If he were as good a detective as he seemed to be, there was no way Dewey didn't notice the shift in her at the mention of Sam. The way her jaw clenched, her eyes hardened. Only for a moment though. Amber was good at controlling herself, even if she slipped up every now and then. She was silent as he spoke, and saying it out loud felt far better than she had imagined. Even with the guilt that ate away at her, not hiding was far better than constantly looking over your shoulders. "It was me," she repeated, her voice far calmer than it should be. She expected the distance, the glares, and his words didn't phase her. If anything, she expected worse. "Maybe I'm not the psycho everyone wants to think I am, or maybe I am, but I'm not going to pretend that I didn't gut you while you're being nice." It made sense to her, at least a little. She owed him that much, if he was going to be kind. No matter what she had said to him in the moment, his death was one she had regretted. Good for the movies, sure, but she didn't really care about those. "Besides, I'm the least of your worries. I didn't want to kill you, you just shouldn't have gone back. But Stu? He's here, and I don't know if he'd be as . . . I don't know, guilt ridden as I am?"
dewey nodded his head. "tara, that's it. she seemed like a good kid. well, both her and sam did." all things considered, he didn't believe that either of them had been behind it all but then... he'd been surprised before. "you did? shit... i'm so sorry." he mused, honestly. if only he knew the truth! that sidney and gale had killed her in response to his death. to end the next ghostface's reign. his brows furrowed in confusion as he looked at her. "you... you what?" he wasn't expecting that. then again, he didn't expect whoever had done it to admit to it quite like that. "it... it was you? you... you killed me?" he had to give it to her, she was the only one who'd truly come close. like completely. sure, he'd been hurt in the past but the kid before him had bested him. though he was considerably older than before. "what the fuck?" he stepped back, all but glaring at her. "are you serious? you're just gonna come out and say that?" @drkstate

Yelena's words made her smile, even if it were only for a second. She and Yelena hadn't started off on the best of terms, but she had quickly grown to respect her, had quickly grown to like her. She hugged her gently, knowing neither of them were entirely fond of touchiness. Or perhaps Yelena truly was a softie, and she just hid it well. A laugh escaped her as she pulled back some. "You could, but I'd rather not get my ass kicked."
"THAT IS A FAIR ENOUGH POINT, KATE BISHOP. FAIR ENOUGH." nodding, and.. right now, it was perhaps clear that YELENA WAS FIGHTING a smirk. what could she say? the other was perhaps one of the most interesting companions that she had come across in the past and.. did yelena truly enjoy being around her? it was something like that. yes. "i could make you tell me?" moving in to hug the other. / @drkstate

"I mean, do any of us really know what we're doing? My best friend is a middle aged man who'd be late to his own funeral. Hell, I'll be late to his funeral too." Kate said that freely, too. She'd say it to Clint's face, no hesitation. Why wouldn't she? It was true, and she loved him for it. She frowned then, head tilting just slightly as she looked at her. "What did you do to her? It can't be that bad."
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING MOST DAYS, OKAY? she's amazing and fantastic and brilliant and badass and i'm just.. me." and as far as she was concerned, that had never been a good thing, had it? ellie was more than used to keeping to herself at this point but.. this place wasn't exactly LETTING her, was it? "i figured that much," that she wasn't dina. there were certain differences, if one knew where to look. "and i don't know. maybe she's hiding from me. i wouldn't blame her." @drkstate

He shook his head at the question, because really, Lucerys was content. He was doing well in his classes despite not understanding much at first, and he had learned to live in such a modern time. He lived happily, even. And he was perfectly happy being Luke Penderson, rather than the boy who had died in the sky. The name had been a lie at first, just something to make schooling easier. But he felt that it was true now, that he was Finn's son. "If I need anything, I'll let you know, I promise." Because he knew Finn would give him anything he asked, he was sure of it. It was such an awkward situation with his mother, because he did love her still, he had missed her dearly. But his death had surely been a burden, and that was one he wouldn't wish on her again. "I'll respect her choice either way. It couldn't have been easy, losing me." One of his fears was that it had been easy. But Lucerys knew his mother, and he knew it hadn't been. "I do have a family, I have you. And no matter what your family says or how they feel, you have me as well." His fears of being replaced had been the result of being a second son, of being the replaceable one. But something deep inside told him Finn wouldn't do that, and he trusted that feeling. "I won't meet anyone you don't wish me to, not intentionally. We'll be okay, we've got each other."
"GOOD. GOOD. if there is anything that you need? you need only say the word. especially now.. it can be arranged." was he supposed to be saddened that phineas was gone? it meant that once again, he didn't have anyone to answer to and that he could do things his own way. and then again? the man had never done anything for him.. it was especially the other way around so fuck it. and most especially? to hell with him, after everything else he'd done. "perhaps you should leave that choice to her? she may yet surprise you. and if she chooses not.. you have a family as it is. IT WILL BE ALRIGHT. sometimes, blood is not everything." wasn't he aware of that much? yes, and.. he did not want lucerys to feel as he had once. like the black sheep of the pederson family? not that he was ever going to admit that out loud, but... yes. he had felt like that once. "oh, they do. i doubt they could forget it even if they tried," shaking his head. "regardless.. we do not get along. they are of no consequence. you do not even have to meet them if you do not wish to. they're not all that much." squeezing luke's shoulder. that was the truth and.. if anything, he wanted his son away from that mess completely. and now that phineas was out of the way? he could get back what was his. @drkstate

She was a hard woman to forget. He wasn't quite sure if he'd ever remember everything, but he was glad that he remembered her. Something inside of Bruce was just drawn to her. "Hello, Natasha," he greeted her, eyes softer than they would be with any other. "Am I as unforgettable as you are? Because you've been hard to forget, no matter how hard this place has tried."
"I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT WAS YOU. HELLO, BRUCE." natasha didn't know how it was that he was going to react to seeing her. badly? not badly? she had no idea and.. right now, she found herself glancing down for a moment, because.. yes, she knew that she should have said goodbye. was it shitty that she had not? probably, but.. there had been no time, right? of course not. @drkstate

His face scrunched up a little at that. A Peter Parker? "Yeah, sure, because you know me so well." He didn't like this, not one bit. He was a quick learner, quick to put pieces together. This man had met him, or some version of him. That meant the multiverse was real, and there was more than one Spiderman out there. "I haven't met you," he admitted. He could be a pain, Peter knew, but this was serious. "I know of the multiverse, but I haven't experienced it. You've met another version of me, or I'm from a different time period as you."
"OH, YEAH. THAT'S SOMETHING THAT ONLY A PETER PARKER WOULD SAY." stephen rolled his eyes, because.. if he were to be honest.. yes, he cared. no, he shouldn't have. that was the biggest problem of all and.. yes, hadn't he gotten into trouble because of the kid before? yes, he had. regardless.. "you and i know the multiverse all too well, parker. and as it turns out, i was supposed to have forgotten about you, so.. how did you change that?" @drkstate

"A lady waiting? Come on Cat, we both know you aren't a lady." The words came easily, but Peter knew she heard the smile in them, that she saw the smile on his face. He wanted to rush to her, wrap her in his arms and not let her go. She'd enjoy that a little too much though, and if she was teasing him, he could give it right back. "I don't know, it's been pretty peaceful around here. I might miss it." But Peter had missed her, more than anything. It hadn't been easy giving his heart to someone else, but once he had, she had sunk her claws in him and he had welcomed it. He didn't wait much longer than that, always having given into their little games before she had, and his arms were around her in an instant, holding her close to him, not really wanting to let her go. "Don't I always look good? It's part of the charm." His words were teasing still, but quieter as he buried his face in her neck.
@drkstate
"well, well. you took your time, didn't you? do you know how long i've been waiting? surely you know it's not nice to keep a lady waiting." felicia taunted, unable to fight the smirk that spread across her face. "you can make it up to me by telling me how much you've missed me and how much better your life is now that you've found me again." she teased, purposefully taking her time to walk towards him. "you're looking good, mister."

He wasn't quite sure which was more surprising. The fact that a dragon stood before him once again, or the fact that this man was identical to his brother. Older than Lucerys remembered him, but it was as if h were staring at Jace. This wasn't Jacaerys, though, that much Luke could tell. He would know his brother. "You don't know me, no," he answered him, his voice quiet as he took a step forward. He wasn't afraid, far from it in fact. There was only one dragon he feared, that haunted his dreams. Stepping closer, he looked at the dragon, a kind smile on his face, letting him see that he didn't fear him. "May I pet him?"
"WHAT.. WHY ARE WE STARING? DO WE KNOW YOU?" he supposed that he was bound to get some stares, seeing as he had a dragon right next to him, but.. as far as he was concerned, that did not matter. toothless was his friend. toothless was his very best friend and if anything, he was just glad that he didn't need to be here without him, because he didn't know what he would have done if he was. "look, i know. he's a dragon, but he's also my friend. can we move on with that?" @drkstate

"If you want to tell me your name, that's fine," Bruce offered. He knew it all too well that kindness was rare, which was why he tried to spread it as much as he could. Her words weren't a surprise to him, neither was her skepticism. "Why? I'm a doctor, helping people is what we do." At least it should be, but that wasn't a conversation he would have with a complete stranger. "They don't," he agreed. "But I do. So if you're new around here, I don't mind to help."
jenny had been raised a soldier and although the stories she had learnt were all a pack of lies... she did know that often; you didn't get something for nothing. if someone was giving something; they often demanded something in return. "you're just... giving me money? not asking my name first or any information about me?" jenny questioned with a raise of her brow. "why?" he was interesting, she had to give him that, didn't she? "what do you want in return?" she cocked her head, looking at him as though trying to get a reading on him. "people... don't often just... use kindness." jenny wished it were different. @drkstate

For a moment, everything was simple, and it all made sense. JJ was in her arms and that was enough. She kept her arms around the blonde, not moving until she did, and when JJ pulled back, reality came crashing back down on Emily. "You aren't going to lose it, I promise." Emily wouldn't let that happen, but she knew that Jennifer wouldn't either, not when she had the boys with her. She listened as JJ explained what had happened, and it just didn't make sense. None of it did. But she knew JJ wasn't lying. She knew JJ, she knew when she was lying. This wasn't that. her hands reached out once again, taking the blonde's in them and squeezing gently. "I don't know why, but whoever's responsible won't get away with it. We won't let them." She squeezed again and nodded, fully prepared to go to war for this woman, for those boys. "You need me, I'm there, you know that."

she let out a sigh of relief as she rested her head against emily's shoulder for a moment, just... enjoying being in her company and arms. "thank god. i was... i was real close to losing it." she admitted but added a small chuckle, trying to keep things together. jj shrugged her shoulders. "i wish... i wish i knew, em. but i literally had a relatively normal day. i finished, went home and put the boys to bed and then... woke up here. i'm... i can't contact anyone back home. i've tried a thousand times but i can't reach them." she admitted, finally able to talk about her fears with someone who would truly believe and understand her. "we had to have been, right? i mean, how else can it be explained but... why? why drug us? why bring us here?" she exhaled slowly, trying to stay calm. "i can tell you now, emily, whoever drugged my kids? they're not getting away with this. they're not. how could they do this?" she had been searching for answers ever since arriving but... to no avail. jj looked at emily with tearful eyes. "what's going on here?" @drkstate

She was thankful that the conversation changed, that they were no longer talking about Richie. Although, the conversation they were having wasn't one Amber really wanted to have. "Tara I . . . I'll never have a good answer for you, you know that. Nothing is ever going to be what you want to hear. Because I knew it was wrong, I knew it wasn't okay, and I did it anyways." She had always known that she was earning a special place in Hell for everything she was doing, but none of it mattered. Not when they would pay for all the hurt they caused Tara, not when she realized how much she enjoyed it. When Tara didn't pull away, her heart skipped a beat, but it sunk the second she saw her tears, and her thumbs were brushing them away gently. "I would never hurt you." She said instantly, not denying anything else. "I can't . . . I can't promise I won't ever do it again, but I can promise I won't do it because of you, or for you. I would never pin that on you. I wanted revenge for you, but I chose to do it myself. I chose that they should pay for it." Her hands dropped then, before she offered a shrug. "Apparently, you all burn me to a crisp and then blow my brains out. I like being alive, and that's a pretty good reason to lay low." She paused then, because Tara did have a point, but she wasn't quite sure how to respond. Tara knew she'd kill someone over her. "When you look at me, what do you want to see?"
she tried to hide the fact they were close made her her jealous. made her wonder how close they were. it was none of her business. amber could've been with whoever she wanted, right? "but surely me finding out by you telling me was better than you becoming a murderer? even if you didn't think it would end like this, surely you knew that something wasn't right? that feeling like that wasn't... okay? i could've helped!" tara wanted to believe that, of course. wanted to believe that things could've been different. as soon as amber's skin touched her's; she tensed. all she could see were those friends she had lost at her hands. but... she didn't pull away. she couldn't. she was frozen in place, tears running down her cheeks. "i don't know if... i can ever forgive you, amber. there's always going to be a part of me that's scared you're hiding something. that you're sneaking out to hurt someone or if we argue that you... you might swing it round on me." she didn't want to think that she would. in fact... a part of her believed that amber hadn't intended her to get hurt. "you did it once... what's to stop you doing it again if you have that need inside you?" she questioned wiping away her tears. "don't want you to kill for me. it sounds all romantic when people say it in movies but what scares me is that you could!" tara sniffled and shook her head slowly. "i don't want to see you as that person... i don't want to look at you and see the pain you can cause..." @drkstate

"I'm doing okay, Dad, don't worry." The words came easily to Luke, though they hadn't always. Because he had a father once. he had been Laenor Velaryon's son. But Finn had very much earned that title as well, though, and he wasn't going to deny that to anyone. He hadn't always remembered home, but when he had, and the nightmares of flames and falling had come, when thunderstorms had made him terrified, only Finn had been there for him in the way a father would be. When he was learning how to be a man of this time and not his own, it was Finn who taught him. No one's arrival would change the bond he had with him. It wasn't as if it were Laenor or even Harwin Strong who had shown up, it was his mother. Someone who was as irreplaceable as Finn. "I'm not sure, but even if it was possible, no mother deserves to remember her son's death. If she remembers me, it'll be her choice if we have a relationship or not." No matter how much he wished to have a relationship with Rhaenyra again, he wouldn't be the one to reach out, to press. It would be her choice, given the circumstances. The mention of Finn's family did worry him some, but he trusted Finn. He wouldn't turn his back on him. "Do they remember? You, your home?"
"AND I TAKE IT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN EXCELLING AT THEM? IF NOT.. WE COULD ALWAYS GET YOU A TUTOR. NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR MY BOY." perhaps lucerys was not his son by blood, but.. in so many ways and to finn, it was precisely as if he were that much. HIS SON. yes? he was more his family than most people that shared his blood and.. yes, he was going to make sure that he was well taken care of. yes? especially with everything that was going on. "ah. i'm rather sorry about that," for once, he did mean it. yes? which.. for someone like finn pederson, was a miracle in and off itself. "and there are no chances that her memory can be regained? i've seen it happen." he supposed that he'd have to worry about that when phineas came back, but.. until then? it was good. right? yes. "oh, yes. my siblings. my daughter. they've been here for quite some time." @drkstate

"I've always been too cool for you," Kate replied, but there was a smile on her face as she moved closer. Her eyes rolled at the blonde's next words, but she had missed her, and everyone else from home she had grown close to. So it was a no brainer to just give Yelena a hug, even if Kate wasn't as touchy as people would expect her to be. "I might want to, but you'll never know the truth." She wrapped her arms around Yelena, and the tightness was truth enough.
"KATE BISHOP! I COULD HAVE SWORN THAT WAS YOU! come and give an old friend a hug, eh? or are you too cool for that now?" messing with her was fun. maybe that was why yelena had done it ever since the start, but.. it was also to maybe hide the fact that she did CONSIDER the other someone that SHE ADMIRED. yes, they had fought once or twice, but.. who hadn't, these days? "come now, bring it in. you know you want to, eh?" / @drkstate

So Kate had guessed right. Dina was this girl's something. Did Kate know what that was? Nope, and she could be as nosy as the next person, but it wasn't any of her business. Especially if she and this Dina looked like twins. "Well . . ." Shit. What was Kate supposed to say to that? "Well, I'm not Dina, I'm Kate. But I'm good at finding stuff out, and finding people. I could probably find this Dina, and see if she hates you like you think?"
"SHE'S MY.. HM. YEAH. SOMETHING." she wanted to think that she and dina were something. she liked to think that the other loved her as much as ellie had loved her, but.. after everything? after joel and jesse and maybe even tommy? she didn't know. she had no fucking idea and that was the worst thing of ALL, right? and seeing this one right now? it just reminded her of how much she missed her. "but yeah, she's very cute and i'm probably never going to see her again, so.. there is that." looking down. "i don't think she wants to see me, but.. thanks.. not-dina." @drkstate

His gaze turned to the man's and his brow knitted together in confusion. He spoke as if he knew Peter. If the eye rolls were any indication, he probably did. "I don't get into trouble, trouble gets into me," he shrugged, tilting his head at the man's next words. "Well, I was just getting some coffee." He held up the little cup as proof. "And I don't know about what you've been told, but the multiverse is just some insane theory. No one's been able to prove it." Was Peter sure he could? Yeah, duh. He knew this place wasn't the London from his universe. There wasn't enough weird shit going on for all that. But this guy didn't need to know what all Peter knew.
"LET ME GUESS. YOU'RE HERE TO GET ME INTO MORE TROUBLE?" stephen rolled his eyes, knowing that nothing good ever came out of having a peter parker near him, but.. as always, he was inclined to help. that was what he did, that was what he had always done and.. well, he was trying very hard to not be a smug asshole anymore. was he getting somewhere with that? maybe, maybe not. "what's going on now? another multiverse crisis?" stephen just rolled his eyes. @drkstate

His arms wrapped around him in an instant, a small smile pulling at his lips. No matter the family Lucerys mourned, the one he had lost, he had found one in London, and Finn had become a large part of it. "I'm doing okay, I'm on a break from classes, it's been nice." When they pulled back, he smiled at him, but it quickly fell at his words. "Yeah I . . . I know," he quietly said, avoiding his gaze for a moment. He took his seat, the one closest to Finn as he usually did, waiting until he sat as well before he said anything. This news was better sitting down. "There are people from my world here, from my family. My mother, she . . . She's here, but she doesn't know me. Have you met anyone you know?" Part of Luke worried he would be put to the side for a family Finn had lost, but the invitation had been proof enough that wasn't happening, wasn't it?
"MY BOY. THANK YOU FOR COMING. HOW ARE YOU?" he greeted lucerys with a warm hug as soon as he saw him and.. perhaps that was unlike finn, but he was his son AFTER ALL. wasn't he? yes, he was and.. as far as he was concerned, he had never once let him down in the past and yes, that mattered. it mattered that he was proud of him and yes, that he had always wanted a son that did not let him down. "this town is growing rather dangerous, but.. please, sit. WE HAVE A LOT TO DISCUSS AND DINNER IS BEING COOKED AS WE SPEAK." in his new penthouse, he once again had people cooking for him. @drkstate
