Todays my birthday, so naturally I’m thinking … what bottle should I open in celebration!? This Glengoyne 15 has been on my shelf for nearly 8 years 😅 It is very special to me as I bought it from the distillery itself (a must visit!). Now, the 15 is no longer in production and of course the whole range has gone through a rebranding. It feels too special and beautiful to open but equally, it’s so sad to see it untouched. Whiskey Espresso Martini 🥃🍫☕️ My rogue recipe: Step 1: add ice to your glass so it chills ❄️ Step 2: in another glass add sugar and chocolate (to your taste) then pour hot espresso over. Stir till it melts and blends, this will also cool it Step 3: fill shaker with ice then add 50ml Irish Whisky & the chocolatey espresso shot Step 4: Shake your money maker. Step 5: Pour out the ice that was keeping your glass chilled and strain your drink in, dust with cocoa powder 🧚🏽‍♂️ ** Word to the wise, don’t knock these back before bed like this muppet did ☠️ If I had Absolut Vanilla I might have added 25ml of that too, what do you think? Glengoyne 12 is one of my all time favourites. I fell I love with the entire range back in 2012 when I visited the distillery. I hate to admit this but I love the old packaging in comparison to the new, which is why I’m reluctant to finish this bottle 🙈 anyone else feel the same? Starward ft. Our closest Star 🌞 This whisky does not leave much to be desired. The maturation in 100% French oak red wine barrels, sourced from local Melbourne wineries, make it so juicy & fruity 😍 Easily joins the ranks of my favourites & a new solid shelf staple. I’ve seen some drinking it in a cocktail but in my opinion, doing so would be an injustice. Drink neat and be amazed. Starward, Left-field (40% abv.) At NYE I learned how dangerously easy this is to drink, hence why half is missing 😂 It is unexpectedly complex for a NAS whisky.. is it just me or did anyone else struggle to pin down tasting notes? I got a slightly nuanced experience with each smell and sip, which I think deservedly makes it a shelf staple. Green Spot, Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, 40% abv Nose: green toffee apples, creamy sweet porridge with green banana, some peppermint chocolate detectable, toasted oak. After💧: sweet barely prominent  Palate: toasted desiccated coconut, a barrage of fruits, apple and mango, subtle menthol mouth feel which really smooths out. After💧: richness and heat disappears and becomes icing sugar sweet. This was gifted to me by a friend for my birthday a few months ago (shoutout to @steven.const!) This was my first time really trying Cardhu (outside of having tried it through Johnnie Walker ofc). The wooden top is such a nice touch to this unique bottle shape! Cardhu Gold Reserve, 40% abv: Nose: red apples, melted butter and honey on toast, apricots, some hints of freshly cut wood. Nose: sour, unlit charcoal, leather, light sherry and toffee, toasted nuts. After💧: Lighter, fresh sea breeze

Palate: oily rich mouth feel, gentle smoking wood, the sweetness of aniseed, some raisin from its sherry cask, slight cinnamon. After 💧: more sourness and spice.

Finish: a light smoke that lingers, finish becomes sweeter
