Dream, Ink, and Delta vs. Nightmare, Error, and Cross
Dream would pull his claymore over his shoulder, as his cape blew aside, for draumatic effect. “BROTHER! YOU SHALL NOW MEET YOUR END!” He declared, rather full of himself. Ink depressingly drew his brush, as Delta raised his fists.
Nightmare of course, had just been walking between AUs with Error and Cross. Well they were actually inspecting a JR territory to raid, but that’s besides the point. Nightmare would turn to face his brother. “Actually- I was just leaving s-” He tried to walk away, as Cross blocked him with his sword. “no.” He said, as he pointed his sword at Delta, gritting his teeth. “Oh for Chri-” Before Nightmare could finish, Cross warped over, slashing at Delta. “GODDAMMIT CROSS-” Nightmare yelled. Error shrugged, as he whipped his strings at Ink, snatching him by the ankle, and throwing him into a nearby tree. That left Nightmare and Dream. “uh- alright, this is what we’re doing then.” Nightmare said, as he reached into his scabbard, grabbing his rapier. He and Dream clashed blades, as Delta tried to block Cross’s weapon.
“How Pathetic, Glasses!” Ink spat, as he kicked Error into a wall. “You’ve only landed 6 hits this whole fight!” He said. “AND YOU LANDED *FIVE*!” Error yelled angrily, as his eyes filled up with ERRORs. Ink smirked. “Five Significant hits, of cours-” before the snooty asshole could finish gloating, Error warped over, giving him a five star to the face. “Yea, that makes seven, jackass.” Error said, as he raised his fist. Ink growled, as he flicked paint at his glitched adversary. Error raised a bone wall, blocking the paint splash. He kicked it, sending it careening at Ink. Ink punched through it, albeit stumbling a bit from the force. Error snatched him by the legs with his strings, tying him up entirely. Error tied him to a tree. “Don’t be afraid to HANG around for awhile, Ink.” Error said, as he gave him a small salute, running off to help Nightmare and Cross. Ink cussed a few times, but could do nothing but squirm around.
Cross continued madly slicing at Delta, as he evaded the attacks. Delta kicked his hands, knocking the blade away. He slammed his fist into Cross’s chest, blasting him back. “What’s the matter, C? Feelin’ a little shifty?” Delta asked, a smirk clear on his face. “I’ll fucking murder you..” Cross spat, as he wiped blood off his mouth. “Awh, did I strike a nerve? This can’t have anything to do about that specific Character, can it? You CAN’T possibly still be mad about THAT.” Delta said, the smirk clear on his face. Cross yelled in rage, as he fired a blaster at Delta. Delta moved to the side, evading the blast. Cross leapt at him, summoning a smaller knife. He tried to stab at Delta, only for him to knock the knife away. Delta and Cross both threw punches, resulting in an explosion, which made both slid back. Delta smirked. Cross grit his teeth once more. The two ran at each other, as they continued to fight.
Dream slashed at Nightmare, as Nightmare evaded it, stepping on his claymore, disarming him. He slashed several times with his rapier, as Dream evaded them. His claymore returned to his hand. The two clashed blades, as they pushed against each other. Dream leveraged his weight, beginning to shove Nightmare down. Nightmare slid back, causing Dream to stumble. Dream regained his footing. Nightmare changed his rapier into a crossbow, firing a few bolts. Dream blocked two, as a third struck his shoulder. Dream grunted. Dream changed his claymore into a bow. The two traded shots, and evaded for awhile. Nightmare rushed at Dream, as he fired three bolts. Dream dodged two, and fired another arrow. The two projectiles collided, cancelling out. Nightmare tackled his brother, as he delivered two bolts into his head. Dream slammed his fists up, blasting Nightmare into the air. Dream leapt up, slamming his fists down, blasting Nightmare to the ground. Dream slammed his foot into his skull, as Nightmare grunted in pain. Dream smirked down at him. Suddenly, Error ran in, as his foot slammed into Dream’s back. Dream grunted, turning. As a glitched blaster appeared. Dream punched the blaster away, grabbing it and tearing it in half. He kicked Error back, as he slammed through a building, as it collapsed onto him. Dream grunted, as he brushed some dust off his shoulder. He turned to Ink, who was still hanging on a nearby tree, smiling sheepishly. Dream rolled his eyes, as he fired an arrow at the strings, cutting through them, as Ink hit the ground. Ink hopped up, grabbing his brush. Dream turned to Nightmare, as he stumbled back. Delta slammed his foot into Cross’s chest, as purple blood flew out of his mouth. Delta ddid a spin kick, sending Cross spiraling away.
Error, Nightmare, and Cross stumbled up. Nightmare turned to Cross, an annoyed look clear on his face. Cross smiled sheepishly, as they turned to their three adversaries. Nightmare shrugged, as a two portals appeared below Error and Nightmare, teleporting them. Cross lunged at Delta, only for strings to snap out of his portal, dragging him in.
Dream angrily stamped his foot, but then noticed the strings were purple, as a sinister smile crept across his lips. (Or lackthereof...)

Cross’s Story, but The Sequel
So basically, Crossy boi freed SS Chara and SS Asriel. Now, SS Chara was helping people in The Anti-void. But SS Asriel can do jack all, because his legs were basically annihilated by Delta. Since Asriel’s Not an Anime Protagonist, His Legs don’t just heal automatically. Anyway, Cross visited them often, and Asriel began to call him “Mr. Cross.” Just to be respectful, because, floofy boi. Cross felt pretty bad for floofy boi, but Asriel saw Cross as a role model, because, he saw what a badass he was when fighting Delta. Also because he saved them twice. SS Chara was just happy to not be stuck being abused by Delta. Anyway, One Day, Cross was sneaking over to Dream’s Side. Nightmare wanted to see what Dream’s plan was to do next. So Crossy boi slid in, and heard Blue and Delta talking. “Ey, So then when the brat started crying, I just punched her in the chest, har har.” Delta said, as Blue chuckled. Cross was barely able to stop himself from beating up Delta. Anyway, he heard Delta mention two people, both rather similar to SS Toriel and Asgore. Supposedly, they had been enslaved to work in the mines of Dusttale. Delta and Blue revealed no more information, so Cross left, since he knew Dream would probably start sensing his negativity. So he disappeared.
He told Nightmare the mission was a failure, so Nightmare figured they could just build up their forces. Anyway, Cross went to The Omega Timeline and Told SS Chara and SS Asriel that Goatmom and Goatdad were alive. Now, this was a huge surprise. They thought Toriel and Asgore were dead. The Three of them decide to go to The Mines of Dusttale to find them. SS Chara and Asriel blended in more, and were less wanted, so they took some uniforms from two of the prisoners, and let them escape. They snuck in, and decided to track down where Tori and Asgore might be so they can free them. Asriel took the schematics off one of the guards, and later on, during curfew, he took them out and checked where Toriels and Asgores would be. They fond it, and went down, looking desperately. They found the door which said “SS Toriel and Asgore.” Quickly, they ran inside, only to find Delta, sitting on a mat, Meditating. Suddenly, bones blocked the exit. Delta stood, smirking. He explained that he has the ability to sense SOULs, and he could sense Cross’s the whole time. So he intentionally gave out misinformation, in order to bring them there. Then The Guards walked in, with an unconscious Cross. Delta cackled maniacally at his own brilliance. When Cross woke up, he found out they were in a ship, which was traveling to The JR’s Capital. The were stuck in a cell, among many that were to be transported to the main prison. Delta was captaining the ship. SS Chara hid in the corner, crying in fear, as Delta mockingly reached through the bars at them. Cross angrily tried to attack him, only to be slammed into the wall with telekinesis. Cross tried to use magic, only for Delta to explain the cells had magic nullifiers, so Cross couldn’t do anything. They were completely stuck.
SS Chara just rolled up into a ball and began to cry, and Cross mumbled about how it was all his fault. But luckily, there was one fluffy boi who would not let them fall into despair...

Storyshift Chara’s Story
Now, I assume you all read Cross’s story.
If not, I would like you to kindly scroll down one message and read it.
Done? Feeling bad for poor SS Chara and Fluffy boi SS Asriel?
Well to bad, it only gets worse.
Moving On,
Stoyshift Chara of course was a nice person, as taught by Toriel, their mother. They tried to care for their brother, and were happy upon meeting Cross. However, their happiness was cut short. The soldiers who apprehended brought them before Lord Dream. And yes, that is going to end horribly. Upon hearing that Cross escaped, and would probably join Nightmare’s Negativity Resistance, Dream absolutely blew his top. Literally.
The Uh, Castle took a while to be repaired.
Anyway, Dream quickly calmed down, knowing he had to stay composed. Since Cross wasn’t there for Dream to take his anger out on, uh.
Fill in the blanks.
Dream beat Asriel and Chara to the ground, then wasn’t sure what to do next. Then, a dark idea came to him. He ordered Delta to his throne room. He offered the two up to Delta. He said Delta could do whatever he want with the two.
And as you guess, Delta wasn’t the most merciful type.
He took full advantage, and made Asriel his personal servant, who would clean his area, make his bed, and do whatever he wants. He made Chara do other things, and when he was in ‘that mood?’
Well I’d just like to remind you all Delta’s a bit of a scumbag.
So while Asriel stayed hopeful, and never saw the things Delta did to his sibiling, Chara’s Mental State got terrible. They got slower when it came to their work, despite Delta’s beatings. however, happily enough, Cross DID come back.
Delta was sent on an away mission that would last months, so he brought SS Asriel and Chara. Cross saw them being shoved along, and leapt into action. He  slaughtered the guards without mercy, and saw the weakened and pitiful SS Chara and SS Asriel. It pissed him off beyond belief, so he finally unlocked the power of OVERWRITE, using it to gain an advantage over Delta, freeing SS Chara and Asriel. Chara sprinted away fearfully, but Asriel picked up one of the swords of the fallen soldiers. He rushed at Delta. Delta turned, as he punched Cross away. Asriel raised his sword, only to be kicked in the side, as a sickening crunch was heard. Delta swept his feet out from under him, and slammed his leg down onto his knees, breaking both legs. He raised his arm, summoning a blaster. Suddenly, Cross flew back, knocking Delta over, and eventually winning the fight. Cross put Asriel onto his back, and escaped with him and Chara.
SS Chara was extremely happy to be saved, but they were still hurt from what had been done to them. They lived in The Omega Timeline for a long time, helping people in it. They also felt horrible for their brother, who’s legs were broken. They tried to help Nightmare’s Negativity Resistance the best they could.

Cross’s Story
Crossy boi, Who is now In Ink’s role.
Basically, Unlike Dreamswap Cross, Instead his backstory is altered entirely. Instead, X-Gaster makes the best timeline possible at one time, then just lets it be. Since here, his empathy won over his wonders of a better AU. Also Ink wasn’t like: “hey you should make a PERFACT au!!1″ so they were mostly fine. Cross was a small boi who was friends with Chara, a member of the royal family. He also was somewhat overprotective of his brother, Papyrus.
Chara and him were rather good friends throughout their childhood. They eventually began to split apart, since as Chara got older, they had more duties to the kingdom. So they couldn’t spend as much time together, which generally made both of them rather sad.
Now, Cross generally has a hard attachment to people he cares about. Which is his biggest weakness while also being his greatest strength. X-Gaster raised him well, since here, he’s actually a good father. Despite being well, a single papa. Because he isn’t going to make a wife with Overwrite, that’d be fuckin weird lol.
Anyway, Humans began to get more and more jaded with monsters. X-Gaster didn’t really want to screw with the timeline, so he tried to avoid using Overwrite and such. Eventually, multiple assassins almost killed X-Chara, because, royal family. So now, since they were Cross’s friend, even though Cross was only like 12 at this point, he decided to try and join the royal guard.
His brother was stronger over all, and more durable. But Cross’s ATK got higher eventually, and he was a lot more speedy. Cross trained twice as much as his brother, surprisingly. Papyrus was arguably more gifted, but Sans was a lot more determined in this case. Eventually, he was promoted to a royal guard position. Chara requested him as their personal guard, which was rather good for him. Then, Ink came like “hey guize, whats goin onnn.” Because he was now friends with X-Gaster. Cross and Ink became pretty good friends, and eventually, Cross became rather exhausted with his job. He kept going on it though, and eventually, your angel boy Dream came.
Then Cross left his whole AU behind, which, was a fuckin’ massive mistake.
Ink, of course, thought since Cross was fine with leaving it, it meant free code for him to get his own AU. So Ink destroyed almost all of X-Tale after Nightmare came to it, and took the code. Only X-Gaster was able to escape. Cross heard about this, and was pretty fucking pissed off. He was still a bit to afraid to leave The JR, and decided to stay until a certain event.
So, Cross was in Storyshift, which had been taken over by Dream. He then noticed an alleyway. There was Storyshift Chara and Asriel. Chara was a young adult whilst Azzy was still a teenager. Some of Dream’s Soldiers walked by, and demanded taxes.
Now, Storyshift Asgore and Toriel had been killed trying to defend their AU, so Chara and Asriel had almost no money, so they couldn’t pay taxes. The Soldiers figured this was fine, and said that since Chara was The Older Sibiling, they could give up Asriel to be a soldier for Them, which would pay for a year’s worth of taxes. Chara of course refused this offer. So then, these sleezy soldiers said they could pay them in a, uh... different method.
So this was crossing (ha ha pun) the line, so Cross killed the soldiers. He decided to help Chara and Asriel out, so he brought them to the border. It was normally for entrance only. The three tried to leave, but some soldiers caught them. Cross was the only one who escaped, and he promised to come back for them. So Cross was extremely pissed, and decided to join with Mr. Nightmare’s little resistance.
So now Cross is on Nightmare’s side.

Resistor/Carrot’s Story
Ah Yes, Swap Papyrus. Our Abusive Brother. Now This Papyrus was never a nice person. He always liked exercising his power over others. He had a lot, after all. Unlike his original version, who was raised to always forgive, he was raised to always beat. Always be on top. Always be The Abuser, Not The Abused.
Cue his brother, Crossbones. As you can guess, they weren’t the best friends. Papyrus openly psychologically abused his brother. Along with physical abuse. He didn’t care when Sans came home and told him about what Alphys had did to him. Credit to Paps though, Paps couldn’t hold in his pity forever, and eventually gave Sans some help. But as you can guess, help from a guy like him wasn’t enough.
Eventually, as their timeline was slowly destroyed, Papyrus fled. Escaping from it. As he stood as an edge, some of the rocks gave way, dropping him. He grasped the edge, struggling to hoist himself up. It felt like The Virus was yanking him down. His brother, Blue ran in. He yelled joyously. “THANK GOODNESS YOU’RE HERE, BROTHER.” He insisted, hoping Sans would pull him up.
Sans however, wasn’t in quite the forgiving mood.
He hurled Papyrus off, and as Papyrus fell, Anger flared in his eyes. He grasped part of it as he fell, as his fingers ground into it. He climbed up The Chunk of rock, the last remaining land. Angry that his brother had betrayed him. He got to the top, but no brother, and no escape.
He angrily yelled. He refused death itself. He would not die. He would not allow The Cold Embrace of death to grasp him. He continued to fight against it, as he refused death itself.
Death, or The Virus rather, coiled around him. But it could not enter or devour him. He was Resilient. The Virus eventually formed inside of him. He sat there, and entered a sleep.
Months, or even years later he awoke. Immediately, He tore a hole open in reality, entering a New AU. He realized something. He remembered his brother. What his brother had done to him. He declared an objective, his only objective.
He would kill his brother.
He would kill this entire AU, and many more to get the required LV to do the job. When he got enough.
His Job would be done.

Crossbones/Blue’s story.
Ah yes Blue. Your Vintage Sociopathic Motherfucker.
Well, essentially, his backstory is very similar to Dreamswap Blue’s. He was a simple royal guardsman, however Alphys was rather abusive towards him. Along with his Older Brother, Papyrus. The Only Person who was ever really kind to him in his youth was his guardian, The River Person. But they disappeared when he was about 5. Leaving him with his abusive Older Brother.
Eventually, Alphys cornered and Sexually Abused Sans. This event happened multiple times, as Alphys was exercising her power over Sans. Sans couldn’t do much to stop her, she thought. However, She underestimated him. Eventually, Sans had enough of being her simple underling and attacked Alphys in a rage. He killed Alphys afterwards, however, this caused a corruption in the timeline, which was The virus that is in Dreamswap.
Blue of course ran as far away from it as he could. Eventually, he reached the final island, where he encountered Papyrus. Papyrus was hanging on, insisting Sans help him up. Sans smirked, as he stabbed two bones into his hands.
“Karma Catches up to all of us,” He said, as he threw Papyrus off the side. He staggered back, unsure of what exactly to do about the situation he was in. Suddenly, a portal appeared below him, teleporting him into The Anti-void.
There, he waited.
And waited.
And yet waited longer. He waited for an eternity it seemed like. Eventually, his very body tore itself apart to leave. But he didn’t let it. He eventually gained the power to leave, and escaped from his prison. Unluckily, he found Error. Some random Sans with a bone to pick. Blue found the perfect puppet. He decided to give him some power. Blue kidnapped him, and brought him to The Anti-void. He then hooked up some of The anti-void into him, injecting it. Glitching him out, and turning him into Error.
Error had a case of Amnesia, So Blue could simply manipulate and torture him as he wished. It was a utopia for him! He eventually lured Error into an abusive and sick relationship. Blue insisted he was being helpful, and “protecting,” Error. Where as in reality, he was simply beating and psychologically tearing him apart.
((Poor Error D:))
However, Error eventually got a decent chunk of his memories back, and he was done with being Blue’s toy. So he fought back, similar to how Blue had fought back against Alphys. Blue was shocked by his power and ferocity, and barely escaped with his life. He hid out in SwapFell, until Dream came. Dream offered him the solution. To make a perfect world. He promised he’d give Blue a whole AU of puppets to manipulate and play with.
This was a deal he couldn’t refuse. So Blue joined with Dream, and decided he would inevitably destroy Nightmare and his allies. He aimed to beat Error to his last breath, and then mock and kill him.

Error’s story
Basically, Error was just kind of a normal Sans from an Unknown AU who had a bit of a bone to pick. So when he was randomly bestowed Extreme amounts of power and amnesia, you can guess it didn’t go well.
Now who gave him these powers?
Your Vintage Dickish Sociopath Crossbones, Of course!
Blue then abused Error Psychologically until Error struck back against him, and the two got into a fight. Blue had assumed he could kick Error around effortlessly, but much to his surprise, Error was more than a match for him. Blue fled, as Error left the AU they were in.
Error essentially went around causing Havoc ‘n shit. He eventually encountered Ink, who got into a semi-war. Eventually, Error was traveling around, and he found a strange area. He realized it had ERROR versions of everyone. Error Sans Immediately became friends with all of them, happy to now have friends.
Error Sans accepted Error Papyrus as his brother, and the two were rather friendly. Error Chara and Error Sans also became good friends. Error Chara would bake him Brownies, and Error Sans would try to bake them a Quiche. However he mostly failed at this task, given his baking incompetence. The two generally bonded over this.
Similar to Underswap Sans, Error was a rather friendly and kind fellow at heart. Hence why he helped the other ERRORs build themselves a new home in The Omega Timeline, and why he so easily became friends with them.
Error just kind of vibed in his AU until Dream began his invasion of well, everything. Error then joined with Nightmare, upon realizing Dream joined with Blue. They engaged in one of the first battles of The War. Mostly being Dream and Blue’s Minimal Empire vs. Nightmare and Error’s ragtag team of rebels.
Error became a crucial part of The Negativity Resistance. He aimed to get back home to his friends and family once the war was over, writing constant letters to them. Error wants nothing more than to finally Stop Dream and put The Multiverse back into balance.

Ink’s Story
So basically, Unlike Classic Ink, this guy wasn’t just left in a void for years.
Basically, his AU was finished to some extent. It was still just “___Tale,” and it still wasn’t complete. But he was able to talk to and converse with the other characters. He decided to tear his soul open, however, ___Tale still exists here. Ink then left due to his soul being torn.
He instead immediately teleported into an AU. As his creator gave him colors. He begin to exist in a true extent. Then, he became an assassin esc. Character who hunted down those who he thought was Malevolent.
He interlaced with Error, who was formerly much more Malevolent. Not as much as his Classic Counterpart, but still not a good person. The two clashed for awhile, until certain events in Error’s story occured, so Ink just went to X-Tale, where he met X-Gaster. X-Gaster in this AU was much more like a very friendly Grandpa than a sadistic sociopathic perfectionist. So Ink just settled down in X-Tale until Dream came.

How Dream, Ink, and Cross Met.
So basically, Dream, Ink, and Cross were all part of Dream’s Faction at One Point.
Essentially how they met was very simple.
Dream can still track Nightmare via his Negative Aura, so he just tracked him to X-Tale when he learned how to AU jump.
Ink and Cross were there, chatting, as they were friends.
Dream figured that he might as well offer them to join his faction. Dream explained that he was simply a man who wanted to create a rightful multiverse.
((Essentially Dream’s Empire exists so he can mold the world into his perfect vision. Albeit, it does involve slaughtering criminals and heavy taxes. Many people are in support of this, as similar to Dreamswap Dream, he generally makes the area better.))
Cross and Ink, both wanting to do what was right, decided on joining Dream’s faction. Ink and Cross had no reason to assume he was evil. So they joined him and became his top Lieutenants.
Ink and Dream are mostly friends due to their Edgy/Morbid Humor. Then again, it’s also because Dream is literally manipulating his emotions and memories. So that might be artifical.

The Start of The AU
(Note: An Identical Post to this exists. I just reposted it here so that you didn’t have to scroll through my account’s posts to know how the AU started.)
(Note 2: While this is a Dreamswap-Esc AU, I didn't call it Dreamswap since two AUs with a name like that already exist.)
(Note 3: The Spirit of The Tree here is Male, Because Swap. I just thought that'd be a nice touch.)
This is essentially an AU I made based on Dreamswap and SwapDream respectively.
Essentially, it started the same as Dreamtale. However, Dream saw the bullying. He saw his brother constantly being abused, and tried to stop them. Little changed, and he saw how manipulative and dark the people were acting. How apathetic they were to suffering, and after a long time, he began to become apathetic himself. He developed Sociopathy.
Now, don't be hasty. He isn't just immediately a villain. He was still friends with Nightmare, and eventually, Nightmare was able to convince the bullies to stop, and even befriended them. (Insert Deltarune Sans Joke here.) However, one day, the wise old man told a prophecy. Of a final battle of The forces of good and evil. Whilst he rarely told of the future, everything he told ended up being true. Minor or Major.
Sage as he was, he often avoided being vague. He however, created a prophecy. A Hero would rise up, and defeat Darkness once and for all. What form would Darkness take? He was rather unclear. Darkness represented evil, and then he said of the hero that he was a humble man, and not only any man or monster, but an emotional guardian. Now, this reached Dream's ears. Given The Man's often Accuracy when it came to prophecies, Dream of course was rather full of himself. Of course it would be him! Nightmare was Negativity, Evil, and Darkness. Dream would rise up and stop him, and what a fantastic tale it would be!
Dream thought of course, any alternative was impossible. While the evil may not be his brother, he knew he was obviously the hero of the prophecy. He began to get annoyed. Nightmare began to be warmed up to by the people of the village, after they had accepted him. Dream found this unfounded, and declared it openly. Of course, due to his vanity, the villagers grew annoyed, and began throwing objects and insults at him. Dream, enraged, walked over to the tree of feelings, grabbing a negativity apple.
(Btw here, The Apples don't change when touched. They just hurt, kind of like Dream's positivity arrows hurt Nightmare, rather than just being negativity'd.)
Then Dream ate it, declaring that he was an incorruptible spirit. The people of the villagers backed up in fear, afraid of what would happen. Dream however, began to feel pain and suffering. Dream refused defeat, and noticing their fear, staggered up. "See? I am not corrupt!" He declared. The villagers backed up once more, as Dream sat there, waiting for admiration. His face turned to grimace. "Fine, I shall show again then!" He said, as he ate another negativity apple, and another, and another. He became to weak, as he tried to reach for the last negativity apple, only to fall frail, as his body began to melt and dust from all this negative energy. Nightmare, in fear of his brother's death, quickly grabbed a positive apple, giving it to Dream. Dream ate it, and it gave him his strength back. But more than before.
Dream had a taste of power, and he wanted more. He took more positivity apples, consuming them. As he ate more and more, he grew more powerful. Until the tree was almost entirely barren. There was only one negativity apple left. Nightmare staggered back. Dream lifted his arms up, as wings sprouted from his back. He had fused The Positive and Negative Energy; bending it to his will. He turned to the people. The Disgusting peasants, who didn't bow to him. He raised his arms. The Sun glew brighter, as Nightmare tried to stand in its way, shield them with shadow, but he was only but a boy, fighting against The Sun itself. It began to melt the people, melting their very skin and bones, giving them a slow and painful death. Nightmare couldn't help any of them, and could barely help himself as he began to melt. He stumbled towards the tree, begging his father for his strength. He fumbled around, grabbing The Negativity apple. He heard the voice of his father. "Eat it, I have imbued the last of my power into it. It will save you, my son." The voice said. Nightmare listened, his teeth sinking into the apple, as he ate it, it imbued him with its power, as his aura pushed Dream back, as Dream was caught off guard. The Sun turned back to normal. Those who had been hiding behind areas of shade, or somehow evading the sun, turned. It was back to a normal day, but it turned to rain, as Dream and Nightmare circled each other. Dream gloated about the fact he saw as Obvious. Nightmare only held 1/1000th of the power he did. But he underestimated it. In truth, that was the voice of their father. He had imbued his power into the apple. It was much more powerful than any other. But dream still had the advantage. Not only was it day, where he was most powerful. But he still did have many more. Sure it was one strong apple, but it doesn't do much against the unlimited power dream had. Nightmare knew his brother was no more, corrupted by his own inhibition. Nightmare summoned an aggressive weapon, unlike his brother of the original Dreamtale.
A Rapier's handle appeared in his hand.
The two entered a battle for the ages, but it was looking bad. Dream was to powerful, especially with the sun. Nightmare stood no chance, and was barely able to fight back. Eventually, as all hope seemed lost, The Sun exited the horizon, and the full moon rose.
Imbued with its power, Nightmare fought back, and disarmed Dream from The Claymore he wielded. Nightmare slashed Dream across the chest, wounding him. Then, with one last blast of power, he slammed his wounded brother into the tree. Sealing him in there. The energy was rebalanced. Nightmare took up the mantle of his Fallen Brother. He was now The Guardian of both Energies.
But... this would not be eternal.
500 years later, as The Sun rose, a yellow crack formed in the tree, as Dream tore his way out. Angrier than ever. Sadly, Nightmare was resting on the tree, startled to see his brother crawling out, fine, and very very angry.
Due to it being Dawn, Nightmare knew that he stood no chance. He remembered their battle 500 years ago. While he himself didn't want to run, he knew what he had to do. He had to protect Negativity. He fled, evacuating those of the village, which was now a city. It was to no avail. Dream began taking their souls, and puppeteering them. He claimed the souls, and the beings, humans and monsters alike, became soulless husks. Serving Dream's Every whim. Dream felt no remorse, as he destroyed everything. Humans and Monsters were cruel entities. Why should he give them MERCY? They were just weak power sources to him, nothing more. After all, Dream would give them a utopia. The least they could do was assist him in creating this utopia. Nightmare fled from the city, fearfully. The spirit of his father gave him advice, and Nightmare escaped to a different AU, as Dream conquered his home.
Basically,
Dream's a Megalomaniacal Sociopath who believes that he is the being from the prophecy. Every "Minor" thing he does is simply excusable to him. A necessary sacrifice. Due to his Sociopathic State, he doesn't think with morality. Kind of like Flowey from The Original Game.
Now, if you're wondering about AUs, well, that'll take more time to write down. But similar to Dreamswap, The Characters in each AU are different.
The only character that's mostly the same to Dreamswap is Blue. (I call him Underswap Sans mostly, since, I have something of a thing against the name "Blueberry," but if you need a nickname, I just call him Crossbones. Or just call him blue still, lolol.)
Ink is still swapped with Cross
Nightmare and Dream are still swapped
Error and Blue are still Swapped.
however, there are additional swaps.
Underswap Papyrus Swaps with Fatal_Error. (Kind of. Fatal doesn't exist in the story, but US Papyrus is kind of like Fatal.)
Underswap Chara is now CORE Frisk. (Core existed, but they were restored by Papyrus. Long story.)
There are a few other AUs Involved.
Horrortale
Killertale
Dusttale
Underfell
Othertale
Reapertale (Briefly Mentioned)
Aftertale
Alphatale (Doesn't do much, yet.)
Peacetale (Not really, but Infected Sans exists here. So technically Peacetale does as well.)
