mm, true, i see what you mean. but still, i think its partially that a lot of people only want to engage with it on a character level and just dont feel like reading that deep into it (even though i agree that its pretty obvious if you think about it for 2 seconds)

i think my problem with about... 99% of the sk8 fandom is that everyone has opinions on adam's character, but nobody feels comfortable looking at him from a doylist perspective and going 'why is the unambiguously gay man being depicted as attracted to a 17 year old?' probably because looking at the show from that lens makes it pretty obvious it's just homophobia.

this is also an issue with the show itself, but like. it really feels like a major issue being sidestepped in every single conversation about adam as a character.

yeah when i watching the show and somewhat engaing in fan media i was so weirded out by peoples reactions to adam... I feel like everybody either just ignored his behavior because it doesnt fit in what they want to engage with as a cute fun bl-bait show, or go "but he has Trauma 🥺 so its okay" and then dont think about the actual implications of that depiction.

and i think a lot of the fandom skews really young, so i feel like that's also a factor
