites a poem that Longfellow Deeds wrote for her was almost deleted because Frank Capra thought it was too sappy. Jean Arthur had been working very hard on that scene and convinced Capra to at least film it, which he did. The bit of Deeds tripping over the garbage cans was added to provide comic relief to break the sentimental mood.” Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936) dir. Frank Capra
