Beca has a variety of different smiles when it comes to Chloe.
She has a smile that Chloe never sees. It’s the kind of vulnerable smile that Beca knows makes her all kinds of gross and cheesy but she can’t help it because Chloe makes her want to be better (despite Chloe saying that it is Beca who makes them better). She wants to be better because Chloe believes in her and Chloe is enthusiastic and so free about her passion and love for music. It’s what Beca admires about her. Loves, even.
Beca has a smile that she directs right at Chloe, unabashedly—the smile that says “we did it, didn’t we?”—where there’s some measure of relief and gratitude because Chloe sticks by her side, no matter what. Somehow they always manage to find their way back together, through whatever hardships may befall them and it’s because Chloe doesn’t give up on her once.
Then, finally, there’s the smile that Beca directs at Chloe after performing and then once again at the beginning of her performance. This smile is grounded in music because it is what brought them together in the first place. Chloe is with her at the beginning and end of this little story they share together, but Beca smiles because she knows that this isn’t the end for them. Both smiles represent gratefulness, adoration, and affection, even at the beginning when they barely know each other.
But most importantly, Beca’s smiles share one thing in common: they all seem to say “I love you too, I hope you know that.”

Genre: Fluff, Slow Burn (i think)
Summary: "She imagined that if the feeling of home ever felt like a person, it would feel a lot like Chloe Beale.“
Or: It’s fluff, there’s almost no angst (or there is no angst??), and Beca’s on a journey to find a place to call home.
Author’s Note: BIG thanks to @microwavedicecream and your support! This is for the @ppfandomdrive and the prompt was bechloe + friends to lovers (fluff + slowburn) 💗 posted on ao3 bc it’s bigger than my usual Tumblr posts! title from bea miller & jessie reyez’ song Feels Like Home. Hope you enjoy!!
