a bit abrupt, I know, but as of recent revelations regarding my over-attachment to and reliance on the approval of social media, I think I'm realizing that the pattern I'm setting for myself is really unhealthy. at the risk of getting too personal for a public blog, all I'll say is that I think my desperation for attention and care from people who - lets be honest - will never know the real me anyway, isn't something I want to propagate. given that I've already been in the midst of a mental decline over the past few years, my altered and unwell state has made me desperately attach to the instantaneous hits of dopamine offered by having an online presence, or social media in general. for this reason I'm going to try (emphasis on try, as I already know trying to kick this habit is very hard) to take a break to reevaluate my relationship with the internet. I'm not sure how long it will be, I can't promise when I'll be back, but I doubt it'll be permanent. I don't really want to erase my presence, I just want to step back until i can learn how to effectively detach myself from this desperation I have to be approved of by strangers. not to mention not wanting to fuel my already crippling surveillance anxiety that I've had since I was a kid. shits fucked, basically. my heads not screwed on right and I want to fix it.

for the sake of my privacy, please do not ask me or anyone else for any alternate methods of contact, I've given those of whom I'm comfortable with having it my personal number as I will not be using discord at this time either. thank you to everyone who has enjoyed my art and posts, and I hope that they continue to bring you joy in my absence.

okay, I was going to delete this, because it's fucking rude, but I kind of want you to be put on blast for behaving this way so I'm posting it.

I try to be as nice as possible on this account. I rarely find it necessary to put my foot down or be hostile or unreservedly nasty, but shit like this makes me want to delete everything and never give people like you an iota of content ever again. you don't get to come onto my account where I post my art for free as a low income person instead of opting to use services like patreon, and then demand what I post. you ALSO do not get to use insulting my friends as a vehicle to get more free content out of me that you assuredly do not fucking deserve. it's absolutely uncalled for to not only demand this of me but to do so in a way that drags down not only me but my friend. completely out of line. don't send me anything like this ever again, don't speak to anyone like this again, and I suggest logging the hell off and learning some manners.
