Are we really paywalling lookbook links now?

For those of you who have been following along with my zodiac series you'll know the initial inspiration was 1920s/30s vintage fantasy based on the artwork of Erté. In all honesty, I haven't really been enjoying putting these lookbooks together for a while now. Anytime I sat down to put one together it felt more like work rather than the creative outlet my content usually is. It wasn't until I recently put my Enchanted by Nature inspired lookbook together that I realised I really enjoy indulging my love for high fantasy, so I've decided to change direction for the zodiac series. I'll leave the existing lookbooks for Aries, Taurus and Gemini up, and I'll circle back to them once we reach those months again. I hope you guys don't mind the change and that you enjoy the new lookbooks going forward. Now onto today's....

The new zodiac series is heavily inspired by DnD, so I thought it would be fun to assign each sign to a class. Since Cancers are known for their caring, motherly manner it seemed fitting that they would make for an empathetic and sensitive Cleric.

MylittleponyOh Starter Pack - The Sims 4 Version (Plot twist, it's not AI generated !)

You have probably seen this AI Prompt going crazy lately, and I loved the idea behind it, BUT, as a 3D artist, if I had time, I would definitely make it myself rather than generate it with AI. I don't have the time BUT, I have the Sims 4 and you do too ! So, I've created a PSD file with layers so if you also want to do your Simself Starter Pack version and don't want to use AI you can ! I love how not using AI pushed me to be creative ! All the textures have been hand drawn in Gimp ! How to do it ?

In game, take pictures of your simself with or without poses (I used one tehehe), and objects that represent yourself. Preferably a front view !

Supress the background of the in game pictures (I used this one online).

Get all the layers + your simself + objects in a 2D Editing Software (I mostly use Gimp and Canva) and place it as you like ! (I have created a blank layer just so you know where to place your different pictures !)

Add drop shadows to your pictures so it constrats with the background !

Add your own text ! (I did mine on Canva).

Thanks for calling attention to this. Sometimes I really wonder about the content some creators lock behind a paywall.

u know one thing that kind of irritates me about the ts4 community is how many people will buy or rip meshes from other games, not optimize them in the slightest, then sell them on patreon for real money. this one patreon exclusive mesh is a Teeny Tiny bottle. how many polygons is it?

OVER 8000 POLYGONS. FOR THIS TINY BOTTLE. IT'S RIDICULOUS. if u place multiple of these needlessly high poly deco items, do u have any idea how much thats going to strain your pc??? potentially destroy your graphics card???

it'd be pretty whatever if this wasn't exclusive to Patreons Only. how are you charging people for something when you can't even optimize it for the game?? it's so easy all you do is add the decimate effect to lower the poly count. you can easily lower it from this insane amount without reducing the quality.

not only that, but they didn't even bother with the lower detail LODs, which is the model that's used when you zoom out. so, if you zoom out, rendering potentially hundreds of objects at a time, you are going to be rendering hundreds of thousands of polygons that do NOT need to be there. no wonder my game ran so poorly when i used exclusively alpha cc.

the filesize itself is also over 5mb. which is ridiculous for what it is.

it is simply insane to me how many creators will charge money and put in the bare minimum. they didn't properly color tag it or anything, either. literally just imported the mesh and nothing else. i've seen people do the same thing with hair. earlier i saw this curly hair that was tagged as straight, and every color was tagged as a bunch of random colors. like come on. it's so easy to fix that.

there is a predatory practice of people coming into the community who don't even play the game but just are here to profit off of people by buying and reselling other people's work. on one hand, it is pretty easy to get some extra money from doing this and nobody is making anybody buy anything, so part of me respects the ability to seize an opportunity. but on the other hand, it's disturbing how little effort people put into things yet still get so much money in return. it's also disturbing how this sort of thing loses any sort of passion and just becomes a way to generate money.
