I’m really tired of seeing fredtin on my fuckin dash like c’mon, do i really have to explain why this ship is fucking horrifying? do i REALLY have to go out of my way to explain to you that you shouldn’t ship this ?? like, there’s legitimate reasons and no it’s not bc the fandom sees quentin as a teenager, he’s 21, that’s NOT the issue. 

the issue is freddy is a rapist, pedophile, and abuser. and quentin is his victim, shipping them and normalizing this sends a horrible message, QUENTIN IS A VICTIM OF CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT AND FREDDY IS HIS ABUSER. YOU SHOULDN’T SHIP AN ABUSER WITH THEIR VICTIM IN ANY SCENARIO.  and it’s doubly disgusting to write smut about them, or write their interactions as friendly and loving, there is no love between them. freddy abused him, as a child. 

“fiction doesn’t impact reality though!” yeah it fucking does, it does impact reality, if something as mundane as the simpsons could impact reality, something as serious as anoes could as well. if you didn’t know someone literally genetically engineered a plant directly from the simpsons meaning it’s tangible evidence of fiction impacting reality. 

oh hey look a compiled list of how fiction impacts reality wild how there’s so many articles backing this up huh it’s almost like fiction impacts reality so when you ship two fictional characters that have a relationship with pedophelic & abusive ideals it’s almost like it’s normalizing these and thus making people think it’s okay wow this is fucking wild.

bottom line is if you ship fredtin, block me, i don’t want to see it, i don’t want to hear about it, i know it’s bad and if you don’t see why it’s bad you should take another look into the movie and the context. 

the issue isn’t “quentin is a teenager.” the issue is “freddy is a pedophile and abused quentin as a child along with his friends, killed his friends, and tried killing him”
