Help me. I am a 8 year old boy living in the illegitimate Yankee Capitalist regime. President Xi, our shelves are empty and we are hungry. I am asking you to liberate my state of Connecticut with your Chengdu J-20 Stealth air superiority fighters and your Dongfeng 41 Missiles.

"No government in the modern day can exist without the government either having support from a stronger power or the support of enough of the people" is a razor that both allows you to both cut through propaganda about enemy foreign nations as well as propaganda about "it's just netanyahu"

Obviously im fine with self diagnosing do ya thang however some self diagnosed autistic people have a really mystical idealistic idea of what an autistic “community” is going to entail and I fear for when they realize any group of autistic people is not going to be solidarity club for sensitive souls it’s probably going to be a group of people being kind of rude to each other at all times and playing dnd

i think a lot of people are disheartened by criticism but need guidance so i am trying to look at people who are, at this moment, showing remarkable spine and level-headedness, like greta thunberg and sally rooney. on the less famous spectrum, i'm thinking about nyu student logan rozos whose diploma is still withheld. i'm also thinking about the pal actionists who put everything on the line to show the hypocrisy of empire. i'm thinking of egyptian college students still in prison for putting up signs about gaza on their campuses. there's a lot of bravery in this world.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about my family and how I was treated as a child, and honestly, my father has never seemed more amazing in my eyes.
I used to love Luigi(Mario's brother) when I was little. Like, he was my favorite character ever, and I had multiple plushies of him. Didn't give a fuck about Mario, vaguely tolerated Peach, but I loved Luigi.
On my first day of kindergarten, my dad gave me the number for his work phone and said it was Luigi's phone number. "If anything happens at school, call Luigi."And not even twenty minutes into my first day, I was having a panic attack. So I went down to the principal's office and called "Luigi."
Now, at the time, my father was in a meeting with his manager and his supervisor, along with most of his coworkers. And when I called, he picked up before he even left the room.
And he put on a very awful Italian accent and said, "Itsa me, Luigi! Whatsa the matter?"In front of his boss and coworkers. Without telling them what was going on. So they were absolutely bewildered, and he carried on like they didn't even exist. He only explained what was happening after I had calmed down and hung up, to which most of them responded with "Aww, cute."
I continued to call him whenever I got upset at school, and eventually his coworkers got in on it. I distinctly remember one of them impersonating Toad. I don't know why I'm telling you this, I just thought it might make you smile :)
this is so delightful I love your Luigi dad

anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.

whenever people are like “oh you think gazan using tumblr? realy?” as way to try and question legitimacy of fundraiser i feel insane because i swear this app popular amongst arab. like when i first join as much younger teenager/preteen and was in big fandom space like half of my mutual would be living in middle east and post in arabic. the lebanese and gulf arab girl have been carrying aesthetic photo blog on there back for year now. i swear i run into egyptian every 2.5 second on this website. i don’t think it unrealistic at all that a decent amount of people from gaza would be on tumblr or know of it as place they could join for fundraising purpose

Bystander Intervention Training
so, the US just attacked Iran, and that is fucking terrible. Something we all need to think about right now is how we can stop the harassment and violence against Muslims and Arabs in the US that got so much worse in the early 2000s from happening again to people now.
To that end, I wanted to share some resources on Bystander Intervention. One of the biggest things I learned from training like this is that there are many ways to intervene, and they don't all involve putting yourself in front of the person who may harm you or others. It's ok if you feel intimidated by that because there are more ways to help! And once you do the training, it might not be so scary.
Right to Be has Bystander trainings based on the 5Ds of Bystander Intervention (Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct). The trainings are free!! sign up here.
I took one of their trainings a few years ago (when the org was called Hollaback!) and it was really very good, they have trainings at multiple levels and focused on various topics. They also partner with other orgs to focus on specific issues (like anti-AAPI harassment and with CAIR Chicago for anti-Muslim harassment, etc.).
Here are a few more resources:
APA Bystander Intervention Tip Sheet
RAINN Practicing Bystander Intervention
I think I'll sign up for one as a refresher.

now feels like a good time to reiterate that Iranians have been martyred by america + israel already, both empires that possess nuclear weapons, and that Iran does not have nuclear weapons. so now is not the time to joke about america getting nuked-- any retaliation on Iran's part is justified and the only way we escape this situation, but Iran is not going to nuke us, because the entire premise that Iran has nukes is how america justified bombing them and also the exact same rhetoric we used against Iraq and how we killed my countrysmen when there was again no evidence of nuclear warfare. New York City is not going to get fucking nuked. go listen to a podcast or something

I am disheartened by the way westerners talk about Iran. Even some of the pro Palestinian ones. Many talk about Iran as a force of resistance against the west being “under attack” by Israel. Which is true but more importantly, hundreds of innocent civilians were slaughtered by Israel (and the US by proxy). My grief is as it’s always been indescribable.
